Can the NY Rangers select who they'll be playing against this Sunday?
Montreal is IN, if only Markov can cure the knee injured by the MapleThiefs, fast enough.
Tell me which team will win the Stanley Cup -- before it even all starts;
Below, you've got til' April 15th 8:00PM EST.
Guessers get a well earned Karma.
Mine is bolded above.
Da' Sharks!
I'm rooting for the Bruins, but I think that the Red Wings are going to take the cup.
Idk this is hard question. I might have to say Boston that is of course my team doesnt make it into playoffs.
There is still hope for my Preds!!!!!! After that last game agaisnst the Red Wings, I have hope!!!!!!!!
You realize there's only 16 spots to take, aren't you?
Zyxpsilon=Montreal
Jacob Marley=San Jose
Mistralok=Detroit
-Ue_Carbon=??? might (doesn't count!)
Anyone else?
Injuries are making things really hard to guess... Hossa is down in Detroit, Elias in NJ... But also, every team is better than last year... Detroit vs MTL/Pitts last year wasn't really hard to guessm but this year, man it's gonna be tight.
I would go for
SJ vs Boston with Boston winning it in 6.
i havent been watching much this year but im gonna stick with Pittsburgh
Alright -- some recapitulation for the remaining precious spots;
-Ue_Carbon=Nashville (assuming they skim by the tape of their sticks over the weekend and above St-Louis or even Anaheim!)
dthif1980=Boston
Jethro420=Pittsburgh
......
16-5=11.
Btw Jethro, are you a clone of Mottikhan? By the looks of it, you were both genetically engineered by the same dentist(s).
Fan of Tull, maybe... Sitting on a park bench--
Lol nah i use this avatar from steam i think but yea i liek Jethro Tull
I wonder if anyone is gonna get here fast enough to pick Carolina - cuz, this IS the most incredible end_of_season climb of late years; they sure have a momentum, trick is who between Pittsburgh or Philadelphia can be on their path - by choice!
Well Nashville lost 8-4 so I will take Carolina for my pick.
-Ue_Carbon=Carolina
....
16-6=10 (left only!)
PS; Price is just about to defeat Pittsburgh aaaaallllllll by himself this evening. Still 1-1 after two!
ANything can happen in the playoffs. I'm going to go with my Canucks, just because.
I know absolutely nothing about hockey, but I can't resist the smell of Karma in the morning. I'll go with the only team I know: Toronto Maple Leaves.
Hate to tell ya Toronto didn't make the Playoffs.
Detroit for the cup!!!!!!!!!!!
Coelocanth= Vancouver
ScoutDog= Invalid choice?! (NHL.com) Pick one which is IN or somebody else will before you can.
Dren93= Also invalid! (Mistralok took Detroit already)
...
16-7=9 only to go.
Btw, Montreal starts in Boston.
and...
New York Rangers IN Washington
Carolina IN New Jersey
Pittsburgh VS Philadelphia (Home advantage still pending tomorrow results!)
Calgary IN Chicago
the remaining matchups (Columbus, Anaheim, St-Louis) yet to be determined.
If somebody wants to gamble, St.Louis are playing incredibly well till the trade deadline... actually, they are the best team since then in the NHL (according to win %). Them and Carolina are nice sleeper picks
As a reminder... 16-7=9!!
Montreal(√) IN Boston(√)
NY Rangers(?) IN Washington(?)
Carolina(√) IN New jersey(?)
Philadelphia(?) IN Pittsburgh(√)
Anaheim(?) IN San Jose(√)
Columbus(?) IN Detroit(√)
St-Louis(?) IN Vancouver(√)
Calgary(?) IN Chicago(?)
(√) = Already selected
(?) = Still available until Wednesday 8:00PM EST unless picked individually by anyone else than us!!
Ooh, that's tough, man. If you can get past the Bruins though, you have a real shot.
Being a Detroit native, i'd have to say Wings for the Cup.
-Gabe
I'm rooting for the Canucks.
Gonna hope for a good playoff this year. Not like two years ago vs anahiem. Urg
Well, both the above "entries" aren't valid to participate in our guessing attempts as they are simple opinions... but, if they want to pick any other teams before the deadline they are most welcomed to return here!
At any rate, we may have to select a second choice for ourselves during the first round.
This is what is sooooooo great about the "current" sport of Hockey -- Salary caps created balanced teams to the point where anything can happen in the series. The advantages are just about scratched from game one 'til the last. St-Louis & Columbus are two great examples of these latest magical numbers.
The toughest trophy to win in ALL of sports. Not even International Football World Cup compares.
Best of 7, goaltenders are key though.
Zyxpsilon I'm a canadien fans but I doubt they will win. I will take Washington for a spot in your little thread.
Ovechkin is way great and Theo you never know.
Solam=Washington
16-8=8!
