As the the demo release of "The Bringers of Light" grows nearer, I'll just drop a little bit of iscentive for you people out there to be drooling as you wait in anticipation! The TBL tech tree, which has been in development for a long time, is almost complete. It needs some more weapons and defenses and presto! It's done!
Below, I've included a preview of the tech tree in its current state...it's pretty darned huge! Please ignore the few floating techs at the bottom of the image...except maybe the doomsday victory one!
Updated Image Below!

Oooh! Since I am working on a tech tree myself, I will be watching this closely! It would be nice if you could get a larger picture... At the current resolution, I cannot read the names . Lemme guess: the tech victory is some sort of mutant, space-age Manhattan Project?
if you save the image, then you can zoom in to see everything!
I tried that. It's too pixelated...
then i'll change it.
EDIT: image updated!
Looks good Dave. I been waiting on some more info on your mod, seemed it got lost there for while.
Since im doing trees for my unique race mod i will look at your tree often.
Some nice techs in there, mind if i snag a few for my trees?
Wow. I can see that you haven't been as... conservative with your design as I have. I just took the GC2 tree, made it bigger, and tacked on a few extra features that may not be implemented due to technical reasons. This, on the other hand, looks entirely original. I wonder how it plays... In any case, what is "I-Mod Techviewer"? The site is still down for me, so I can't check myself.
I'd prefer if you didn't use them, but who's to stop 2 people from using the same tech names?
A tech viewer. Stefan can tell you more. As of yet, it has not been released to the public.
Omg, you're really getting there DSep and it works, even without typos!?!
DSep, about you religion branch, you should include Athiesm.
Uhhh.... It's already in there. But now that you have brought it up ,what do the religions do, anyway?
Each one grants different bonuses, presumably.
religions are supposed to be somewhat destabilizing factors and yet somewhat balancing. They include major bonuses in some areas and major penalties in others. Also, in a future release other religions may be added, but they aren't a priority atm.
If only I-Mod could return to its formal stable connection to the web, i'd ask when their Tech-Tree tool will become available to everyone beside a few "Insiders" such as you Dave.
Cuz, i'm deep into fixing XW6A final version and i could use a visual reference of that work instead of having to patchup a bunch of snapshots such as this...
Lemme guess: the long, multi-colored bar is tech victory. I'd post my tree, except that 1) It's not finished, and 2) I don't know a good, free image host site. I suppose I could google it, but there is nothing I would use it for at the moment.
No, it's lasers.
I mostly use ImageShack because it's quick and convenient. I used to use Photobucket but you do have to register and login.
Yep, version XW05F had all the TradeGoods "outside" the pathways on purpose (even in the weapons, btw) to focus players' attention on what's new... but, now (as initially intended) the tricky slowdown of key research nodes is activated!
If anyone reaches Tech-Victory with that DA tree, they are extremely smart & efficient gamers, since not only the number of obstacles are there but also for WHAT effects these have on abilities & PIs upgrading patterns. To give you a simple hint, the Apocalypse Mega-Primus thread will give players a huge puzzle to solve.
Not counting Enhanced Espionage stuff, Terraforming & Extreme (of the real but weird kind) colonizations.
I'm still stuck on the new Invasion tactics with Tanks, Subs & Grenades, etc but that has more to do with the extra Troops modules necessary which won't load up anything aboard transports -- but i will probably find another indirect way to integrate this stuff with Espionage too... maybe in XW07+.
(PS; Sorry for hi-jacking your thread DSep but it was the only way for me to ask for the I-Mod tech-tree tool!)
(PS2; I also use "Image Shack"... steady & reliable, fast & user friendly.)
the public version will be out soon enough (i think), so don't worry....anyway:
