For all you Star Wars fans, I've finished off the latest version of a mod which adds the Alliance and Empire as new races. This is a playable versus the existing Tech/Advent/Vasari races, and balanced against them.
"Star Wars - Requiem" is a mod for Sins of a Solar Empire - Entrenchment and Diplomacy that brings the following:
2 new race; Alliance and Empire 6 new strike craft; TIE Fighters, TIE Bombers, TIE Interceptors, X-Wings, B-wings and A-wings. 11 new frigates; Nebulon B, Nebulon B2, Lancer Frigate, Tartan Patrol Craft, Carrack Gunship, Corellion Gunships, Corellion Corvettes, Siege Frigate Mk II, MC30b series, Acclamator I frigates and Galofree Transports 9 new cruisers, Interdictor, Enforcer, Escort Carrier, Loronar Strike cruiser, MC40a light carriers, Nebulon B escorts, Bulk cruisers, Assault Frigate Mk I and Dreadnaughts 9 new capital ships; Victory II-class Star Destroyer, Victory IIC-class carrier Star Destroyer, Imperator-class Star Destroyer, Imperial II-class Star Destroyer, Mon Calamari 80 and 80a, Mon Calamari Defiance and Libery class and Venator-class battlecruisers. 2 new starbase: the Alliance XQ1 platform and the Empire with an Executor Super Star Destroyer starbase model 3 new weapons; concussion missles, proton torpedos and ion cannons 60 new ship names with unique Alliance and Imperial star destroyer names 23 new music themes consisting of ambient and battle soundtracks over dozens of new ship audio and sound effects Star Wars player portraits Alliance and Empire icon symbols a modified Alliance and Imperial research tree, with unique abilities (Interdiction, Tractor Beam, Shield Focus. Boarding Party, Rebel Defenders etc,) Star Wars EU immersion through appropriate ship use, laser color replacement for all ships and text descriptions updated

Hey guys, first I want to say that you all are very talented on what you can do and I wish I had a fraction of the skills that you show on this thread. Came across this site where all the images on done on a computer, some in excess of 30 million polys, triangles? Don't know the jargon. We have wanted to do the trade ships for a while, but they've never been a particularly high priority. I'm pretty sure the Alliance trade ships will be some kind of YT model (perhaps even a 1300 if we don't use it anywhere else), and the refinery ship will probably be a freighter like the one you suggested. Not sure if the Empire will have a unique trade ship or not, since the only iconic ship they have are Lambdas and they are a bit too small for Sins' scale.
@G_Bison: Wow those are very nice pictures indeed. I'm sure we will all be awaiting the day when they release Sins 3 that can handle models like that (or rather we have computers good enough to handle a game with that). And yes polygons and triangles are usually interchangeable.
the requiem mod is highly unstable,i have the latest update of the mod for entrenchment after 10minutes it will crash the game mini dump,and secondly disabling the mod at the main menu will cause your game to crash yet agian i had to disable it by removing it from my sins mod folder thats sad,and i know there is nothing wrong with the game its the mod
I have no problem playing this mod.. It runs perfectly..I play the Entrenchment version for a very long time now, and I had absolutelly no crash so far...only play 30 planets max with low fleet capacity, but that's the way I like it (I dont' like to save and load the game later, so I finish it in one go)...and it's very smooth despite my pc being about 5 years old
For anyone wondering about the new Diplomacy patch.
Requiem Diplomacy will not be updated for the 1.2 Beta, we will be waiting until the official 1.2 patch (in about a week according to Stardock). This means if you want to play Requiem for the duration of the Beta, please do not update your game. If you really want to play both, check the linked SoaSE thread for details on how to archive your game before you update.Also since I and/or Jason will be going through updating the whole mod soon, this is an ideal time to make suggestions in the development forum.
It is your graphics settings. If they are too high your game will run out of memory and crash (even if those levels worked fine in Vanilla), as is the case with every large mod. Removing it was unnecessary, deleting your enabledmods.txt would have been just fine.
hey, wassup! long time no... er, type. Any new abilities in the works? It seems as though your cap ships erm, lack polish. I keep having to edit them to make em functional. Its a downer. THIS MOD ROCKS WOOKIEE SOCKS! which are 120% bigger than normal socks. Unless you're andre the giant.
also, Idk if you remember, but a long ass time ago I sent you guys the (updated) files for the executor from another SW mod... um, idk if that is the same model you're using, but the one you are using seems a bit too large. If you reduce its scale by about, say, 45-60%, it'd be much more aesthetically pleasing and such. 'cause right now it looks like lex steele.
The Victory IIC-class carrier Star Destroyer should really be a Venator-class Star Destroyer, the Venator is more of a carrier than the Victory II could ever be; if you really want a battlecruiser, the Imperial-class Star Battlecruiser would be a better choice (the Eclipse's escorts and the Allegiance from Dark Empire, almost certainly the Imperial Star Battlecruisers from the Imperial era).

Yes, there are some new abilities in the works. Provided they don't take to long to get polished up, they should be in the update for Diplomacy 1.2 (which will be wonderful just for the performance increase ). Feel free to suggest some more if you have any ideas on the website's development forum.
As for the SSD, you'll have to talk to Jason about why it is the size it is, though it is a pretty easy fix. I'd like to know if its a pretty wide spread opinion first though.
I suppose it would be quite possible to switch the the roles of the Victory IIC and the Venator. If I'm thinking of the right Star Battlecruisers, those are bigger than the ISD classes (thus not comparable as the Victory/Venator are starting Capital ships), and actually the Venator is fulfilling the Siege capital role.
Well, now I know what is fulfilling what role, the Tector-class Star Destroyer or the previously mentioned Imperial-class Star Battlecruiser (named a SSD on Wookieepedia but is really representative of a Star Battlecruiser) would probably be a better choice. Anything other than the Venator, because she carries so many fighters and is oddly enough the sister ship to the Victory.
At this point I'm actually leaning towards the Victory I, as if my memory serves me correct they were capable of atmospheric operations like the Acclimator, and thus would have more use in planetary assaults. Since few ships were designed solely for planetary bombardment (unlike Sins) that's what we prefer to go with for siege roles.
That said I am hoping that the Tector class will be included sometime, but not in the near future.
As I said, anything other than the Venator for siege capital ship, because the Venator is the best candidate for carrier capital ship instead of a fanon Victory II carrier variant. I am surprised no one noticed this before. The Victory I is probably the easiest to do since the Victory II is already in. Your memory serves you correctly, GoaFan77, the Victory I is capable of atmospheric operations like the Acclamator I and II along with the Venator. The Victory I or one of the ships I previously mentioned is fine by me, I am merely presenting alternatives based on what is currently in and what I know about Star Destroyers.

Actually fleet supply mods (provided they don't do anything else) should be compatible with Requiem. If you have on you use just enable it with Requiem.

Sorry for the waste of time GoaFan77. One last question if I may that got me into this mess in the 1st place and Im 100% sure you've heard this question more then once. But the mod does work with the current patch? I just have to move it into the current patch folder and remove the other (which doesnt exsist now that I reinstalled) right? or em i being retarded again and need enlightinment?

I know for sure it works with Diplomacy 1.34 and pretty sure it works with Entrenchment 1.053 (I just played for 10 minutes but everything seemed fine). If you run into trouble just post on the other thread (we switched to that one so any Requiem team member can edit it, so Jason doesn't have to give up his Stardock account ) or on the website.

After playing for hours I have found I think two issues ;x Empire Tree "Regimented Thought" will not work you can spend the credits for it but it will not upgrade at all and I also cannot create "Lancer Frigates" same deal can spend the credits but nothing happens.
Edit > < Fasle alarm everything works now and made sure EVERYTHING works on empire side I dont wanna do rebels D: but meh Im sure it works but I'll check for ya
