So I have been wondering for a while and the search feature on these forums do not work for me.
We have technology upgrades that can be researched for ships that enhance
A. Hull points
B. Shield points
C. Attack value
D. Armor value
E. Antimatter
and a few etc etc's
Where are the tech's that enhance your ships speeds, turning radius, faster phase jumps, faster star jumps, faster wormhole jumps? I find it hard to believe these would be overlooked. Have they been tucked away for future expansions? I know a couple of those are answered by artifacts but the techs would not have to be as powerful.
I feel like they left a large area untapped.
You do make an interesting point. I hadn't really thought about it before.
Even if they didn't plan it for a future expansion, they could put it in one.
However, the space based RTS games that I recall off the top of my head don't have research for these either.
Well TEC already has faster phase jumps, and better turning circles (This one for capital ships only). Another race has can jump slightly inside the grav well research.
I would expect that one to belongs to the Vasari with all their research on phase jumps that they have. I could be wrong though.
It's a Vasari 5th tech level research. I don't find that it helps too much though.
I'd love a tighter turning radius/more maneuverability upgrade for Vasari, though : D
Thanks for the confirmation. I usually use the Advent, but I haven't been able to play for a while (time limitations).
I always play as Advent too, but pop onto TEC once a blue moon. I was unaware of those upgrades but it seems like there is still a large area lacking.
Well artifacts can improve in-star and between-star jump speeds, and TEC have upgrades for turning circle and jump-calculation. As for wormhole jumps, they're instantaneous anyway, so I'm not sure how you could improve that...
The only one that is missing is ships-speed upgrades. This might be nice, but I have a feeling that ship speeds are carefully calibrated to allow each fleet to always be able to catch at least some units of the other. I'm sure that it could work with a small boost to speed though.

Basically, the first armor upgrade (T3) is +1 per rank, the second (T4) is another +1 per rank (so +4 by this point), while the third is +0.5 armor and -4% mass per rank IIRC.

And frankly, I think it'd be a wasted tech, since on most maps, there aren't that many wormholes and many maps are only a single star.

So, to the OP, I'd say that most of the things you listed are already in the game, just not necessarily for the race you play. Some things are limited to artifacts, too.
