Alright...now that we have the final version of Entrenchment I've got install problems.
I uninstalled both SOASE and Entrenchment from Impulse and tried re-installing them. Entrenchment says that it still deteccts my Beta files and that I need to remove them and retry. I've un-installed using Impulse and the VISTA Control Panel 5 more times and re-installed 5 times and I get the same message over and over.
Any fixes to this?
There is one Entrenchment registry key, that I deleted to circumvent the total redownload: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Stardock > Drengin.net > SinsEntrench (and maybe > Sins as well)
Maybe they weren't deleted properly during uninstall, so you could try to delete them manually. That's totally a guess though!
support@stardock.com is probably your best bet to solve such problems. Describe to them what you tried and your system specs, driver versions etc.
Thank you Bravenue, that is correct. the entire 'fix' is;
You will need to manually remove the game folder, and delete 2 Registry Keys before you'll be able to re-install.Go to C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire (or where ever you installed the game) and delete the main folder.Then launch the System Registry (Start-> run, and type regedit)Look for and delete the following Keys;HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Drengin.net\sinsHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Drengin.net\sinsentrenchFor Vista 64 bit;HKLM>SOFTWARE>Wow6432Node>Stardock>Drengin.net>sinsHKLM>SOFTWARE>Wow6432Node>Stardock>Drengin.net>sinsentrenchThen, reboot your PC and go back to Impulse and try installing the base game. Make sure it installs to 1.13 version, test it out before then installing entrenchment.
I've done that twice now and I still get the message saying it detects Entrenchment beta files.
Sorry this didn't help. Have you tried uninstalling the WHOLE game? I recomend RevoUninstaller, since it checks if the 'native' uninstaller has left files or registry keys.
Had you installed to a different folder than the default install?
If Sins & Entrenchment are your only Stardock products, you could just delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock Key
