Hey can you buy the mini expansion in a store, and if not how secure is impulse, i mean if my hardrive crashes what happens. Thank You.
Nope. You can redownload if you want from Impulse at any time.
Impulse is like Steam or Direct to Drive, you make an account and your games are tied to that account. So if you're HDD crashes, you can redownload it free of charge on your account. Of coures, you'd have to get Impulse again, which would take all of 41 seconds.
Also if you think downloads will be slow your wrong. Impulse is surprisingly fast. Mush faster then steam. Steam takes about an hour to tranfer 1G, Impulse seems to do it in 10 minutes for me.
k thanks for the info i think ill get entrenchment thanks
Create archive files and store them seperately = no dl required!!!
Except you also need IE7 apparently.
Here I was ready to buy entrenchment and when I get Impulse it says "I'm sorry, you can't be our customer anymore"
Well I can't argue with Impulse I guess.
Back to using steam, which works.
Even if you do not use IE, leaving an unupdated copy on your machine is still a security risk, so there's really no reason that an IE7 requirement should be objectionable. It was pushed as a critical windows update more than a year ago.
And if you're still running Win2k, Sins/Entrenchment does not support it anyway--min req is XP.
Exinjeru are you saying impulse blocked your account somehow due to running IE7 or something? sorry i just dont understand. Ive ran firefox and IE6 for a while with no errors like that...
edit: wait a second, i dont run IE7..its at 6...something. i run firefox 3.0.6...if IE7 is a requirment, how the heck is it workng for me? lol.
How could someone not have IE7? It's built into XP and if you don't keep yourself updated you're only asking for security problems. I never use IE7 except for one site that requires it, but I sure make sure I'm up to date with it. Frankly you are very dumb for not keeping it updated.
Is there any way to buy entrenchment if you don't have a credit card? (It's much less common to have one in Europe, and I happen not to own one).
I am all fine with downloading it on Impulse, but buying it elsewhere would be nice (i.e. buying a Key somewhere or somehting like that).
You can use Paypal, or a prepaid debit card should work just as well as long as it's one of the major brands (Visa, Mastercard, etc.. assuming they have those in Europe?).
If all else fails, you can send an email to sales@stardock.com and ask for payment options, they will probably refer you to this order form: https://www.stardock.com/order.txt
But I'd advise talking to them first if you have to go that route just to make sure that's how to do it.
got me. microsoft even allows critical updates for even pirated versions of windows. *oops*
its also amazing that all these torrent program adept people can't get impulse running.
but, meh. its all been said before.
Paypal: I recognize the option is there, it's nice in theory, but I will probably never trust that company after all I heard about it.
Visa, Mastercard, etc: Would be the last option, I'd have to get it first (Meh, will cost more then the game )
The form does not include entrenchment?
So I take it, there is not other way to buy entrenchment other than Impulse? And now other way planned?
Correct
Not at present. There is talk about a combined pack in the shops once all 3 expansions are released, but that is speculation at this point in time...
It hasn't been updated, and that's why I suggested you e-mail them first. I really doubt they'd mind if you write it in there.
I reckon some people think that Impulse requires IE7 to be the default browser for Impulse to work...

...which is not the case at all. It is next to impossible (unless you've been doing very peculiar things to your computer) to be able to run Sins but not IE7.
