I had forgotten this little detail, but the Vasari dreadnaught has a passive talent that increases phase missile dps against orbital structures - does this include starbases? If I'm reading the patch notes right at 55 structure dps, this would make a Vulkoras better per credit and per supply than starfish at taking down starbases. I wonder if this was the reason Vasari didn't get anti-structure cruisers.
If this is the case, maybe we'll see several of these show up in starbase assault fleets, as well as a Spider Flower / Arachni-Tulip / Surprise Starbase.
Starbases, along with all other structures, have their new MODULE armor type. So yes, it affects all of them
Annatar, do you have a chart with all the types of damage vs. the types of armor?
Nope. But the chart is basically in gameplay.constants, which is always in text so you can just open it and look. Of course, you'd also have to look at the ships to see which of the attack types they have
There isn't a chart online updated for Entrenchment though, I don't think.
Add another for the Vasari. Im starting to feel the a lack of love for the TEC. At least we still have the Marza.
Are you serious? Try zapping a starbase with a Cielo's target marker for +40% damage, and let loose some Ogrovs. It's so effective that I was seriously considering writing a suggestion post to take starbases off the valid targets list for the Cielo.
Well, buff my bumpers. Thats what I get for not teching Mark Target and/or not building enought Cielo. I stand corrected.
Also note that the Vasari took a major hit in this last patch, as the damage percentages vs. structures was decreased for most attack types (100% down to 75%, 50% down to 35%, etc.), so the Vasari are even less effective against starbases than they used to be, unless they can manage to spend almost three minutes building a starbase of their own in an enemy well (not possible if your opponent is also Vasari or micromanages his bombers well). Sure, this affects all races, and the Ogrov and Adjudicator were balanced downwards as well, but that just means it takes non-Vasari a bit longer to kill the enemy SB and have to depend more on their torpedo ships, it doesn't actually make it less POSSIBLE to kill one.
yes I have found that a small/meduim fleet with ~10 TEC anti structure ships can eliminate a fully upgraded vasari starbase with ease (in beta 2.5 with full tactical support from the planet). Beta 3 I have too many minidumps to get to mid game. Vasari SB should see Anti structure ships as a more serious threat than they do now. Has anyone else seen this happen? Maybe the 30% damage upgrade helps balance this.
Maybe I should clarify what I ment by the lack of love for the TEC. I was stating Cap wise. The Advent have very good synergys. Vasari have some of the hardest hitting abilities out there vs single targets. TEC...Eh, we got Missle Barrage and Flak Burst. Dont get me wrong now, Im not crying or yelling Unbalanced. Since I play TEC. To be honest I wouldnt change a thing. Ok well maybe just 1. The Kol Gauss shot. I wish it either reduced armor or at least penetrated shields. But its minor and Im sure I can mod it.
Yeah your right about Vasari getting a nerf the with damage changes. That will make the Vulkoras even more importaint!!! YaY!!!! for making caps importaint! So one could almost say that the Vulkoras are the anti structure ship for the Vasari??
I like that.
It always was.
Assault Specialization does inflict damage to Star bases, although you are misinterpreting the value as DPS when it is additional flat damage on its normal attacks with Phase Missiles (i.e. not Phase Missile Swarm or its other weapons)
