Since i've updated to version 1.14 each time I go on custom maps or map desginer my game crashed. This is what is says:
Runtime Error!
Program: ... Games/Sins of a Solar Empire/Sins of a Solar Empire.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information
Any ideas on how to fix this????????
EDIT: harpo and enera's idea wrked perfectly!
you have to remove ALL galaxy files older than 20 feb 2009 in
(C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy(32 bit) or
C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy(64 bit)) AND
C:\Documents and Settings\"user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy (xp) or
C:\users\"user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy).
an alternative is to do a windows search of the hard drives for all galaxy files (ie *.galaxy) then click on more advanced options and put a tick in search hidden files & folders BEFORE clicking on search
hope this helps

I've got a similar problem - crash upon trying to open the Map Designer or switching to the custom map-list. However, I don't get a runtime error but a pretty normal CTD and a .dmp file.
Does deleting those maps also work for this problem?
And another thing:
The maps saved in C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy seem to be the standard maps which can be used in SoaSE. All of them are older than the 20th (19th, respectively some 18th). Doesn't deleting those remove all standard maps from the game?
EDIT: I deleted only the files in the C:\Documents and Settings\"user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy -directory and the game doesn't crash anymore. Seems to be resolved.
