Seems nearly impossible to catch up to someone after dying the first time or two. The advantage can't be made up unless the other player really starts to slack off.
Also, at this point when you know the game is semi-lost it seems as if the games can really drag on well past the time that it is safe to pack it in and rest up your fingers for the next match. Is there a plan to add a resign button and for me, a Waaah! button?
Ive died twice at the start and still won the game successfully. Quite a few times too..
Any advice then Dalzk? i get the same problem especially at the beginning where its quite easy for them to be lvl 5 and me only lvl 2 from only one death!
Sounds like you are missing a key point. They are not lvl 5 from killing you, but from killing lots of minions. The gap is likely increased because you spent time dead, but you can make it up quickly. Play hit and run and don't focus on the demigods, hit minions and flags, while avoiding enemy demigods for a bit. Quickily you will be up to a similar lvl and with a decent amount of cash. Remember, in general, most of your experience comes from minion kills, while money comes from demigod and tower kills.
Well said Trigeminal. And remember gap between level 2 - 5 is a lot smaller than you think - not the same as gap between 9-12 and can be made up quickly when the other DG goes back to crystal to reheal.
Yes I think I am starting to catch on to that. Almost to the point that flags can mean much less production than just farming NPC's for levels at the beginning.
BTW I only rage quit once yesterday. Not bad. And that was just because my team was annoying.
Yeah, i've had this problem before too. In Demigod and DotA. It's important to get lots of minion kills and to know when to back off so you don't have to make trips back to heal up. The trip may take only a minute or two total, but it's that time that gives the enemy a level or two. Keep track of other players on the minimap and know where the enemies are missing. If possible, coordinate ambushes on enemies who are by themselves farming minions. In DotA, this usual grants a lot of XP to all who are in the area, i'm 99% sure it's the same thing in Demigod.
if your team has 2-3 deaths on their side early on it isn't that hard to make a come back if you are actually equally skilled as your opponents and they just got a good combo or your team messed up a bit in the beginning, but if your team just is weaker skillwise then the other team you probably won't be able to turn the tide.
I thought all hope was lsot in a match yesterday, but then I buckled down and really started trying my best. My team came back and won the match. Comebacks are possible, but it might be because I play rook.
yes, comeback is possible. especially with rook. he is kinda weak in the beginner, but strong late endgame. He is almost a one hit killer. Boulder roll and hammer slam max will bring any demigod down to just a few hundred hitpoints. A few extra hits or if a demigod partner next to you is almost unstoppable.
the real tide turners are the spawn upgrades tho
if you get catapultes out s significant time before your opponent can then it can open up many more oppuratunities to keep them respawning
controling neutral portals is also a big thing
then again i guess every thing i just said was obvious
It comes down to playing better. You die when you slip up. So it just follows logic that the next time you're going to have to not slip up to not die. And the difficult thing is you have to play *that* much better than the other guy to make up for lost time. but it's winnable. Take any fighting game tournament player. It could go either way every time. No matter how outmatched you seem to be there is nearly always a way. In Demigod, numerical superiority gives way to teamwork and effective usage of skills.
Remember not to get spawned updates too early as you will feed your enemies farming. sometimes its better to get XP or gold upgrade before spawning additional units. unless you want to feed the monster then go ahead.
Usually the only citadel upgrades I go for are the creatures. The rest of the cash usually goes towards my demi-god until late.
i usually play with and against bots so i get the money upgrades for my self and expiriance upgrades for keeping the lower level bots on my team competitive
and creature upgrades to respond to enemy creature upgrades
