I just downloaded Sins of a Solar Empire Demo and got my first contact into SOASE's Universe. I discovered the existence of this game a few weeks ago and it's just the perfect game for me. Indeed, I have dreamed of a game like this for a very long time. I am now testing it with the demo so I can check how well it runs on my computer.
I'm using the opportunity to introduce myself to the community and hopes to meet you in game soon!

Sins is a great game that can whittle the hours away shockingly fast. For people who like this sort of game, Sins really comes across as a masterpiece.

You'll probably be happy to know that since the demo it's gotten quite a bit better (both in gameplay with tweaks, and performance). And the first mini-expansion is wrapping up the beta test and will be out soon, too.
And as was mentioned - if you have any questions, feel free to ask. We don't bite around here (much)!

And as of now, it runs pretty well on my computer. It seems indeed really efficient on the hardware usage. I can't wait to play online with other players.

Come to think of it, I do remember seeing some news about SOASE during the developpment of the game way before release, but most of my gaming attention was directed on something else (World of Warcraft) and therefore, I forgot about it and missed the release...
But I am here, finally.
