I am new to the game, but I feel that once you have paid for and researched any thing. The losing of a research lab should not prevent you from building any items you have already unlocked. That is a major wrong being done to all the players and I hope it is fixed.
Another wrong, the ships should group attack without being told to do so. That is something the training of the captian should know. It kills ships quicker, there is a good bit of hand holding that has to be done and it should not be and the ships not attacking as one unit is a perfect example.
I hope there is a way to point this out so it can included in the next update, please let me know anyone.
you're wrong.
losing techs when you lose the needed research facilities makes perfect sense.
otherwise you could just research all you need and then get rid of the structures .
or use it as a tactical advantage when you attack your enemy, quickly shoot down his labs so he cannot rebuild his fleet.
secondly focus fireing is generally not a good thing.
search the forums for shield migration and you know what I mean.
Ya, that would be odd; reasearch to lvl 9 stuff, then scrap all 18+ labs without any penalty, and STILL be able to do/build all you reseached? Being able to build Crusers with just one frigate factory and Super Weapons to your hearts content? Add to that nobody would need to protect their labs much any more; put them on the front lines even.
Ships go after what they are best at shooting down; if you focus fire (and I do quite a bit), "Sheild Migration" reduces the damage that single ship takes by quite a bit (not to mention, you can have all your repair ships and shield restoring ships concentrate on the targeted ship). Microing your ships "can" help a lot in this game, but is not required (thank goodness).
I usually just allow my fleets just to kill whatever they please, i usually use repaire drones so it doesn't really matter for me, but u could use your fleet just to attack one ship at a time, just click it urself.h
Really? I have the problem of my fleets routinely all engaging the same target. It really pisses me off, TBH. I can't find a way to surpress that behavior.
Probably the PeferstoFocusFire line in the entity files.
This has been discussed before. Just imagine the conversation on the Deck of a TEC Novalith.
"Cap'in sir, we've just lost one of our military labs!"
"Oh blasted, now we have to pretend to forget that we know how to push the big red fire button."
I don't have a problem with the way the game is now; it's just part of the game and a strategic consideration that deepens the strategy aspect of the game. It might be argued that the labs produce parts and ammo for ships and facilities, so when one gets destroyed you no longer have the stuff it makes.
i don't know of any tech that prevents and ship or installation from shooting anything.
it's just the new types of ships and buildings that cannot be constructed anymore which makes perfect sense.
as far as I know all your present ships and structures keep all updates, hull, shields, weapons and abilities even if you lose that tech-tree.
you just can't rebuild them until you get your labs back.
Superweapon firing actually depends on the lab count. That's the only thing
Thanks everyone for the info, I didn't look at in the frame that you have and I see your points. Thanks again.
The labs just don't research the Techs, they makes all the special parts/devises that make them work too. We already know how to make computers, but if someone destroyes the computer labs around here, there's no parts comming to make more till you build another lab (or import from China )
