Siber Systems , the developers of popular applications like RoboForm and GoodSync, now have these two applications available on Impulse!
RoboForm is a super-charged password manager that is full of features. It is compatible with popular browsers such as IE and Firefox, allowing you to fill registration and checkout forms with just a click. You can also encrypt passwords, generate new passwords, back up and copy them between PC’s, and much more.
GoodSync is a file backup and synchronization application. It automatically analyzes, synchronizes, and backs up your emails, precious family photos, contacts, MP3s, financial documents, and other important files locally - between desktops, laptops, servers, external drives, and Windows Mobile devices, as well as remotely through FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, and more.
Each application is available on Impulse for $23.95, which is a savings of 20% off of retail.
I have had Roboform for years--It is a GREAT product!!!!!
does roboform work for chrome? (and win 7?)
RoboForm is not yet available for Chrome but it has full support for IE/Firefox.
Preliminary testing on the beta of Windows 7 shows that RoboForm does work but we can't offer support until MS makes an official release
Thanks for the update, SDavis!
Doesn't work in Opera either. I have used Roboform for many years, and I would hate to be without it.
I'm loving GoodSync .
. . . although it seems to be the 32 bit version. THeir website says they offer a native 64 bit version as well, and the 64 bit version can copy locked files on a 64 bit OS.
Would it be possible to have Impulse detect the OS and donload/install the right one?
In addition - the about box claims it to be a TRIAL version, even though I paid for it? It doesn't look like it expires, but what's up wiith that??
. . . and send word back up to Siber that the "Send Sync results to this email" doesn't work very welll on 64 bit Vista using Outlook 2007. Even if I tell Outlook to allow it, it oddly still fails.
@Cobra1: 64 bit version of GoodSync available here: http://www.goodsync.com/download/GoodSync-Setup-x64.exe
Go to Help --->Activate and enter your license key to activate your Pro version
Regarding the log issue, please go to support.goodsync.com
-PS Yes I do work for Siber
Does it work when transferring between 32 and 64 bit versions? I'm currently running Vista 32 but upgrading to 64, hence the question.
I'm looking into having Impulse detect 32/64 bit and install the proper executable
the simplest way of detecting 32/64 bit is to look for a directory "%windir%\program files (x86)\" if it exists then it is 64bit if it does not then itis 32bit (by the way internet explorer on 64bit os's installs in BOTH program files & program files (x86) so the directory will exist if 64bit
harpo
Annatar11: porting from 32-bit GS to 64-bit GS should not be a problem since the application data is the same
There are Microsoft supplied APIs that they can use. Folders can be remapped, so they are not a reliable way of detecting the OS type. It's always far better to find the right way to do something rather than using "tricks" that can be broken in non-obvious ways.
Thanks SDavis for the info, and I'll take a closer look at my issue and contact support tonight.
Thanks Zoomba for taking a look.
Thanks. I'm thinking I'll pick it up then.
I had no issues - when I uninstalled the 32 bit version and installed the 64 bit version, all of my jobs were still there.
Zoomba: Is there a way to tell when the 64 bit version is available directly from Impulse?
I have owned RoboForm and GoodSync sice before Stardock brought it under the Impulse umbrella. I was wondering how I can register my copies so that I can perform updates and etc. through Impulse.
Thanks,
SteveLe
Cobra: When the build number in Impulse updates (it's at .014 and .001 for Roboform and GoodSync currently). The next update will be with the 64-bit installers.
The hold-up at the moment is I have to write an installer stub to pick which version to install.
stevele1615: Unfortunately you can not register your non-Impulse purchased copy with Impulse. You will need to continue to go Siber Systems directly for the updates.
No problem. I just created a link to the 64 bit version of GoodSync in Impulse.
. . . and FYI - I'm just finding more ways to sync with it all the time - great program, glad I found it!! The FTP sync is great for maintaining a website with, even . It also does a nice job at backing up a dynamic website as well. I've been looking for something like this for a long time.
Thanks again SDavis and Siber for making GoodSync .
I recommend GoodSync wholeheartedly. One of my previous companies bought a license or two and it was VERY reliable. Better than SyncToy, etc. etc.
There are many great features available to you once you register, including:
