This has probably been brought up many times before, but just wanted to throw in my two cents. Targeting demigods (sometimes even yourself) can be difficult in a thick of a melee. This has become really apparent when trying out Sedna. I love her Healing ability and her playstyle, honestly she will probably be what I play when the game goes live. However, it is very very difficult to target a friendly moving demigod with a heal when they need it most.
I would suggest a HUD that displays your allied Demigod's, similar to a party window display in an MMO. Icons along the left side of the screen each representing one of your allies, and a healthbar underneath. You should be able to activate your heal and use the portrait as a target, if the demigod is in range.
I think this will go a long way to making Sedna more playable.
This has been suggested. I will second if the HUD is small and collapsable.
Definitely a good idea.
For the time being, here's a couple things you can play with to make things easier:
1. Press ~ and toggle through health bars until you arrive at the 'Show all Demigods' mode. This makes keeping track of friendly and enemy Demigods easier.
2. When using abilities you want to affect Demigods with, press CTRL to enter the alternate Demigod only targeting mode.
I support that idea.

Those are important tips. They might be useful as game tips in addition to the uber-obvious ones currently in place.
Thanks for the tips and I support the idea of the OP. (For Generaly) It should also be possible to make your minions displayed as little icons with a little healthbar so that you know how they are doing and how many you currenty have and of which type they are.
don't put too much stuff on the interface, I'm with hellchick there. The Demigod targetting only mode is cool btw

I'd also like to see TF2 style pop-up emotes to convey basic quick information. An ally will see them pop onscreen from your direction and briefly ping the minimap:
press E and a little '+' pops up over your DG, means you need a heal.
press R and a little "stopsign = +" pops up, saying "stop running away, I'm trying to heal you"
press F and a little house sign pops up, means you need to go back to citadel
these are small UI tweaks, but they can make a big difference for a team that isn't on Vent
