Well, you pc looks pretty close to mine, faster processor, not by much though. I've got an Nvidia 8500 GT with 512 megs of memory.. Mine runs the game pretty good. I don't get any sort of slowdowns unless the map is HUGE and I've been playing for hours. I like to toy with the AI, built up my economy and then wipe them out.
I would say get another gig of ram though, Vista will probably need it. (From what I've heard.. I have little experience with Vista)
I would say that it will probably handle large maps pretty well (but don't quote me on that) I have an HP laptop with pretty much the same specs and it runs great. The one thing you might want to consider upgrading is the RAM. Vista is memory hog, and needs as much as possible. I have 4 GB, but other than that mine is pretty much identical (not sure about the video card, though) And if you get the Entrenchment beta, mines will make your computer slow to a halt, although it does that with most computers. Other then the RAM, I'd say that it looks good.
kk, thx for the input guys
You should instead go to your local PC builder. Not the large off the shelf store. Your local guy running his small buisness and give him your bugget and what you want and i am sure he can offer your somehtign much moreinteresting then this. Also i would stay away from visra unlest you buy a bomb because vista will suck up alot of your cpus resorces. XP Pro would be a better choise for a gamming rig at the moment.
Your's will do just fine.
I play large maps on this (though I have to turn the graphics down for LAN or Internet games to prevent lag):
Dual Core AMD Opteron Processor 180 2.41 GHz
1 GB RAM
256 MB Nvidia GeForce 7600GT (GT or GTS; can't remember)
160 GB hardrive
Windows XP Pro
So far, I've found that aboul all I have to do is keep the planets' graphics on medium or low and pretty much no lag. (everything else at highest) And yes, I've played multi-sytem maps online, so your's will definately work well.
Idk if I have a local pc builder but ill check, thx again for input!
Does entrenchment have different cpu reccomendations?
like the RAM, Memory, etc. ???
