Title says it all:
Go for it people!
And for those who dont understand what I'm saying, read Hot, Flat, and Crowded by THomas Friedman.
Congratulations, all you crazy impassioned internet people - reply # 300!!!
Now how do we feel about the Death Penalty?
That would be another argument with one rational side and one irrational side. Exterminating people that insist on behaving like animals just doesn't feel right! Arguing with the same idiots over bullshit backed by myth is getting old.
Just one reason to at least temper one's enthusiasm.
"The recent error doesn’t change findings that Arctic ice is retreating, the NSIDC said. "
Which misses the point, of course.
The point would be what? That technology is fallable but that the margin of error makes up for it anyway?
Which point would you like, I can come up with dozens. I'll start with this; ice extent is irrelevant because our minuscule record of it says absolutely nothing. So it goes poof and reappears every year, what's to say it wasn't doing the same thing fifty years ago? We started measuring it when people were spelling doom by ice age, remember? The seventies were cold.
Of course, his point is probably that scientists are morons just like the rest of us are, and can't get their shit right if their life depends on it.
So anyone here mentioned either Z-Homes or how Amphibians are dying off at remarkable rates?
The first of the two subjects is neato banditto, homes that produce more energy anually than they use . (It's happening in my home state).
Secondly a collection of creatures that have survived as long as the dinosaurs are finally meeting their match in humans. Kind of funny how we are more dangerous than millions of years of natural disasters, disease, and radiation.
As for Ice Comments, a professor of ours showed pictures of when she was flying over Greenland way back when (old lady) and then showed the most recent ones. The entire span was once covered entirely in snow and ice save for some choice spots now its almost entirely thawed out. There are tons of places like that that haven't been out from under ice in thousands of years and are now entirely barren (or green if the climate is right).
Lord knows that scientific advances have done nothing but to harm us and shorten our lifespans . I know every single good thing that has ever happened had nothing to do with technology or science, like the wheel, I'm just glad Gabriel brought it down from heaven so that we could push our carts around. (Joking of course).

The debate over global warming will probably continue for the next 20 years or more... some might even argue the global warming will help prevent the next ice age!
In any case the real problem is global problems don't have global recognition and global teamwork. So even if the USA drastically changes toward using only solar, electric and wind power... the vast majority of other nations will not change until they and us truly feel the major longterm effects. Take a look at how the pollution in China is so terrible that hundreds of thousands die prematurely, yet it continues to get only worse.
Before we even consider addressing global warming... the human race should be first working towards global teamwork. There's little value when one member of a soccer team improves his endurance and skills when half of his team arrives drunk on the field.
