Hi, first let me say i never had trouble with sins running on my computer, that is until 1.12 and entrenchment.
Now whenever i start the game, the screen turns black (as if it would load) and after a few seconds, the game is closed and the only message i get is the standart windows "application error".
All my drivers are up to date so i really need some help : ) thanks
Hm, if you had Sins 1.12 before installing Entrenchment than the only possible problem (to my knowledge) might be that Sins tries to auto-load a mod. Delete or move the "Ironclad Games" folder in [USERNAME]/Application Data/Local Settings. The game will than create a new one, so you start with a new profile.

but this didnt help ^^ btw i have the same problem without entranchment, just with 1.12

i had the same problem. heres how i fixed it.
uninstalled the game and then reinstalled it,. updated it via impulse. worked after that. updating via impulse sometimes doesnt finish completely thats why my game never managed to run after updating with impulse, so everytime this happens i just uninstall sins and reinstall it again.
Redownloading the whole game again is annoying, since I get only 50kbytes/s downspeed here in middle Europe
I usually sync the whole game folder to another drive before updating.
Hmm that might have worked but i tried it allready three times...
and i really dont know if it is an installation error that happens three times in a row everytime with a complete new download... its disheartening ^^
i'll wait a bit more, and re install later if nothing else comes to mind, though i doubt i will have more luck this time
If anyone else has this problem:
i just redownloaded and reinstalled and (since four is the lucky time ^^) this time it worked
the only thing i did differently from the three times before is
once sins was finished downloading (while it was veryfying it) o went offline and shiut down my firewall
it installed i tried to start it and it worked
the i started my firewall again downloaded entrenchment and while it was veryfing i went again offline and shut down the firewall and almost magically (^^) it worked too.
