I'd guess this has been talked about, but I havn't seen anything, so I thought I'd bring it up.
I'm concerned that the multiple beta's we had, and especially the new mini-expansions will cause the already small comunity to be split up into even smaller groups.
It's a simple concept. Someone gets online, see's that very few others to play with, and then the instantly leaves. Someone else shows up a minute later and does the same thing. Thus the participation always stays low. Once we split the community up, it will pass a tipping point and suddenly the multiplayer will fall apart and never come back. This is my fear.
I have no desire to play Sins or purchase any additions to the game without the ability to enjoy multiplayer games.
I would like to see the mini-expansions remain compatible with older versions of the game so that the community can always at least default back to vanilla Sins.
Has there been any discussion on this issue I am not aware of?
Beats me, but I bought the expansion today for that reason. Sucks because some you are right the small community will likely get smaller.
The final release of Entrenchment should be compatible with those without the expansion.
The Entrancment is mainly aimed at rather large sins SINGLEPLAYR community.
Sins is full of tards who thinks that beating 4 insane AI is acomplishment...
I think they are playing sins single player to enjoy the battles and the features the game has to offer.
Not to brag about beating 4 insane AI.
The sad part is that insane AI offers more hard time to me than 95% of sins MP community.
The Entrenchment beta has only been out a few days. It's MP implications are as yet to be fully realized. With Sins theres a learning curve. "Ne che vo" It can't be helped. Peeps are still learning how to counter mines. Fight starbases and what all the new goodies in the research tree do. Be patient.I love the rush of MP with the heady thrills of victory and the crushing feeling of defeat. I play SP to be able to watch the battles a little more. As well as perfecting Flt movements. Also you can purchase Entrenchment and still play 1.12 reg. Just copy the entire file from your program file to another directory. I just have a copy of 1.12 on my desktop.
As far as finding solid online multiplayer games. I suggest getting X-fire and joining the Sins of a Solar Empire gaming ring.
