ok i redownloaded it and it was still missing, i then downloaded a fmod.dll from the web (i never a had such a file in my system) and now it´s says binkw32.dll is missing, well i downloadet it too and now it says: " _BinkShouldSkip@4 " was not found in the DLL "binkw32.dll"
well i redownloaded entrenhcment again and the error still occurs *sniff*
You have to install Entrenchment right into your old Sins folder, had the same problem before.
Oh crap, I bet I'll get an error too. I haven't gotten the green light to d/l yet though...
Hop on the sins IRC channel (Impulse's Community tab > Chat and select #sins from the dropdown). In another thread someone thinks Impulse is installing Entrenchment to an incorrect location, which would be the most likely explanation for the sudden missing file errors (since they're all there for vanilla Sins). In any case, check in about it on IRC, poke Yarlen if he's there.
He's going to hate me by the end of the day.
how can i set the install path?
I'm not home and can't install it to see what is/isn't going wrong, so you should really check with someone official to figure it out. It should be doing it automatically to make sure it's adding on to Sins.
nope sins is in c:/programme/stardock/totalgaming/sins of a solar empire
and entrenchment is in c:/programme/stardock games/sins of a solar empire
so it boils down how to tell impulse the right directory.
You can try I guess, click the blue orb > preferences > folders, that will allow you to set the default install path. There should also be a check to have it prompt you for the directory each time you install something too.
Sins 1.12: C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\Sins of a Solar Empire
Entrenchment: C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire
Looks like the incorrect install location idea is right
Try changing it and see if it works. Please post back if it does, so I can refer anyone else having issues
Several users reported this issue earlier and making sure that the download location is set to the same folder has worked for all that have updated us on the issue. This is only for the missing .dll message. If you have tried this and you are still getting the same problem please let us know.
Awesome, thank you Seabass.
Your new avatar is.. freaky.
it worked! thanks
Fixed my problem by uninstalling Entrenchment, copying 1.12 into the folder, and then reinstalling Entrenchment
It works and I can still run 1.12 for the mods
Thank you, it was ment to be just that. Only until the holidays are over will I be more disturbing than normal.
This brings up a good point. These people will likely be in the minority but Sins has to be updated to the latest version to have Entrenchment installed. If you have only installed off the DvD and never updated, then have gone through Impulse to download Entrenchment it will not work. In a semi-remote situation like that you would need to reinstall through the DvD (because it is faster) update to 1.1, then download and install Entrenchment. After that you will see that there will only be one icon for Sins: Entrenchment and no Sins. This is normal.
If you wish to keep back older versions of Sins for mods and the like you will need to install it somewhere else in your system, preferably on another drive if possible.
I think I will wait a couple of days till the bugs get worked out to Download E. Besides I am in the middle of a 9v1 campaign. 1Human against 9 hard AI's and they are not happy with me right now.
