One of the Gallery categories is "BootskinsXP", which I assume means there's some way to make use of those *.bootskin files for a Windows XP boot screen. How do I set this up?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Install Bootskin for XP.
BootSkin XP Download http://storage.stardock.com/files/bootskin_free.exe
BootSkin XP is free for non-commercial use for Windows XP only. BootSkin XP is no longer supported and is available only on an "as is" basis.
BootSkin XP Download Alternative Versions
Some drivers and bios makers "break the rules" which can cause BootSkin to not work correctly. If you experience that, you can remove BootSkin by deleting \windows\system32\drivers\vidstub.sys. And then try one these alternative versions.

Cheers!
Please know that BootSkin for XP is no longer supported and is a free software to try at your own risk. The alternate versions are the only two available and if they do not work it is unlikely that you will be able to run Bootskin for XP. Sorry for the troubles.
Seabass - No worries. BootSkin for XP worked fine for me. Stardock's stuff is always high-quality; it's really only the obscure configurations that would have trouble with it, methinks...
