Hi!
I'm looking for the dream Desktop Earth but I cannot find it anywhere on the site (or WinCustomize) except for on the preview page for DeskScapes.
Where can I download/purchase this dream?
Stardock's Desktop earth is part of the download when you purchase DeskScapes. There are serveral earth based dreams that can also be found here:
https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?libid=50&search=earth
Please let me know if this answers your question for you.
Hi and thank you for the quick response!
Yes, this (sadly) answers my question, but springs a couple of others:
Why isn't the dream available for separate purchase? I have Vista Ultimate and have no need to purchase DeskScapes (as stated on your site).
Will the dream be available for separate purshase in the future? Please let me know and I'll come back when/if it is. I won't pay $19.95 for a single dream (as I have no need for the software) when the other separate dreams are at most a quarter of that price.
No need to purchase DeskScapes when you have Vista Ultimate. You only need version 1.02 which can be downloaded here:http://sdcbase.stardock.com/bounce/?url=https://stardock.cachefly.net/dream/StardockDeskScapes.exe(sorry for the unclickable link, browser issue)You still need DeskScapes to run Stardock Dream files but if you have all of the optional updates from Microsoft downloaded then you can run DeskScapes with no trouble in Ultimate. From there you will had the DesktopEarth dream and can download several more dreams from Wincustomize.com. Please know that with out a purchase there is a download limit from Wincustomize.Let me know if you have further troubles.
When ever I have installed 1.0.2 in the past desktop earth didn't come with it and when trying to use any dynamic dream it reported that I needed to update to a newer version...
(Yes installing the correct way, and not using any trial version and using the official link to download it from).
Nope, that program (already installed, but I redownloaded it and reinstalled it, no difference) only gives me these dreams:
Question still stands: Where can I download/purchase Desktop Earth separate, without purchasing the full DeskScape application (that I don't need)?
BagronkeN - The Desktop Earth dream is a dream file and requires Deskscapes to run. My apologies for the confusion as it must no longer be part of the bundle.
You can purchase the master dream from here: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=293&libid=50
fumanchu2001 - Did you mean 1.02 or 1.0.2? That is a big difference.
Yes, I know that .dream-files require DeskScapes to run and I've had 1.02 installed all along.
When I follow that URL it says "There are no skins to display.", tried it in both Firefox and IE, no difference.
As I said, I've searched through all of Wincustomize and cannot find it anywhere. Searching for "Desktop Earth" gives me no hits, and the search results for "Earth" doesn't include Desktop Earth, and neither does the listing of dreams made by Stardock Design* (that I presume made the dream).
I've checked my Wincustomize profile for any active filters, but there are none. Do I need to have purchased the DeskScapes application to have that dream show up on Wincustomize, or what's going on?

Sorry, yes it is 1.02.
From experience I would say Desktop Earth, Water Dream, Watercolour. only come with a subscription and therefore 2.0 of deskscapes.
Which is why I bought it, however as i'm sure everyone is now aware and probably becoming tired of my problem, I cannot get any dynamic dreams to work with 2.0, and the only one that works with 1.02 is the bouncing box, which does not work in 2.0 despite my open ticket and is yet unresolved.
sfc /runnow reported no errors, and there should be no codec issue as i'm using ultimatex64, only thing I can think of is that they used to run fine on my old 19" LCD vista 32bit, AGP GPU, however now I Have built an HTPC and connect via HDMI to my 1080p HDTV, other than that I can't work it out...
BagronkeN: It looks like it was removed from the site and Seabass can still see it because he has higher level rights on the site. I will find out what is going on.
fumanchu2001: Have you installed the latest DirectX9 runtimes on your PC?
Thank you Neil.
My mistake. I will inquire on this to the design team.
in the meantime you could download this
https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=1382&libid=50
Neil: Yes I do, however running dxdiag shows that dx 10 is running if that is of any use?
And I meant; sfc /scannow
I don't think it's a stardock/deskscapes problem, rather something to do with my machine...
Tried all of the advise from tech support and even a clean/fresh isntall with no luck, as I say the difference from when it worked to the current situation is;
Intergrated graphics with my 780g mobo (3200 HD) using Vista Ultimate x64, the other thing is that the internal player will not run any dreams, only the stardock one works, I have tried to install other codecs with no result and have cleaned them from the system too.
I have tried 1.02 and 2.056, as I say 1.02 asks me to upgrade when using dynamic dreams, except that it does play bouncing box only, 2.056 does not run any dynamic dreams.
I have gotten as far as sending my dx logs to support as well as event information logs and running sfc /scannow plus the usual install/uninstall methods, after that I heard nothing back so decided to try a clean install, with no result.
Vista Ultimate x64 6.0 6001/AMD 64 X2 5000+/2 GB RAM/ATI Radeon HD 3200 (8.11 catalist)/DX 10/Panasonic PZ80 42" 1920x1080p
Neil Banfield / Seabass, any progress?
Hi, I found this thread on Google. I also want to purchase this dreamscene but I can't find it anywhere on the Internet. There is a cracked version floating around but I just want to buy this dreamscene from the publisher. What happened? Why is it removed?
Seabass, have your inquiry turn up anything?
Seabass no longer works for Stardock.
You may want to email Stardock sales to see if they have made it available for purchase again.
Oh, ok. Thanks.
