Since there is all the buzz about SoaSE: Entrenchment, I thought it would be a good idea to start thinking about what could add onto Entrenchment. Here you can speak your mind on what you think the other two expansions might be.
For example; I think there are going to be 3D's in the Expansions, which are Defence,(Entrenchment) Diplomacy,(Unnamed 2nd Expansion) and Destruction or Development(Uber far away 3rd Expansion).
The Fraisers have already *hinted* at Diplomacy Expansions in the 2nd Expansion, and since Entrenchment features on defence, you could opt for mass military upgrades inteh 3rd one, or if you think that the military is already strong enough, Development, which could include new Planetary Upgrades, New Planetary Bonuses, New trade and Refinery Bonuses/Abilities, and, even the fabled colonizable Moons might be added! But,remember this is all just my theory, and I'd love to hear yours.
OR if there will be 3 Expansions at all... 2 Micro-Expansions and the Final HUGE one, with a campaign and everything.

For the diplomacy expansion I would like to be able to see who the other plays are allied to or fighting. U would then be able to consider this info when deciding to make or break alliances.
Right now u ask an allied AI to come defend a planet, they say “I got your back!” U take all your fleet off to fight some one else and they or someone else attacks the planet but if they are allied or neutral to your allied, your allie just sits there and watches your planet get bombed back to the Stone Age!
I would love to see the ship conterpart of the starbases. Some freaking huge ass ship...made of components which are upgradeable...want a mothership with lots of hangars? with lots of frigatte factorys? lots of lasers? high speed? etc...its your choice. Just like the starbases.
They should be realy expensive and the standard non upgraded ship wouldnt be that dangerous but still very costly.
with Entrenchment you have a deep space constructor that builds starbases what if in later release it could build an ark or colony in a new area of space that is just empty (it could be called empty space) or mabey make them buildable in certain areas like space junks or space plasma storm, gas giant or magnetic storm. That could make those areas of space more important and add a new element to the game. I Think These home made colonies could provide insane bonuses and give each race its own look (just how they made the starbases give each fration its own look) and even surpaceing the starbase in size but have no wepons or defense just the regular plantary defenses. Finally big as they just imagine taking them out the explosion could have effects on nearby planets and ships.
mabey this doesn't have to be in the upcoming expansion mabey someone could mod this idea when Entrenchment comes out iam not really sure if you can mod something like this cause iam not a modder myself but be it in a mod or expansion if this feature came out i would be thrilled
I hope the 3rd expansion is a story-driven single player mode.
If the 3rd one WAS a campaign, somewhere along the line (a.k.a. the 2nd one) we'd (hopefully, anyway) learn of the Vasari's nemesis... YAY!
Also, you could be able to build "colonies" in empty regions of space, but I don't think (not to be a dreamcrusher) that'll happen in the near- not modded future (as for mods, that's a marvelous idea, try DANMAN once he has a break from 7 Deadly Sins)
Now that Entrenchment is out, and it's HIGHLY expected that the newest expansion is going to be diplomacy-based... any ideas or suggestions for the hard-workers of Ironclad and Stardock?

I want MOONS!!!!!! that orbit the planet....or better yet multiple moons that orbit a planet.
Of course this would have to be an option that can be Enabled/Disabled.

i like this idea, but id also like there to be new UNGW's to act as border territories, something that cant be colonised but that lets an enemy fleet jump into your space without actually being thrust face first into a fortress, and also something that would let pirates attack trade routes, much like attacking a convoy in the middle of the desert where no one can hear you scream (evil laugh)
Interesting, lots of lost ideas here... especially liking, well I can't really specify, they're all good ideas, but it might be hard to follow the current Sins line and incorporate some ideas.
I think that Super Caps. would be more interesting, and definetly be worth Cap. ships uber long build time, experience gathering time, and high cost. (Capital Carriers need a buff the most I think, as they're often outshadowed by their cruiser cousins{even if Embargo is badass})
Moons, again. I LOVE the idea of moons, like each home planet starts out with a moon, pre-colonized, and each moon provides extra population, planet health, logistic and tactical slot space, and a bigger Grav. Well.

One thing I'd really like to see is the "Flagship" title for Capitals actually MEAN something other than "This ship has the highest level". As soon as two caps have the same level, the "Flagship" aspect completely vanishes.Perhaps ships in a fleet with a Flagship as Fleet Commander could gain slight bonuses to damage output for example. With the ability to CHOOSE which Capital becomes your flagship for a cost(Similar to the method designating your Empire's Capital Planet.) from the ability menu.This could possibly fit in with the Diplomacy expansion, I dunno, it's just a rough suggestion. It just kind of urks me that we have these nice shiny Capitals and even a "Flagship" yet it's an absolutely redundant title as it does absolutely nothing and it's not hard to have it vanish completely from your fleet by way of capitals being equal in level.
alot of people have asked for this or a slight variation (admirals that have to be manually deployed to certain caps etc)

Hmmm... the only problem I foresee with Flagship bonuses is that, that ship will now be a MUCH bigger target for enemy ships, and therefore need uber support to stay alive late-game battles, but that still would be better than the "Flagships" we have now.
Allow us players to play as the Pirates! I haven't quite thought of how their economy would work (to pay for their fleet), maybe they have a trade corruption feature where they siphon off percentages of trade routes. The problem would be that at the start of a game, trade would be zero. Even 100% of zero is still zero.
One thing I'm thankful for (in any game) is that pirate ships aren't shielded so they're that little bit easier to take down. If the pirate faction becomes playable, this might change.
Another shortcoming is diplomacy would conceivably be purely on the nasty side - "Gimme xxx creds/metal/crystal or your colony gets a roudhouse kick to its face" and alliances would (probably) be non-existent.
But it'd be good fun I think, and a different way to play Sins! And we just might have a whole new voicepack for the pirate faction too - "Arrrr! I be a pirate!" etc etc.
Danman's 7 deadly sins mod already allows you to do this... not sure of the details though.
Oh good, I've not had a look at 7 Deadly Sins yet and from your post, I might do so!
Perhaps IC can consider including the Pirate Faction idea at some stage...

i have to say im not a great fan of playing as pirates
i mean, as it stands, they have, what, 6 different kinds of ship?
playing pirates as they are now is not really my idea of fun, basically they are too simplistic
also, IC would have to develop an entire balance system for them, including economy, research tree, capital ships... and then there is lore to consider, how it fits in... after all, we are playing a game about empires, how does playing pirates fit in?
however, depending on the love IC will give to pirates in the next X-pack, idn, i might change my mind
True, Rez. IC would probably need to do a lot of fleshing-out for the Pirates so that they can be played more effectively and fit better into the grand scheme of things. This may sound like a big ask but I do think it's doable and it'd certainly add a new dimension to Sins.
I think that the whole, diplomacy thing sounds awefully like a campaign to me if not, it will certainly be a great segway into it, beacuse the features of diplomacy seem a requirement for a campaign,
I do recall there being hints at a campaign for one of the expansions, and a hint at whoever is chasing the vasarii being the forth race and be like....unlocked from the campaign and they would play differntly than the other three races, like they would eat planets instead of colonise them or something.
Also, was that thing where they are care-bears real? Cuz carebears would be a terrible forth race.
