Is there any way to remove ships from a group? The manual says CTRL+SHIFT+ (0-9) but it soesn't seem to work.
I looked in Key Bindings but did not see the option.
This is annoying since I use groups as a backup to fleets, since fleets are "broken"*.
Thanks
* By "broken" I mean fleets don't always hold together when they mix in a grav-well to the point where one fleet will steal all of one typ of ship from the other fleet.
Usually, I press the key for the group (eg. "1"), then shift click the ship I want to remove (so that it is no longer selected), and then press ctrl-1 again to "re-group"..
give me a karma, three is my lucky number.
Ring up the control group with a number key, then, press and hold down the shift key so you could de - select the desired ships with your cursor, then regroup with Ctrl + same number group.
Well, the better way to ungroup a single ship is to utilize the fleet system. If you used the fleet button in the fleet management box, you could simply un-fleet a group or a single ship in the same fleet management box, without ruining the rest selections. Or hold shift and select the desired ship(s) in the empire tree on your left. The choice is yours.
Of course the best way to control your fleet is utilizing both the ctrl group and fleet management box. Ctrl group your fleets just after they are formed, will make sure of all your ships stay with their roles to the bitter end.
P.S. the un-stack key in on the top left side of your screen, you can toggle your fleet stacking statue with this key, great for spliting a smaller fleet from your main armada.
Thanks, guys. Will uae your suggestions now!
