Hello out there my friends, I have another question
The question is can you have both apps. on your computer at same time and do they run at the same time or would you use one or the other
Thanks
Thuglifejunior
They do different things but could be run together. They do not conflict in any way so perhaps some research on the WinStep site would be a good idea.
Thanks Zubaz thats great advice, I actually looked briefly at their video clip, now I have to do the homework, thanks Zubaz.......did you see I hit the 1000 download mark, I'm a very happy man, thanks for help
Thanks very much Zubaz, I tell you what though, its you moderators and Stardock staff that keep people like me coming back for more, you bunch are an awesome bunch of people and my Pa and me wish we could show you a whole lot more appreciation for the way you have treated us since we joined the Wincustomise community.....except buying you a Porsche that is, thanks Zubaz for everything you do, cheers.

Hey, Thugsy, I've been running the Winstep Xtreme apps along side my Stardock apps for going on 4 years and have never had a conflict... ever. While some ObjectDock functions are duplicated, Winstep apps have others and is very flexible/customisable.
Best thing would be to download the trial version, it gives you plenty of time to evaluate and experiment, and see whether you would like to purchase. I did and have never looked back... Winstep apps are great.
I agree with Zu and Starkers Dale. There's absolutely no conflict. However a word of caution, if you do try running WinStep with your current configuration of docks and tabs at the same time, you're going to have an extremely crowded desktop.
My suggestion is to try WinStep / NexStart together with nothing else running at first. Get a feel for it because the WS themes comes fully loaded including their own docks, widgets, walls, stats and a whole lot more. That along with understanding and integrating NexStart will have you and your system busy enough.
And while WS is a new experience, it's not overwhelming to learn to interface with immediately for someone who knows a bit about customization. At the same time it is an entirely different navigational approach, with tons of configurations and tweaks that are easy enough and self explanatory.
On a personal note, my XP box can't handle the graphical demands of the WinStep / NexStart interface. My paltry 64mb on-board video is too weak and the results aren't very pretty. But it runs like a hungry mad dog on my Vista system!
Good Luck Bud!

Hiya Sir Starkers, where you been lately, I miss you and your humour big time on site, come back pleeeaaase!! and thanks for your input on Winstep, I'm busy doing my homework now as Zubaz suggested, but it looks very interesting so I think I'll give it a bash, really nice to see you Starkers, me ol' ship mate
Hiya Cp ja I'm definitely going to give it a whirl, I've got a kick arse graphics card installed, so no worrys there....and now at least I've got you and Sir Starkers and Zubaz to help me out if I get into hassles....which I doubt I will cos I'm quite a handsome, muscular hulk of a man with a really high level of Intelligence, and thats being modest, cos did I mention, I'm also a very modest person, ja ok then ......no thanks guys, if I run into any problems I'll give either one of you a shout, thanks
You're most welcome on the Winstep info... I really love using it and find it quite a useful tool for shortcuts, menus and the like. You will like it... and there are plenty of skins for it that match many WB's and other skins here, so yeah, it's pretty bloody fantastic.
As for not being around much lately, I have been in the forums a bit (up to me usual mischief), but I've had a few things going on and found it hard to get motivated to be creative. I have several unfinished icons and several ideas for screen shots, but it's all been put on hold for a while, partly because I'm having sleep difficulties and find it hard to concentrate, particularly when tyring to use more complicated programs like PSP and/or Photoshop. Also, the missus and I have had some daughter issues we've needed to focus on, so yeah, the fun stuff has been on the back burner for a bit. Oh, and don't worry or anything, we're OK and everything is fine... well as good as it can be. I suppose we'd all like things to be better at times, but I'm not complaining... a bit more sleep more often/regularly wouldn't go astray, but other than that I'm just dandy.
PS, I will get back to screenies soon, and my icons... had a decent nights sleep last night, so a couple more like that and I'll be right to go.
