I purchased the cd for gold edition at frys today.
First thing I do after installing and finding the piece of paper to try to login to stardock is attempt to update. thus the problem.
In stardock, It shows me as having a lower version number or dark avatar. when I click update, it redirects me to the purchase page.
When I downloaded impulse, it read my copy of sins of a solar empire as existing, but not galactic civilizations in the update page. it does however view galciv in the games page.
all other aspects (tutorials, multimedia, heightmaps work fine in stardock)
Seems like the registry entry for DA is missing or faulty. This happened a lot in the beginning with Impulse, as Stardock Central wrote the keys different than what Impulse expects.
You should be able to either edit the key manually*, or re-install using Impulse. That will also get you the latest version.
*) Software/Stardock/Drengin.net/Components - then look for GC2 or GC2DA. The path probably isn't set correctly, if it's the issue I'm thinking about.
Yeah, if you're being directed to a purchase page when you try to update it means that it isn't properly registered. Make sure that since you have GC2 Gold, you have registered the serial as both GC2 and as DA individually. If that's already been done, contact support@stardock.com and they can have a look at your account.
Fixed, thank you. by the way, sorry about the spelling.
