Ok....which url did you use to upload the image? What was the error message? Did you press ctrl f5 to clear your cache?
If for some reason you cannot get your avatar to load in from this site i suggest you go to the following site and log in using your details from here and you can upload an image there with ease.

Or use "My account" from within the forums themselves (top left under the navigation).
My Account -> Images -> Avatar -> upload file , after upload a receive a green message "Image uploaded successfully." but i dont see nothing image..

I too have a problem Uploading desktop image. It tells me image uploaded successfully but desktop image on my web page does not change. My image size is within acceptable limits. I cleare cache, Tried from impulse. Logged off and on. Will not change. Any ideas?
like me... but i have this problem in all 3 option: Avatar , personal and desktop ...

I'm seeing this in Firefox with my avatar (uploading anything results in it saying that I uploaded an old one from my test account--not even the previous). Using IE it worked properly.

Hey all, I've identified what I believe to be the problem and am working on a solution. Unfortunately to be sure I had to intentionally break the system. So uploads aren't going to work for anyone for a bit. I'll reply again when I have it back up and running.

Ok. The issue with the uploads (as far as I can tell at the moment) had to do with people who did not already have certain images uploaded. The secondary issue is that the interface wasn't properly telling you when there was a problem. It should now, however. If you're not using Firefox and you get a popup message, you can use CTL+C to copy the message. Unfortunately the mozilla team, in their infinate wisdom, decided not to allow you to copy the message with that quick shortcut, so you'll have to copy it by hand. However, if you get a popup message and dont copy the message then there is very little we can do to fix the issue. A screenshot of the popup will also work.
To all who were having trouble, please try uploading your images on the forums now.

Well sure, but I was pointing out that the message boxes in Firefox do not allow you to just CTL+C copy the content of the message box.

How is everyone using big avatars when the limit is supposed to be 50x50? Do you have to join a forum that supports big avatars (or impulse), or does it work here too now?
If you use a website which has been updated to support the large avatars, then you are able to upload them. You can upload them through the Impulse Community site, JoeUser and the forums.
(Please, let's get back on topic. If you have questions about the avatars or images that arent related to the problems people are having with uploading them, please post a new topic. I will be sure to answer your questions.)

Through https://forums.wincustomize.com/account/images, the upload works in first time (and i can can get the url adress from a right click on it) but the image seems to be not stored correctly as if i refresh the page, it goes ...
Through http://forums.impulsedriven.com/account/images i get an error message which tells me i should have at least Flash 9.0.28 (i get 9.0.124.0 french and correctly installed as verification tells me)
I have flash v9.0.124.0 installed as well and it works fine. CTL+F5 if it didnt work and you did not get a popup message. If it still doesnt work and you get no message then I'm sorry, I don't know what to tell you.
All of the problems, based on your descriptions, sound related to issues with your browser. Perhaps someone can speak with you in french and get a better, more detailed translation to english.

neophil, I'm told by the network guys that we are experiencing a situation right now whereby you may be getting shuffled between different servers on each request to the forums. This causes a problem with caching. You can determine this by the 'balsaXX' label at the bottom of the page. I'm told that we wont have this resolved until early next week our time. This may be causing issues where an upload appears to have succeeded, and then upon refresh no image appears. The only way to tell for sure is to watch that label at the bottom. If it changes between refresh, then that could account for what you're seeing.
Beyond that, keep looking for client/browser problems on your machine. I'm still working on this, and will continue to do so until we have it solved.
That's strange, i didn't try to upload anymore since my last post in this thread, and the desktop screenshot i tried to, is now on my personal site
BTW, i can't do anything anymore on none of Avatar, Personal or Desktop images through forums/my account/images because i get that silly message that "Upload has not initialized properly, Flash v9.0.28 or greater is needed" ...
(should be the "v" which is the responsable of trouble )
excuse me for being just a little dense, but what the heck does flash have to do with uploading pictures. as an ardent flash hater, I was just wondering.
I just attempted to update photos and even though it said it did, it doesn't appear to have done so so, I guess next week has not arrived yet. (must be a slow server)
Because flash is used for the process of uploading them.
