When your waiting to be resurrected, why not make it so the player can spend their upgrade points?
I personally think that its better the way it is since otherwise resurrection may not much of a hindrance if you can manage your character... I did think about this and can see why it would be nice though
We've had a long discussion about this elsewhere and the synopsis was that most of us agreed that you should be able to look at your ability tree while dead, but not able to shop. Otherwise, it's just too bad for immersion when you die. What do you think of that?
I've pondered on this as well and agree that you should not be able to shop, etc, whie dead. But yes, your idea about being able to view the your ability tree or shop items would be great.
I think you should be able to view your skill tree and all the shops while you are dead, but you shouldn't be able to spend skillpoints or buy anything. Preventing people from viewing shops and skill trees while dead (the only down time you really have) makes it very difficult for newer players, as they don't know all the different items and skills like the back of their hand. I think the game would be easier to pick up and play if you could browse stores while you're dead instead of having to memorize the entire item list in advance so you can make quick decisions in game. You shouldn't have to spend time studying for games, that's what school's for .
Just don't let people actually buy/upgrade while dead and there shouldn't be a problem.
No shopping of course, but you should definitively be able to check your character inventory and spend your skill points.
Ah well great minds think alike I guess. The shopping idea does sound good though.
I realize this is just an engine test, but it would definitely be nice to be able to 'shop' for your talent points while dead.
This also may be less of an issue once the trees are filled out, balanced, and completed, and once I learn them all, but the fast paced action leaves me little time to consider what builds to go after. Especially if I wanted to point my build in a different direction to react to another player's tactics in game, it would sure be nice to spend 30 seconds staring at that screen to ponder - even if I can't spend any points.
