I played as Torchbearer. I took the Fire Nova (I think) skill (the one which blows all your enemies away when you're on fire). Basically I took this skill but the button was still greyed out as if I hadn't and I couldn't use it.
Did you train the skill after your transformation?
Yes the torchbears fire skills can not be used till you click on the immolation skill. Then all his ice skills are turned off and his Fire skills are turned on.
I had the same issue with lag, I started the game and clciked my ability we then had massive lag, and it wasn't applied but the point was spent. (Rook's archer towers) then when i got a level i got two points but the ability was unselectiebal like I had already got it. Once i bought another skill though it reverted to not taken and evreything was fine.
If I did this, then there would be no button for me to click on and be greyed out, so of course I was on fire.
No what I ment was maybe you trained while you were already in fire mode, and maybe you have to wait for a refresh to get the skill aka get out of fire then go back in. Kinda like if you train a skill after clicking that same skill on a player. You do the dmg before the upgrade.
I've only played about 45 minutes up to now, and I haven't figured out how that skill system works.
Like DeadMG, I'm usually confronted with "greyed out" buttons, and no effective skill to use.
For example. I have a cold, blue aura around my feet, but the left buttons associated with cold skills remain greyed out. The only colored button is the one to the right of the cold skills, the button that would make me switch to fire.
But if I press it, I become on fire ... but then, it is the fire-skill buttons that are greyed out, and the only button that is colored is the one that would allow me to revert back to the blue-aura state.
It's perhaps simple & obvious to some of you, but I haven't figured out in 45 minutes how to make the skills work. I'll try again today.
In reply #1, the poster mentions training a skill after transformation : I do not understand what that means, in practical game terms. You transform from a cold state to a fiery state : that, I understand, I can do it easily. But then what ? How do you train to acquire skills ?
I feel dumb : it might be obvious, but I don't get it.
You get skills from the skill menu, it's to the left of your Demigod's picture. It's small and will have a number on it when you have skill points to spend. And yes i ment from cold state to fiery state. Wasn't sure if fiery works like a skill timer not allowing you to train while transformed.

It happens with lag I beleive. I had it happen when speccin g while in lag too.
I've encountered this as well. Only with bad lag over Hamachi, though. I got a little ticked and suicided myself into enemy defenses, and I got the point back upon respawn. (Twice.)
This happened to me once. It was a solo game so I don't think lag was an issue. Rather, I think I spent the point right before dying (in this case, the Rook's Trebuchet). I got the upgrade for a moment, then died. When I respawned it was gone and I had the point back (at least, I got it back by the time I levelled again, which was pretty soon) and was able to buy the ability again.
I think this is the same bug as the one in SupCom where all commands made during a lag spike are dropped.
