The game looks decent and I am an RTS fan. I have tested many other games from city builders to MMO's and had fun doing it. I would say that RTS's are my true calling. I have also played DoTA and been bored, but I find thw WC3 engine slow and clunky. Seeing this at PAX, I really enjoyed it and would like to get more of a taste for its mechanics and character development. What can I do to get into the beta?

pre-order the game thats all
Don't worry, if you can only get paypal, they're about to open it up and there's still slots, so you should get in easily.
So there are definately still slots? I pre-ordered yesterday and really hope to get into first phase!
Until the fat la-- um, no, until kryo says so, there still are, so you should be fine. His last comment on the subject was that there were still slots. Folks wiht paypal only may have a hard time, but some of them should get in (correct me if I'm wrong)
Just adding to what xthetenth said, kryo actually stated yesterday that the Beta is not yet full. So no worries
Hello everyone,
I don't mean to hijack this thread but I found it more logical to post here since my question is related to the OP topic.
So far the game looks awesome. I just saw the 20sec gameplay video and that alone made me want to get the beta.
I have no experience with stardock games (Sotse or Galactic civ series) but this will be my first try with them and according to what I've been reading everyone is very satisfied with their support.
I would like to preorder the game but I am not sure if they accept international orders since I come from Lebanon.
If anyone can help confirm if I can enter please let me know .
Thank you in advance
As long as you have a compatible payment method (one of the major credit/debit cards, or paypal), it doesn't matter where you are.
Thanks for the rapid reply.
Ok then I'll give it a shot. I have a mastercard credit card which I use on certain US sites such as Amazon...etc
Be warned, the S+H is going to be intense if you want the box, the digital version is likely to be way more affordable than the box. The collectors edition is likely to weigh 3 or so pounds, and the shipping for sins CE boxes hit 20 dollars for international shipping.
Any preorder is still the collectors edition, so any soundtracks or extra content should also be downloadable from the site, even if you buy the digital one (that's how it was with Sins). Living in the UK, S&H was quite expensive for me and i would assume Lebanon is the same.. I would recommend the digital download
As the contents of the Demigod CE (should there be one, I don't recall if it's been confirmed or not yet) have not yet been determined, there's no knowing what it will weigh. The comment as to weight on the other thread was in reference to Sins.
I know, but considering you guys seem to be charging based on your experiences with sins, the pricing is currently as if the box would weigh three pounds. You're right, I am speculating a bit, but I had my reasons.
even for the extra price i find the box better cause u can put it on a stand and say "I bought that game" while ur computer is turning on and u cant see ur desktop yet lol
Now if we bought the preorder (Without Box) And you do release extras (Physical extras like in Guild Wars) Can we change our order and purchase the extras? (S+H added as well)
With sins, those who ordered the download version were able to pay the $5 difference and get a box after release.
Alright thanks.
Wasn't that because a boxed version wasn't originally offered with the preorder? Though i could be way off here.
It was available from the start, however that it would be a CE was not announced until later after a number had preordered.
(and to clarify my above comment, that was $5 + shipping)
I wonder if that deal will be extended this time round as well?
IF they push it back agian cuse it aint full ill be mad
Push the beta back? Nah, they won't do that, especially with everybody wanting to pay with paypal. Don't worry, that one isn't very likely
Maybe its me, but it seems a bit of "cart before the horse" for me to pony up and buy a game not even in beta yet. I have an interest in the game but it seems faulty to have to pay for it to help Gas Powered Games make a better product. If the game is good, aside from the fact that it attracted the type of player already interested in this type to the beta, it would seem to be a no-brainer that the beta testers would want to buy it post gold; especially if given even a minor discount.
Sorry, but if I have to buy a game before its even in beta to get into the beta, I will hold off.
And that's a perfectly valid choice. We just find that making the preorder buyers = beta testers tends to filter out those just looking to play a free game before release, and ensure that we get people who are actually interested helping to make the game a success.
I agree with that policy, because this prevents the "beta as demo" crowd from thinking the beta is a demo when in fact it is very far from being one and spreading bad word of mouth. It also makes sure that everybody in the beta understands and is serious about working on it.
Im actually very glad I get to be one of the people that help make the game just that much better while making it better for my self and many others!
This is actually the first game that I will participate in a beta. Cant wait.
