I've given up on Stardock ever releasing WindowFX for Vista, they clearly aren't commited to it. For the code that has to be written I'm sure they're taking longer than it took to write the whole OS.
I wouldn't give up so quickly, were I you...huj, they have x number of folks working, and y number of projects so they have to set priorities for each task.... I don't think it's a matter of "want to" or not.
I too look forward to seeing what SD comes up with and I hope it's soon also.
I'm sure threads/pm's and emails help bring attention to customer desires, and I'm sure they do, in fact pay attention.
Good idea for a thread, natalyn!
Sorry I realize now that I go back and look at that last post I made I did not answer the initial question.
WindowsFX update is planned for an update at this time. Look for more news on that software update on Wincustomize.com.
OD 2009 is herer....many programs were updated.......but WinFX was not......now what?
What version number do you currently show for WindowsFX?
I just ran all the updates on Impulse
For WindowFX Impulse says on mine:
Available Version: 3.00a.018
Clicking the install button still gives "This program is not compatible with your current Operating System."
What OS are you using? WinFX is not certified for Vista.
Haha, that's his whole point, hombre.
Here it is December the ninth 2008 still no update on Windows FX for Vista I was told back in March of 2006 it was coming. I am a patient person I have only been waiting almost 2 years for the update hopefully it comes out before Windows 7 comes out.
Yeah, been waiting for a long time here also. Can we get an OFFICIAL response on this product.
What exactly did Seabass mean by
"WindowsFX update is planned for an update at this time."
when that was said in October? This is a Vista thread. One might naturally assume the statement is in regards to a Vista update. But even still I am not sure as there have not been any in the past two months since this comment was made. Some clarification on the issue would be helpful.
For what it's worth, this is from Frogboy 9/19/08 (see here: https://forums.wincustomize.com/325084)
Things that are going to get a lot of attention but may not be available on the release of Object Desktop 2009 but should be released within a year depending on Windows 7's release date.
+ DesktopX 4.0 (Vista/XP/Windows 7)
+ WindowFX 4.0 (Vista/XP/Windows 7)
+ WindowBlinds (Vista/XP/Windows 7)
+ SkinStudio (Vista/XP/Windows 7)
+ DeskScapes 3 (Vista/XP/Windows 7)
Also, anything that doesn't work on Windows Vista 64-bit by the time Object Desktop 2009 ships gets pulled (other than WindowFX). 64-bit is the future.
To me, this suggests that WinFX isn't going to be updated for Vista in the near future.
Here it is March the 29th 2009 still no update on Windows FX for Vista I was told back in March of 2006 it was coming. I am a patient person I have only been waiting almost 3 years for the update hopefully it comes out before Windows 7 comes out.
Vista's development was completed in November 2006 and was released on January 30, 2007. Your profile indicates you became a member on November 21 2008.
Your statement of being told in March 2006 doesn't add up.
Let me get this right there is a update for windows FX for VISTA in Impulse I can download right now. I have been a member since 2001 each time I renew my subscription I usually pick a new name if this is o k with you.
looks like i was right, new version of windows before any working updated version of many ODNT applications, which, are what, 2 years over on the timeline stardock posted?
figures, think they needed to work on demigod too much, which doesn't even work either LOL, i mean, i bought it on the day of release, but i can't play it cause it's broken
I look at it this way...Windows 7 is purported ( is that a word?) to be better than Vista. DUH! I know a guy running Windows 7 beta on his lap top and it's a screamer!! Puts Vista to shame! I'm sure when WindowsFX gets here it's gonna be a screamer too. I have it on my XP and it works great. Imagine how much better it'll be considering how advanced most apps are now. Just my two cents.
As an aside, while we have not updated every app some of the "secondary" apps in ODNT *have* gotten updates since January and I'm pushing to get more.
that may be true zubaz, but there was a timeline released, and stuff was promised over 2 years ago, so thats kind of strange, and the timeline hasn't been updated, thats kind of a problem.
Have*I* ever let you down?
Here it is
still no update for Windows FX for Vista
