Vaccinations--Pros and Cons
Safe and Effective and should they be government mandated?
The number of available vaccines are increasing and so are the questions of parents and concerned individuals who want to be enlightened about the pros and cons.
On another forum, KFC noted that some parents in Belgium are being jailed for refusing to have their children vaccinated against polio. According to a Lifesite news report, 2 sets of parents have been sentenced to five months in prison as well as a hefty fine for their crime. It’s a crime because the polio vaccine is legally mandated in Belgium and France. The article didn’t reveal why the parents have refused to vaccinate their children. However, vaccination has long been a subject of health and ethical concern, especially since the discovery that numerous vaccines, including several versions of the polio vaccine, are made using tissue from aborted fetuses. It’s unclear whether or not Belgium's polio vaccine has been tainted with fetal tissue.
While no vaccine is 100% safe, medical experts and health officials have long insisted the risk of diseases far outweigh the risks associated with vaccines. And that’s where the rub lies. It’s a small percentage, but what if it happens to you? Various anti-vaccination groups argue that long-term health concerns for children who have received vaccinations have not been adequately addressed, with some claiming that vaccination shots can lead to medical problems such as cancer, autism and even SIDS, "sudden infant death syndrome".
In 1986, due to pressure from parents who children had suffered devastating problems after being vaccinated, the government created the National Vaccine Compensation Program and since then has paid out more than 1.2 billion dollars in settlements to compensate families or individuals in which vaccines killed, caused brain-damage or otherwise seriously hurt children.
Right now, we have pretty much employed a "one size fits all" vaccination policy and as specified on the Universal Childhood Immunization Schedule our children as early as only a few days old are required to get certain vaccines. Besides that, there is a concern about the practice of giving a child as many as 6 separate shots or one super shot containing as many as 9 vaccines (some containing mercury) in one visit. It seems that 75% of the settlements cited above concerned the DPT vaccine given to babies at about 2 months old. Turns out they are linking many multiple learning disabilities as a result of a negative reaction to DPT.
In an effort to make this world a better place, and with a billion dollar budget, the drug industry and the medical community are racing forward developing all kinds of vaccines. Case in point is the new HPV vaccine which is supposed to protect against certain strains of human papillomavirus (STD) which lead to cervical cancer. Problem is only a fraction of that budget goes to fund independent studies of side effects and that finally has come to the attention to some in Congress.
Who decides what drugs are forced on children? One parent group based in Ohio supports allowing parents to opt their children out of vaccines and as a result, a dozen or so states have granted a limited medical exemption, a religious exemption, and a philosophical (conscientiously held belief) exemption. Unfortunately, great pressure is put on parents who choose to exempt their children. That happened to me in the case of the small pox vaccine a couple of years ago. The school insisted....and threatened to oust my child...the pressure was on.....and, as for me, I was aware of the medical, religious and philosophical exemptions.
I can understand your point, but my view, is that those nice shiny reasons are usually just the 'presented' reasons people want you to see. Follow back to more primary motivations hidden down deep and in my experience it is usually more about "oh i don't need immunization because God will protect me" and or "i don't need immunization so i can display to others (but mainly myself) that my faith is strong".
sovereignty over your own body - absolutely! but immunization mainly involves children, so enforcing your own 'sovereignty' is not so simple.
How vaccines are made? You don't have to be religious to know most people would not want vaccines made from aborted fetal cells!

Tell the doctor, tell the clinic, tell the school, tell the nurse, tell theemployer, tell the government bureaucrats, tell the healthdepartment, or anybody else who is trying to force you or your kids totake vaccines against your will...."because you must takethem", Tell them... NO.
No matter WHAT they say or threaten you with, tell them ....NO.

Why Vaccines Don't Work as Advertised
In 1949, the DTP vaccine was licensed to prevent diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (whooping cough) issuing forth the modern use of vaccines in the prevention of childhood illnesses. Polio immunization was later introduced to prevent that dread disease. In 1963, the measles vaccine was licensed and was combined with mumps and rubella toxoids to create the MMR vaccine.
In more recent times the hepatitis B and chickenpox vaccines have been developed and incorporated into our health care system. Now a child can expect to receive up to 33 vaccines during his or her childhood with more vaccines on the horizon, such as herpes zoster (shingles), West Nile virus, influenza, pneumococcal, HIV and many more.
The belief that vaccines are safe and effective is pervasive in today’s society. The vast majority of the medical, public and government communities have a well-established belief system in the benefits of vaccines.
Unlike almost any other health-related issue in the free world, governments mandate many vaccines for the theoretical public good. In the United States, all 50 states require a large number of vaccinations before children are allowed to attend public schools or day care centers.
Although most states have religious and medical exemptions, with some having a philosophical exemption, public and medical officials exert a great deal of pressure to vaccinate. The pervasive attitude that plagues will return and ravage the western world without everyone giving their child a full set of vaccinations is a powerful force in modern society.
One of the chief concepts that vaccine proponents tell us, and that we generally believe in modern society, is that the use of vaccines is responsible for the virtual elimination of many childhood scourges that used to ravage the world. We are told, and assume, that in the 1800s and early in the 1900s many diseases killed a large number of people and that vaccines were invented and stopped these diseases from being a threat. But is this in fact the case?
On the face of it, we cannot help but assume that vaccines have played a key role in improving all of our lives. But looking carefully at the evidence over a longer period of time reveals a different picture of disease evolution and the role vaccines have played.
A review of "Childhood’s Deadly Scourge" states:
"During the last two decades of the 19th century diphtheria was the leading cause of death of toddlers in the industrialized world, in some cities killing more than a thousand in a single year. In contrast, since 1980 fewer than 100 cases have been reported in the entire United States. Although diphtheria is hardly the only infectious disease to have thus faded, its story is unique because the early period of its decline can be directly linked to advances in bacteriologic knowledge and practice. Between 1880 and 1930 health authorities in New York City were responsible for much of the practical innovation in the control of diphtheria, as well as a good share of scientific progress." [1]
The Vital Statistics of the United States contains compiled statistics for a wide variety of information since early in the 1900s. Among those are death rates from all diseases, including infectious diseases. An introductory statement from the 1937 statistics indicates that death rates from infectious diseases declined greatly in the early part of the century. These declines occurred well before the advent of vaccines to treat these conditions.
"The trend in death rates for specific causes, over the past 20 or 30 years, may be characterized by two general statements. In the first place, there has been a great reduction in the death rates for infectious and preventable diseases; in the second place, there has been an increase in the rates for certain diseases characteristic of older ages. Greatest proportional rate decreases have taken place for such diseases as typhoid and parathyroid fever, which has declined from a rate of 23.5 in 1910 to 2.1 in 1937; and diphtheria, which declined from a rate of 21.4 in 1910 to 2.0 in 1937. ... The rate reductions for infectious and preventable diseases can be largely attributed to the development of modern public-health practice." [2]
From these figures, we can see that death rates from typhoid decreased by 91 percent from 1910 to 1937 and death rates from diphtheria declined by 90.5 percent during the same time period. The decrease in diphtheria occurred well before the use of vaccination.
An even more recent editorial statement from the Journal of Pediatrics states that proper sanitation was largely responsible for the early large declines in infectious diseases.
" ... The largest historical decrease in morbidity and mortality caused by infectious disease was experienced not with the modern antibiotic and vaccine era, but after the introduction of clean water and effective sewer systems." [3]
Again, in a 2001 paper in the Journal of Infection Control:
"The conquest of infectious disease and the health revolution it initiated is arguably one of the greatest achievements of Western civilization. Yet the phenomenon is largely unknown and rarely taught, even in history courses. Conventional wisdom usually assumes that conquest of infectious disease can be credited to well-known lifesaving innovations in medicine such as vaccines, antibiotics, and surgical asepsis. These icons are truly essential ingredients of modern medicine, and their contribution to human life and health in this century can never be minimized. However, except for the smallpox vaccination, which was introduced in 1798 and made compulsory in England in 1853, the overall contribution of medical innovations to the health revolution of the 1800s is difficult to validate. Diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis vaccine arrived on the scene only after disease mortality rates already had been reduced significantly; measles, rubella, and polio vaccines did not become available until the middle of the 20th century, when most infant deaths were the result of other causes. The same holds true for sulfa drugs and antibiotics. Their contribution is unequivocal, but they did not affect mortality rates until the 1940s." [4]

Another paper published in the medical journal The Lancet in 1977 by the Department of Community Medicine in the United Kingdom also indicates that vaccines were not responsible for the decline in disease rates in that country.
"There was a continuous decline [whooping cough deaths], equal in each sex, from 1937 onward. Vaccination, beginning on small scale in some places around 1948 and on a national scale in 1957, did not affect the rate of decline if it be assumed that one attack usually confers immunity, as in most major communicable diseases of childhood. ... The steady decline of whooping cough between 1930 and 1957 is predictive of a linear exponential decay characteristic of a general and progressive lessening in the volume and spread of infection among the susceptible population. With this pattern well established before 1957, there is no evidence that vaccination played a major role in the decline in incidence and mortality in the trend of events." [5]
The author’s conclusion that "there is no evidence that vaccination played a major role in the decline in incidence and mortality" is quite monumental and far different than the general public perception.
Thomas McKeown, professor of social medicine in the University of Birmingham Medical School between 1950 and 1978, is still regarded as a major social philosopher of medicine, and is known for his important works in epidemiology and the practice and purpose of medicine. His conclusion was also that diseases were declining well before medical interventions such as vaccinations came into standard use.
"The distinguished epidemiologist Thomas McKeown (1912-1988) maintained that reductions in deaths associated with infectious diseases (air-, water-, and food-borne diseases) cannot have been brought about by medical advances, since such diseases were declining long before effective means were available to combat them." [6]
Another author shows that disease and mortality was falling before the advent of vaccines or drug therapies:
" ... In 1869 there were 716 deaths from typhus in London; by 1885 this had been reduced to 28; and at the beginning of the 20th century there was none. Similar declines could be given for other infectious diseases. Tuberculosis began a remarkable disappearing act. Killing perhaps 500 out of every 100,000 Europeans in 1845, consumption slowly but continuously sank to 50 per 100,000 by 1950. Curative medicine played little part in that transition. The disappearance began before Koch discovered the tubercle bacillus. By the time antibiotics entered the picture, TB in cities such as New York had fallen to eleventh place in the death lists. And the mortality graphs for most of Europe’s fatal crowd diseases all dived before antibiotics had been marketed. Whooping cough killed 1400 children out of every million in 1850, but one hundred years later whooping deaths were less than 10 per million. Scarlet fever behaved in the same way. Measles, typhus, pneumonia, dysentery and polio all share similar histories. Their retreat had a dramatic impact on the European population. By 1900 civilization had lost its biological population check: infectious disease. After centuries of hostile encounters, humans and microbes found a new adjustment with little interference from drugs or vaccines. In some cases the microbe became less virulent (measles and diphtheria) or the human host more resistant (tuberculosis)." [7]

In the view of this, how can the statements made by the CDC on how "thanks to vaccines" diseases are a thing of the past be correct?
Back in 1924 Mark Twain was quoted as saying, "There are three kinds of lies -- lies, damned lies, and statistics." When Mark Twain made this statement, his point was that numbers could be manipulated by the unscrupulous to misrepresent facts, to justify a particular bias, or fulfill a particular agenda.
It is an unhappy fact of modern life that anyone with an idea can support that idea with statistics. The less the public knows about the source of the statistics, the more possible it is to have misinformation posing as scientific results.
Simple statements such as "in the 1920s, over 10,000 people a year died from diphtheria," although accurate are very misleading. Providing a piece of historical fact without any real context and mixing it with statements on how vaccines helped cure these diseases leads the reader to erroneously conclude that vaccines were instrumental in the massive declines of deaths from these diseases.
The CDC’s statements on vaccines only provide a few facts and then draw a conclusion on this limited information. To understand the role of vaccines, we must use the raw information and analyze it over a long period of time.

SEATTLE, WA – A new study making the rounds claims to definitively disprove the long-rumored link between the Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) shot and rising rates of autism. But according to a prominent pro-life vaccine researcher, the study only looked at one MMR vaccine – an ethically-sourced Japanese product that contains none of the human DNA fragments found in more common MMR vaccines produced from aborted fetal cell lines – and doesn’t apply to the MMR available in the United States.
"What we have found is that across continents, and across decades, change points in autism disorder (not considering autism spectrum but only autism disorder) are clearly associated with the introduction of vaccines produced using human fetal cell lines."
“The MMR all the news are talking about is from Japan and was made in animals, not aborted fetal cells. Therefore, we would not expect that study to show any link between animal based MMR and autism,” explained Dr. Theresa Deisher, a Seattle-based genetic research scientist. “We only see a link between aborted fetal manufactured vaccines and autism.”
Deisher previously worked as a researcher for Genentech, Repligen, ZymoGenetics, Immunex, and Amgen before her pro-life convictions drove her to found AVM Biotechnology and Sound Choice Pharmaceutical Institute in order to provide ethical alternatives to so-called “Big Pharma.”
The bulk of Dr. Deisher’s research has been aimed at trying to untangle the web of anecdotes and rumors surrounding the MMR, which has been at the center of controversy ever since scientist Andrew Wakefield published a 1998 study linking the vaccine to rising rates of autism, pervasive developmental disorder, and other brain dysfunctions. Wakefield’s study has been widely criticized by the mainstream medical community, but according to Deisher, other studies and governmental data actually back up his assertion that some MMR shots may be causing autistic symptoms in children.
Deisher’s own review of available literature on the MMR-autism link has consistently showed that results depend entirely on the source of the MMR shot being studied.
Testifying before Congress in 2011, Deisher told lawmakers that governments around the world have identified clear jumps or “change points” in the rate of autism diagnoses over the past twenty years, and in almost every case, the jump coincided with a change in the MMR vaccine from animal-based production to human fetal cell line production during the year the new wave of autistic children were born.
“What we have found is that across continents, and across decades, change points in autism disorder (not considering autism spectrum but only autism disorder) are clearly associated with the introduction of vaccines produced using human fetal cell lines,” Deisher said. “Each time we inject our children with one of these vaccines, we are also injecting them with residual fetal human DNA.”
FDA scientists have speculated that residual human DNA in vaccines could trigger cancer, autoimmune diseases, and disruption of the recipient’s genome. But in the absence of clear-cut peer-reviewed research on the topic, manufacturers continue to use aborted human cell lines, mostly because it’s cheaper and faster than developing vaccines from scratch in test tubes.
It is Deisher’s assertion that this residual human DNA, not the MMR itself, is the likely cause of rising autism rates. And she says the study making news this week – a meta-analysis of 67 previous studies on vaccine safety performed by the RAND Corporation and published in the Journal of Pediatrics – actually reinforces her point.
“Only one of the studies included in their meta-analysis focused on the link between MMR and autism, and that was a study from Japan,” Deisher told LifeSiteNews. “It was published in 2012 by an author named Uno, and in that study in Japan, the only MMR available was an animal-manufactured MMR. So what that paper showed is that if you immunize children with an animal-based MMR, there’s no increased risk of autism.”
In the United States, there are more than ten vaccines produced from aborted fetal cell lines. (A complete list can be found here (PDF).) Many have ethical, potentially safer alternatives, but patients often must ask their doctors to special order them. However, in the case of the MMR, the Hepatitis A shot, and the Varicella (Chicken Pox) vaccine, there are no ethically derived alternatives. Merck, the manufacturer of the sole MMR available in the U.S., “has fought to keep [alternatives] out,” Deisher told LifeSiteNews. “There are many things in play here. One is economics.”
It’s not just about competition – Merck previously offered two separate vaccines for measles and mumps that allowed patients to avoid the problematic rubella portion of the MMR, which was grown in a fetal cell line. But Merck took those products off the market because the MMR is far cheaper to produce. “The most expensive part of manufacturing a vaccine is not making the virus that goes into the vaccine,” said Deisher, “it’s vialing it.” In other words, putting three or more vaccines into a single shot saves the company money on packaging, boosting its bottom line.
Deisher said that if Merck wanted to offer an alternative to parents who object to the current MMR on ethical or safety-related grounds, it could easily “in-license” the Japanese version of the shot. “That’s something they choose not to do, but it’s certainly not out of their reach,” she said. She suggested that parents wanting a non-fetal-cell-line-based option for the MMR write to Merck and show the company there is a strong demand for it.
Deisher also suggested that parents educate themselves on the various vaccines on the U.S. schedule, and make sure they are aware of ethical alternatives to popular fetal-derived shots. (A chart providing information about both can be found here (PDF).) “Most doctors will work with parents to get the alternatives,” she said.
Deisher understands that many parents will remain conflicted about whether to give the MMR, particularly if not giving the shot may put the child at risk of serious illness. For those parents, said Deisher, it’s important to carefully weigh all the risks and ethical considerations before making a decision. She noted that the Catholic Church says that in cases where there is a grave risk to the child’s health if the vaccine is not given, and there is no ethical alternative available, parents may choose to vaccinate as long as they make their objection to the use of human fetal cell lines clear to their physician and work to bring ethical alternatives to market. She also noted that there is some evidence that waiting until later to give the shot – say, just before entry to school – is associated with a lower risk of developing autism.

As the incidence of autism has tripled since 2000, the Centers for Disease Control has denied any connections with vaccines, but one researcher says a new study backs up a little-known theory for the vaccine-autism link: that the rise in autism is due not to the use of metals in developing vaccines, but to the use of human fetal cell lines.
Theresa Deisher, the founder of Sound Choice Pharmaceutical Institute in Seattle, says its time for the CDC to wake up and look at all the data linking the autism hike to vaccines, especially Sound Choice’s new study showing a strong association between child autism and vaccines against chickenpox and Hepatitis A.
“Not only are the human fetal-contaminated vaccines associated with autistic disorder throughout the world, but also with epidemic childhood leukemia and lymphomas,” Deisher declared in a news release.

She added that there are “a large number of publications” linking the HERV retrovirus “with childhood lymphoma,” and that widely-used chickenpox and Hepatitis A vaccines “manufactured with the fetal cell line WI-38 are contaminated with this retrovirus.”
Deisher’s team studied data from the United States, the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Western Australia and found that the big increases in the diagnoses of autism started in the early 1990s after the introduction of several vaccines containing human fetal DNA and retroviruses, and again after the expanded use of these vaccines.
Human fetal tissue is used to grow vaccines, says Katie Doan, the lead researcher on the study, because it triggers fewer auto-immune responses in the recipients than animal tissue.
But Doan told LifeSiteNews it is impossible to use fetal DNA without contamination with broken DNA strands, despite efforts at purification. When these are injected into children they can combine with the recipients’ genes to trigger autism, she explained.
Why does the CDC urge calm—or, some would say, complacency? Because it denies any actual increase. Though the CDC reports autism incidence increased from one in 150 American children in 2000 to one in 50 in 2013, they claim that what has grown is awareness, and hence the frequency of its diagnosis, as well as the growth of the diagnosis now called “autism spectrum disorders” (ASD) to include more and more conditions.
This belief is reinforced by a recent Australian synthesis of autism studies around the world showing virtually no increase since 1990. Instead the study states that the increase in ASD diagnoses results from reclassification of behaviors previously associated with mental illness and other conditions.
But the Sound Choice study factored out increased awareness by concentrating on one of the narrowest, oldest, and best-known components of ASD called infantile autism, whose criteria have remain unchanged.
It also addressed another prominent explanation for the increase in autism diagnoses, which does accept that autism itself is really on the rise, but attributes it to the increasing age of fathers (and therefore the increasing incidence of defective DNA in offspring).
But the data on aging paternity does not match the increase in autism, whereas the increase in fetal-DNA contaminated vaccines does.
Autism is caused by a combination of factors, with about half comprising genetic defects either generated during development of the unborn child or inherited from parents, including auto-immune deficiencies and mutations.
While the CDC rejects any link between vaccines and autism, late last month one of its scientists admitted that in 2004 a CDC research team deliberately omitted data from a study indicating just such a link. Senior epidemiologist William Thompson admitted data showing a correlation between the MMR vaccine and autism was deliberately left out of the study. “I regret that my coauthors and I omitted statistically significant information,” he said.
But the CDC does no research on any autism-vaccine link and according to Doan has lately ceased reporting annual vaccination numbers that would enable further research.
“The CDC has known for decades about the dangers of insertional mutagenesis by using fetal cell lines and yet they chose to ignore it,” asserted Deisher. “These discoveries should generate an immediate investigation by [Federal Drug Administration] officials if not an outright ban on the use of fetal cell lines as subtrates for vaccine production.”

The Obama Administration has chosen to back Ebola vaccines made using cell lines cultivated from aborted babies, despite the fact that the government itself acknowledged that moral alternatives could also be used, according to a pro-life organization that specializes in advocating for morally produced vaccines.
Children of God for Life says it has discovered that several Ebola vaccines in development for use worldwide are being made using the aborted fetal cell lines.
The proof of the use of the controversial cell lines in the manufacture of the vaccines is found in the patents.
According to the patents, Glaxo SmithKline (GSK) and NIAID are jointly developing their ChAd3 vector for delivering the Ebola virus gene using HEK-293 (human embryonic kidney) cells.
The HEK-293 cell line was created in the early 1970s, and was cultivated from the kidney of baby that was aborted in The Netherlands.
Likewise, NewLink Genetics of Iowa used HEK-293 cells for their VSV-EBOV Ebola vaccine in Canada, while Johnson and Johnson/Crucell developed theirs using PER C6 cells, derived from retinal tissue of an 18 week gestation aborted baby.
Human tests using the NewLink vaccine began on human volunteers in the U.S. on Monday.
"There is absolutely no reason to use aborted fetal cell lines," stated Debi Vinnedge, Director of Children of God for Life.
In a letter to the Department of HHS, the NIH, the FDA and NIAID, Vinnedge points out that the US Department of Health has itself listed other viable options to using the embryonic cell lines, such as yeast, insect, plant, bacteria, CHO, BHK, heLa and COS cells.
The DoH patent states: "The attenuated [ebola] virus can replicate well in a cell line that lacks interferon functions, such as Vero cells."
"At least two other Ebola vaccines in development by the University of Texas and GeoVax are using either Vero cells or chicken eggs,” said Vinnedge. “Likewise, therapeutic products such as ZMapp (LeafBio) and TKM-Ebola (Tekmira) are using plant or Vero cells"
"It is completely irresponsible of this Administration to put these problem vaccines on fast-track for approval and ignore the fact that a massive number of people may very well refuse them,” added Vinnedge. “Why not fast track a product that everyone can use in good conscience?"
Children of God for Life is urging the public to contact US government agencies and their members of Congress requesting that they expedite the morally acceptable alternatives.

With concerns about the Ebola virus on the minds of Americans and people worldwide given new infections, one pro-life group is hoping that moral alternatives will be pursued when creating an Ebola vaccine.
Children of God for Life announced today that several Ebola vaccines in development for use worldwide are made using aborted fetal cell lines despite the fact that moral alternatives are reported as equally effective.

Kenya’s Catholic bishops are charging two United Nations organizations with sterilizing millions of girls and women under cover of an anti-tetanus inoculation program sponsored by the Kenyan government.
According to a statement released Tuesday by the Kenya Catholic Doctors Association, the organization has found an antigen that causes miscarriages in a vaccine being administered to 2.3 million girls and women by the World Health Organization and UNICEF. Priests throughout Kenya reportedly are advising their congregations to refuse the vaccine.
“We sent six samples from around Kenya to laboratories in South Africa. They tested positive for the HCG antigen,” Dr. Muhame Ngare of the Mercy Medical Centre in Nairobi told LifeSiteNews. “They were all laced with HCG.”
Dr. Ngare, spokesman for the Kenya Catholic Doctors Association, stated in a bulletin released November 4, “This proved right our worst fears; that this WHO campaign is not about eradicating neonatal tetanus but a well-coordinated forceful population control mass sterilization exercise using a proven fertility regulating vaccine. This evidence was presented to the Ministry of Health before the third round of immunization but was ignored.”
But the government says the vaccine is safe. Health Minister James Macharia even told the BBC, “I would recommend my own daughter and wife to take it because I entirely 100% agree with it and have confidence it has no adverse health effects.”
And Dr. Collins Tabu, head of the Health Ministry’s immunization branch, told the Kenyan Nation, that “there is no other additive in the vaccine other than the tetanus antigen.”
Tabu said the same vaccine has been used for 30 years in Kenya. Moreover, “there are women who were vaccinated in October 2013 and March this year who are expectant. Therefore we deny that the vaccines are laced with contraceptives.”
Newspaper stories also report women getting pregnant after being vaccinated.
Responds Dr. Ngare: “Either we are lying or the government is lying. But ask yourself, ‘What reason do the Catholic doctors have for lying?’” Dr. Ngare added: “The Catholic Church has been here in Kenya providing health care and vaccinating for 100 years for longer than Kenya has existed as a country.”
Dr. Ngare told LifeSiteNews that several things alerted doctors in the Church’s far-flung medical system of 54 hospitals, 83 health centres, and 17 medical and nursing schools to the possibility the anti-tetanus campaign was secretly an anti-fertility campaign.
Why, they ask does it involve an unprecedented five shots (or “jabs” as they are known, in Kenya) over more than two years and why is it applied only to women of child-bearing years, and why is it not being conducted without the usual fanfare of government publicity?
“Usually we give a series three shots over two to three years, we give it anyone who comes into the clinic with an open wound, men, women or children.” said Dr. Ngare. “If this is intended to inoculate children in the womb, why give it to girls starting at 15 years? You cannot get married till you are 18.” The usual way to vaccinate children is to wait till they are six weeks old.”
But it is the five-vaccination regime that is most alarming. “The only time tetanus vaccine has been given in five doses is when it is used as a carrier in fertility regulating vaccines laced with the pregnancy hormone, Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) developed by WHO in 1992.”
It is HCG that has been found in all six samples sent to the University of Nairobi medical laboratory and another in South Africa. The bishops and doctors warn that injecting women with HCG , which mimics a natural hormone produced by pregnant women, causes them to develop antibodies against it. When they do get pregnant, and produce their own version of HCG, it triggers the production of antibodies that cause a miscarriage.
“We knew that the last time this vaccination with five injections has been used was in Mexico in 1993 and Nicaragua and the Philippines in 1994,” said Dr. Ngare. “It didn’t cause miscarriages till three years later,” which is why, he added, the counterclaims that women who got the vaccination recently and then got pregnant are meaningless.
Ngare said WHO tried to bring the same anti-fertility program into Kenya in the 1990s. “We alerted the government and it stopped the vaccination. But this time they haven’t done so.”
Ngare also contrasted the secrecy of this campaign with the usual fanfare accompanying national vaccination efforts. “They usually bring all the stakeholders together three months before the campaign, like they did with polio a little while ago. And they use staff in all the centres to give out the vaccine.” But with this anti-tetanus campaign, “only a few operatives from the government are allowed to give it out. They come with a police escort. They take it away with them when they are finished. Why not leave it with the local medical staff to administer?”
Brian Clowes of Human Life International in Virginia told LifeSite News that WHO was not involved in the Nicaragua, Mexican and Philippines campaigns. “They try to maintain a spotless record. They let organizations like United Nations Population Fund and USAID do the dirty work.”
In the previous cases, said Clowes, the vaccinators insisted their product was pure until it was shown not to be. Then they claimed the positive tests for HCG were isolated, accidental contaminations in the manufacturing process.
LifeSiteNews has obtained a UN report on an August 1992 meeting at its world headquarters in Geneva of 10 scientists from “Australia, Europe, India and the U.S.A” and 10 “women’s health advocates” from around the world, to discuss the use of “fertility regulating vaccines.” It describes the “anti-Human Chorionic Gonadotropin vaccine” as the most advanced.
One million Kenyan women and girls have been vaccinated so far with another 1.3 million to go. The vaccination is targeting women, according to the government, in order to inoculate their children in the womb against tetanus as well. The government says 550 children die of tetanus yearly.
In covering the contest of words the pro-government Nation found plenty of women who had been vaccinated and were now pregnant, even one who was the wife of a former Catholic priest who left the Church to marry. The paper ignored Kenya’s reliance on the Catholic medical system, while setting the bishops’ stand in a questionable historical context of irrational responses “largely based on religious beliefs,” the more recent murder of vaccination teams in Nigeria, and even of CIA conspiracy theories.
Why would the UN want to suppress the population in developing countries? “Racism,” is Brian Clowes’ first explanation. “Also, the developed countries want to get hold of their natural resources. And lately, there is the whole bogus global warming thing.”
Dr. Ngare said it was the Catholic Church’s hope that the government could have resolved the matter quietly by testing the vaccine. “But the government has chosen to be combative,” forcing Kenya’s bishops and Catholic doctors to go public.

Earlier this month, the Catholic Bishops of Kenya took the unusual step of telling their flock not to participate in a tetanus-vaccination program administered by the government and sponsored by the World Health Organization and UNICEF.
The reason for their call for non-participation was not opposition to vaccines in general. It was, according to the Bishops, that the vaccination program was actually “a clandestine population control program disguised as a tetanus vaccine program.”
According to the Bishops, they had “several vials” of the vaccine tested by “four unrelated Government and private laboratories in Kenya and abroad,” and all of the vials contained the “Beta-HCG hormone which causes infertility and multiple miscarriages in women.”
They presented copies of their findings to governmental officials who quickly denied all wrongdoing, as did the WHO and UNICEF officials.
But the Bishops aren’t backing down.
From 7,500 miles away, it’s difficult to know to what extent, if any, the Bishops’ charges are true. What isn’t difficult to know is that, given the history of birth control programs, especially when it comes to the poor and people of color, there is ample reason to be suspicious.
An example of this history involved the testing of the birth control pill. Before it could gain FDA approval, the pill had to undergo clinical trials. Instead of testing it on the women whom it was ostensibly meant to benefit, middle-class American women, the pill’s inventors tested it on poor women in Puerto Rico.
Starting in 1956, hundreds of poor and uneducated women were given various versions of the pill in sixty-seven locations across the island. Twenty percent suffered side effects ranging from nausea to high blood pressure and potentially lethal blood clots.
None of them were told about these potential side effects, which the pill’s developers explained away, or were told that they were guinea pigs in a clinical trial.
Mind you, these were American citizens. So imagine how poor women in the developing world were treated!
Actually you don’t have to imagine, because I’m going to tell you. For much of the late or early twenty-first centuries, Peruvian health care workers were paid between $4 and $12, a lot of money given how poor they were, for every woman they could “persuade” to be sterilized.
Thus, poor Peruvian women like Felipe Cusi would go to a free clinic complaining about flu-like symptoms and be sterilized without her consent. Others like Emilia Mulatillo would be forced to choose between feeding her children and being sterilized. And the truly unfortunate, like Alejandrina Tapia Cruz, would die after being involuntarily sterilized.
The program behind these abuses of human rights and desecration of human dignity was only one example of many such abuses that have taken place under the banner of family planning.
Look up “compulsory sterilization” on Wikipedia and you’ll find a virtual parade of nations, ranging from obvious bad actors like China to surprising ones like Israel, which admitted to giving Ethiopian immigrants birth control injections without their knowledge or consent.
None of this should surprise us. In 1939, Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger proposed a “Negro Project” whose goal was to greatly reduce the birth rate among southern blacks. Not for their sake, but out of a concern about, and I quote, “careless and disastrous” breeding among the “least intelligent and fit.”
So, you’ll excuse the Kenyan Bishops if they don’t simply take the government's word that there’s nothing to see here. There often has been.

Hi Lula: For the most part I think vaccinations are necessary because there is a lot of nastiness out there. Nature/evolution is a serial killer if left unchecked as you would have it. That is simply unacceptable, us being able to do something about it. I don’t have a problem triple checking, external testing or whatever it takes to make vaccines as safe as possible but that’s about it.
Unfortunately I believe the RCC is only interested in enriching its own coffers. And I do not I believe the RCC has any interest in bettering society at all, rather the opposite. The fact that we can cure and oftentimes eradicate your proposed gods perfect pestilence and diseases has to be one of many thorns in the Churches arse. Knowing you as I do I know you wouldn't paste anything here that challenged anything Catholic and therefore I don’t think your prolonged articles are much more than church propaganda.
This stance your church has taken against birth control will be one of the nails in its coffin. How many millions of the poor African children that you love so must die of starvation, the elements or more painfully from oftentimes curable afflictions etc. before you realize that there is a dreadful cost in human lives and suffering (not you, yours or your churches of course) to so many millions simply because the RCC believes their incognito god frowns on birth control … based on an old book written before they even had birth control; riddle me that one? You and your church continue making a mockery out of your supposed benevolent all-everything god so please continue.
You cannot have your cake and eat it too. Your unverified god is responsible for everything or nothing by your standards. At some point you are going to have to give your pretend god its perfect dues and admit that your pretend devil MUST work for it, not against it. The Catholic bishops of Kenya remain concerned about a vaccination campaign sponsored by the World Health Organization, despite preliminary tests that seemed to quell fears that the vaccine included chemicals that would sterilize women without their knowledge.
After the Catholic hierarchy complained that the vaccine was being used as part of a surreptitious sterilization campaign, the bishops agreed with the government to undertake a joint testing campaign. Early results from those tests showed that none of the vaccines provided by the government included Beta HCG, the chemical that would cause sterilization.
However, Church leaders observe that the government provided new vaccine samples for these tests, whereas earlier samples, tested last year by Catholic scientists, showed the presence of Beta HCG. A private laboratory, using samples obtained last year, also found that some vials included the suspect chemical.
Cardinal John Njue, the chairman of the Kenyan bishops’ conference, remarked: “It is worth noting that only the Catholic Church had collected samples during the actual March and October 2014 tetanus vaccination campaigns.” In light of the remaining questions about why Beta HCG was found in the samples last year, he suggested that further testing should be conducted.
“We insist that no further mass tetanus vaccination campaigns should be undertaken in Kenya before the vaccines have been appropriately tested and proven to be safe,” the bishops’ conference announced.

February 2, 2015 (COGforLife.org) -- News outlets are firing out reports about the recent measles outbreak at Disneyland, blaming it on parents who are not vaccinating. But Children of God for Life says put the blame where it belongs: on Merck - the manufacturer of the only licensed MMR vaccine in the US.
Debi Vinnedge, Executive Director at Children of God for Life is using the CDC's own data to back up that claim.
"Merck officially stopped providing the morally produced separate doses of measles and mumps vaccines in 2009," she noted. "The graph below shows the impact of that rash decision."
In 2008 Children of God for Life began a special campaign to Merck when they suddenly stopped making the separate doses. After massive public outcry, Merck promised to begin providing them again the following year. However, in October 2009, they reneged on that promise.
At the time, Merck spokeswoman Amy Rose said MMRII accounts for 98 percent of the company’s volume sales for measles, mumps and rubella vaccines, compared to just 2 percent from monovalent vaccines.
According to Merck's own financial data, that accounted for approximately $10 million in revenues the previous year, apparently not enough for them.
So when Sound Choice Pharmaceutical Institute stepped forward and asked Merck to allow their organization to provide the separate doses, Merck refused.
"In discussing within Merck we have concluded that we would have no desire to out license our monovalent technology," noted Jim Self of Merck's Vaccine and Infectious Disease Business Development division.
That left families who cannot use the aborted fetal MMR in good conscience, unprotected. But not only is there a moral concern, there are also people who cannot use the MMR for health reasons. One such parent who contacted Children of God for Life stated that her child had a contraindication to the measles component and was desperately seeking mumps vaccine in order to give at least some protection to her child.
The only other option parents have is the morally produced Measles-Rubella and Mumps vaccines produced by the Kitasato Institute in Japan. However, after lengthy negotiations the FDA would not allow personal import either, leaving concerned parents with the option of either traveling to Japan or going without. Surprisingly, some have made that trip.
"Our vaccine adventure could not have been more pleasant, both on account of the proverbial courtesy of the Japanese and the delightful assistance we received," noted Dr Maurizio Ragazzi. "The process for vaccination against Measles, Mumps, Rubella at the Kitasato Hospital in Tokyo is efficient and delightful."
"Unfortunately, the vast majority of parents cannot afford to travel overseas to get vaccinated," noted Vinnedge. "As the sole provider of MMR in the US, Merck has a moral and social responsibility to ensure public health and safety by making those separate doses available again."

Can you handle the truth about vaccines?

Each side is trying to score partisan political points. The message from both sides is that vaccines are completely safe. But that message is absolutely and demonstrably false. As I noted in a recent column, the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program exists to compensate victims of vaccines. The latest Statistics Report shows nearly 4,000 claims have been awarded financial damages. Why do both sides of this "debate" pretend that vaccine-related injuries do not occur? Why not just report the facts? It doesn't take a lot of work to dig them out. Barbara Loe Fisher of the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) tells me that she has given more than 100 interviews in the last two weeks on the subject of the measles outbreak, but that the media simply will NOT report on the existence of the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program and the implications for the subject of vaccine safety. "Vaccines are the only pharmaceutical products that government mandates and completely indemnifies," she notes. She is referring to federal legislation that takes legal responsibility for their actions away from the companies making the vaccines. "I've been talking about it in every interview I do and I have been bringing it up. But whenever I talk about liability protection for the companies – that this is the only pharmaceutical product that is mandated by government and indemnified by government – they [the media] don't want to talk about it," she said. Observers believe the glaring omission reflects the power of pharmaceutical companies or their advertising agencies in the major media. It is in the interest of these companies to make pariahs out of those favoring vaccine choice by playing down – or even suppressing – questions about vaccine safety. Simply put, the evidence and history show that the vaccine makers have been given total liability protection for injuries and deaths caused by government-mandated vaccines. Vaccine safety is not "settled science," as we have been hearing repeatedly in the media. To the contrary, for purposes of the law, vaccines are considered sometimes unsafe, even deadly. The "Vaccine injury table" associated with the legislation includes a list of the injuries, disabilities, illnesses, conditions, and deaths resulting from the administration of such vaccines. But why is it so difficult for the media to report on the existence of these health problems? The vaccines that are covered include:
As I reported in my column, the one exception to this drumbeat of misleading and inaccurate coverage about "vaccine safety" is on the local level, where correspondent Michael Chen of ABC 10 News in San Diego, California, noted a case of a boy who suffered serious injuries, including fever, seizures, nervous tics and autism, as a result of two vaccines. The mother, almost in tears as she described what happened to her son, was paid $55,000 in damages through the federal program. But the damage award didn't cover the autism diagnosis. She said she wished she had more thoroughly researched the safety of vaccines. The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program grew out of the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act. Fisher explains what happened: "The companies threatened Congress that they were going to leave the people without any childhood vaccines if they did not get liability protection. The companies wanted this liability protection and it was mainly for losses at that time for DPT and oral polio vaccine. MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) vaccine at that point was a relatively new combination vaccine." The DPT vaccine had been associated with brain inflammation and brain damage, while polio paralysis can be caused by the vaccine. Fisher explains what the federal protection means for the companies: "Nobody who makes or profits from the sale of the vaccine, nobody who regulates the vaccine, who promotes the vaccine, who votes to mandate the vaccine – nobody is accountable or liable in a civil court of law in front of a jury of our peers when we get hurt because we've been told we have to take it, or when the vaccine fails to work." The compensation program, with total liability protection for injuries and deaths caused by government-mandated vaccines, was upheld by the Supreme Court in a 2011 case in which vaccines were acknowledged to be "unavoidably unsafe." My column actually underestimated the total financial damages paid through the program. The figure is actually $2.8 billion to the victims or the families of victims themselves. Liberal and conservative media are trying to make political points over who's right and wrong about vaccine safety. But Fisher says people who support her group and vaccine choice come from across the political spectrum and include Democrats, Republicans, libertarians, and independents. In the media, however, each side is trying to smear the other side, as if there is a partisan divide. The coverage has led to cases of strange bedfellows, such as the George Soros-funded blog Think Progress running a story praising Megyn Kelly of Fox News under the headline "Megyn Kelly Speaks Up For Mandatory Vaccination On Fox: 'Some Things Do Require Big Brother.'" Indeed, Kelly defended mandatory vaccines, saying, "...some things do require some involvement of Big Brother." What she and many others in the media have consistently ignored is the role of Big Brother in shielding the companies making the vaccines from the side effects of their products. As I asked in my column: If there are no problems associated with vaccines, then why did Congress pass the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986, which created a National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program? The media on the left and right have no answer to this question. So they pretend there is no debate or dispute over the safety of vaccines. They simply point fingers about one side or the other being guilty of ignoring what they pretend is settled science. The only thing "settled" about the science is that while vaccines work for a large majority of people, they can also cause serious health problems, even death, for some. The commentators who ignore the truth are either lying or so utterly ignorant that they should not be in a position of offering "news" on a national basis. Whatever the case, the public is being denied the facts about decisions affecting the lives of their children. Fortunately, the public can go to sites like www.aim.org and the National Vaccine Information Center for information that is being denied to them. A troubling aspect of the current debate is how people in the media act like experts on subjects that they know so little about. They seem to think that by huffing and puffing and sounding authoritative, they will be taken seriously. They have large staffs which seem incapable of making phone calls or doing elementary research. If news organizations on the left and right can't even dig out the facts in life-and-death matters involving children, then what can they be trusted to report accurately on? © Cliff Kincaid

Media bias rears ugly head in vaccine controversy
By Cliff Kincaid The media think they have discovered another issue to beat Republicans over the heads with – vaccines. But the media have no credibility on this, or any other major health issue. They do have, and often demonstrate, a partisan political bias on such controversial matters. "Vaccination debate flares in GOP presidential race, alarming medical experts," states The Washington Post in horror. It's yet another attempt to portray Republicans as "anti-science." This follows the "climate change denier" mantra used against conservatives and Republicans for supporting pro-growth economic policies. In the measles case, NBC news is attacking Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky for "giving credence" to an idea – "disputed by the majority of the scientific community" – that "vaccination can lead to mental disabilities." That's interesting. As we reported back in 2006, NBC was aggressively covering the mercury-autism link involving vaccines. That was because Bob Wright, Vice Chairman and Executive Officer of GE and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NBC Universal, had a grandson who was autistic. Going further back in time, consider a program on the link between vaccines and mental problems which was aired by NBC in 1994 and featured Katie Couric as a co-host. If there are no problems associated with vaccines, then why did Congress pass the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986, which created a national Vaccine Injury Compensation Program? Michael Chen of ABC 10 News in San Diego reports on one mother whose son suffered a very serious vaccine reaction and was diagnosed with autism, and later Tourette syndrome, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and mitochondrial dysfunction. She was awarded $55,000 in damages. Chen reported that since 1988, 15,684 injury and death claims related to vaccines have been submitted to the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, and that among those, nearly 4,000 cases received compensation from a federal fund. Nearly $2 billion dollars has been paid out to vaccine victims for their injuries. But in response to New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie's support of parental choice in vaccines, CNN ran a story saying he had sidestepped "vaccine science." The Washington Post reported in 2008 that candidate Barack Obama had said, "We've seen just a skyrocketing autism rate. Some people are suspicious that it's connected to the vaccines. This person included. The science right now is inconclusive, but we have to research it." The phrase "This person included" was apparently a reference to someone in the audience. Now Obama acts as if all the science is settled. It is total hypocrisy. But the science is not settled. In regard to the measles outbreak, Barbara Loe Fisher of the National Vaccine Information Center points out that "there were 644 cases of measles reported in America in 2014, even though 95% of children entering kindergarten have gotten two doses of MMR vaccine, which is also true for 92% of school children ages 13 to 17 years." She also notes that "less than one percent of children under age three are completely unvaccinated and 92% of them have gotten one or more MMR shots. In some states, the MMR vaccination rate is approaching 100 percent." "From January 1 to January 30, 2015, 102 people from 14 states were reported to have measles," the CDC reports. Fisher notes that the "measles virus has not been eradicated from the U.S., just like measles has not been eradicated from any other country and emerging scientific evidence suggests it never will be – no matter how many doses of MMR vaccine are mandated for every man, woman and child in the world." Could it be possible that the shots aren't working? What about the fact that millions of Americans took flu shots that don't work? Did you miss this ABC News story: "Flu vaccine may not be effective for this year's strains, CDC says." Dr. Anne Schuchat, assistant surgeon general and director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, was quoted by CNN as saying, "this is not a problem with the measles vaccine not working. This is a problem of the measles vaccine not being used." So why are vaccinated people getting measles? The CDC admits that 12 percent of those with measles associated with Disneyland were vaccinated. What's more, some of the measles cases may be vaccine reactions. The fact is that the CDC just doesn't know why or what is happening. CNN, which is now trying to act "scientific" on the subject of vaccine safety, ran a January 15 column, "The climate is ruined. So can civilization even survive?" It was another effort to scare people over so-called global warming, or climate change. Here, too, Republicans have been portrayed as "anti-science" for opposing scare mongering over the climate, based on junk science. In this case, the editor's note said the author, David Ray Griffin, "is emeritus professor of philosophy of religion at Claremont School of Theology and Claremont Graduate University. His most recent book is Unprecedented: Can Civilization Survive the CO2 Crisis? The views expressed in this commentary are solely those of the author." That sounds impressive. Yet, Griffin's previous book was The New Pearl Harbor: Disturbing Questions About the Bush Administration and 9/11. It argues that Flight 77, a Boeing 757 which was seen by dozens of people crashing into the Pentagon, was actually a missile or small aircraft. He has no explanation for passenger Barbara Olson's call to her husband, Ted Olson, in the Justice Department, alerting him to the fact that the flight had been hijacked, other than to suggest that they were both part of a secret plan to conceal the truth and that it is not clear "what became of Barbara Olson." Griffin is an advocate of global government that he calls "global democracy" as the solution to the world's problems. According to the acknowledgements section of his new book, the "seed" for the book was a series of lectures he gave at the invitation of Zhihe Wang and Meijun Fan of the Communist Chinese Institute for Postmodern Development. Their specialty is "ecological Marxism." Not surprisingly, the book Organic Marxism: An Alternative to Capitalism and Ecological Catastrophe receives Griffin's endorsement. In a hastily added postscript to his own book, Griffin seems ecstatic that President Obama and Chinese leader Xi Jinping recently made an "executive agreement" about limiting carbon emissions. He says this "undercuts what had become the Republicans' main argument for doing nothing about climate change...." Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK), senior member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, is not impressed by the deal. He calls it "a non-binding charade" that benefits China. Griffin calls the GOP "the party of denial" – a charge the media will increasingly use as the presidential campaign moves forward. The Republicans ought to be getting used to this charge by now. But using a 9/11 truther to attack Republicans? Don't the media have any decency? Will Republicans stand up to the media attack? Or will they wilt in the face of dubious "science" promoted by reporters with no credibility? © Cliff Kincaid
