Hello,
I was wondering if start11 for home also contains searching text inside files. I see explicitly that the business version contains this.
It would be more clear to compare both products with a checklist so it is clear what the differences are.
Regards
From what I read in the Start11 product page: https://www.stardock.com/products/start11/, there are some additional features for Start11 business mention in there. But, not sure if there is differences in Search function. To know more, I have forward your question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.
Thank you.Basj,Stardock Community Assistant.
The only differences are deployment, activation, and support options.

Thank you for the fast feedback. Really appreciate this.
On the website I can only find "Deployment" overview and not activation and support options.
But if I understand it correctly, the products are the same for business and home apart from the options you mention?
So in my example, the Start11 for business shows that it is possible to search for text inside files (under the option "Control") so this is also available on the home version? Even if the control option is not explicitly mentioned there.
Another question is then, these rules goes also for the complete object desktop package? (only deployment/activation/support options that differ, all the rest is identical)
Here is the config from the home version on Search.
Thank you. I installed it but I cannot see any option to search. Is there any documentation on how to use the search to look into files?
Depending on the Menu style you have chosen, the Search box may or may not be shown in the Start11 menu. You can always open the Start11 menu and just start typing your search query, and the Search menu will open. You can also display the Search box on the Taskbar using the Windows Taskbar settings.
Be aware, that if you choose to search the contents of files as well as names, it will take a considerable amount of time to index your drive for search.
I understand, but what I am looking for is to use the search function inside the file explorer. I will select a folder, then I want to right click on the folder and look for a string (inside the files within the folder and also within the name of the file). But when I rightclick on a folder I don't see any available options to search. Also the normal search bar in windows, still does not look into the files, only for filenames and the folder option (always search file names and contents) to look into files is activated.
So, how do I use the start11 search function to work it like this?
Open the folder you want to search and use the explorer search box. This should let you search for properties and file contents.
This assumes you have the advanced Indexing Options set correctly.
Everything what you mention here is setup correctly but this is just standard behaviour of windows? Stardock mentions this as a feature for their start product so I expected a different search option. This is not the case then, so what is the benefit of using this with the Start product?
Then there is another question where they mention it is possible to quickly compare files. Also here, I don't see any menu item for doing that. Where can I find that?
Where are you seeing that listed?
I couldn't see anything about comparing files on the Start11 page.
