This is a really interesting article on TECHSPOT by Josh Tyler October 20, 2024
https://www.techspot.com/article/2908-the-zero-click-internet/
"The web is changing into the Zero Click Internet, and it will change everything about how you do everything. Zero Click Internet means you'll no longer click on links to find the content you want. In fact, much of the internet already works this way."
Read the Comments. They are actually more interesting than the article.
Let me know what you think about this phenomenon.
Hoo boy! I read the article and I confess I hallucinated the image of a poor goose imprisoned in a cage with a funnel jammed in its throat and food being pumped into it.
In that setting, "clickless internet" and paté de foie gras are equivalent. Choose your fave color for your funnel.
Then I remembered AOL. Those "platforms" are basically "portals" (foie Gras funnels, as it were)...with the superhuman effort of clicking being saved. Of course, watering hole cyberattacks will take on new dimensions.
Clickless internet or foie gras the ideocracy is on the March.
Doesn't sound good to me.
Accept spam or die.
No thanks!
Google is especially guilty of this practice. The first response to any query is almost always AI driven. I very rarely trust these responses, as they are usually unreliable or just flat wrong. I feel for the small information web site and news sites. Bing is really bad, because they scour the web for news and present it in their own format, leaving the originator of the news and their site out of the equation.
I'm glad I am of the generation that learned how to do things without the aid of calculators, computers, cell phones, or the the Internet. We were fortunate to learn how to use our brains to imagine and to solve problems. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for kids growing up in today's high-tech world!
Same with Brave browser. Their AI is called Leo. Cute, eh? Pbbbt.
I totally agree pelaird!
