I personally find this a major annoyance.
Game prompts you that aliens are running through your sectors.
You contact them and insist they leave.
They reply and assure you they will.
The aliens eventually leave.
Then, 2 turns later they are running through your sectors again.
But this time you can't reiterate that they leave again as it was too soon since the last time. ???
I'd also like to see probes removed from triggering the "ships in your area" kind of notice. OK, so they have scouts, so what? I've got the too, and I am going to scout their territory too.
It is not uncommon, around mid-game, to have 4 - 5 different Alien Civs all in various states of transgression of your borders.
It is absolutely maddening trying to keep up with these violators and cycle through the diplomatic dialog to insist they withdraw from your sectors, turn after turn.
Come on Devs, if you are looking for a "un-fun" game mechanic to fix - look no further!
FYI - I believe the values below from GlobalDefs.xml govern this "feature".
Is the AI losing track of the "GetOffMyLawn" flag - or - simply ignoring it?
To clarify a misunderstanding on your part in this and your next two post.
There are no borders in GC4 only zones of influence.
The AI is not Trespassing just passing through.
So the diplo option to not trespass should not even be in game as it has zero effect or as you observed next to zero.
This has been covered many times here in the Steam Forums and Discord.
At this time I recall no mention of it changing.
Now on a personal level I agree that there should be borders and a much longer period after a demand to leave.
What I would like to see in Diplo is a "Don't call us we'll call you" option and all agreements I make with the AI last a minimum of 10K turns. Might get the first option doubt if I will get more than 50 (4 years) on the second.
If the "Get Off My Lawn" feature is not really implemented, then it should not present players with the option to assert it. That just adds to the confusion.
No borders huh? Didn't expect that. Really having a hard time getting my head around it. Missile ships that can fire 4 hexes, but no geo-political borders?
I am trying to recall any syfy depiction of space fairing races where there were no geospace claims established. Nope, cannot think of any. But whatever.
Regarding the following, that can be interpreted as being very dismissive as if to say - this has already been discussed and you should not raise it again - rather or not I was aware of everything that has transpired on discord, steam, ...
Statements like that have a chilling effect on players providing ongoing, constructive feedback regarding the game.
If there exists a bizarro-wacky game mechanic, players should feel free to raise it whenever it is encountered - irrespective if they were part of the original conversation.

You might have a point about saying I should not have told you not to bring this up again.
If I had said that.
My whole post was an FYI as to how borders or lack of them was handled in the game.
The last part being that this has been covered many times and is not currently been mentioned as under consideration for change.
That is an FYI statement not a do not to bring this up statement.
Had I not wanted it brought up I would have reported your initial post and not given you an answer at all.
Fair enough.
However - "reported your initial post" ?
- Report for what? Providing user feedback in the GalCiv IV Feedback forum?
- Do you commonly report posts you do not want brought up?
So, was the following settings discussed? These appear to be diplomatic penalties for using the "Get Off Your Lawn" request to leave your sectors.
If this feature does not exist, then why have diplomatic penalties associated with it?
FYI - In the XML files, it appears that this feature is using both of the following labels interchangeably:
- 'YourLawn'
- 'MyLawn'
As a professional software engineer, these naming inconsistencies would distress me and I would see as a potential point of failure & source for potential bugs. Hopefully there is a real purpose for using both MyLawn and YourLawn labels.
Would not have reported your post that had a legitimate question and did not cross the Rules.
I would have if it did violate the Terms of Service, was spam or a necro that did not add to the discussion and was 6 months or more since last post.
No I am not a rules dictator but a mod on Steam and Discord and report violations for this sites Mods.

sites Mods.... that has its own forum here: https://forums.galciv4.com/forum/1228
Which is distinct from this one?
Not really seeing anything relevant regarding reporting user feedback posts on this forum.
But hey, if that is what you want to spend your free time doing, good luck with that.
Mods as in Moderators not game modders.
Well it is, after all, outer space. "Hey you alien, get your Voyager probe out of my interstellar space. It's violating my solar system sovereignty."
