In my current game I'm in control of about 4.5 sectors. As the turn progresses and I move from ship to ship, I also jump from sector to sector. This is very dis-orientating, I have to keep on scrolling out to see what sector I'm in. If the turns completed per sector then I'd be able to keep just the current sector in context. That will accelerate each turn.
Thank you for the report, would you be kind enough to share your save file of the game? To be clear you're saying it would be more helpful if the ships changed to all of the ones in the same sector before moving to the next correct?
Where would you me like to save the game to? They're ~25Mb large so not sure a straight upload back to this forum is appropriate.
If you could use a dropbox link that tends to be the most common method
Yes.
Current save game. You can see it jumps from sector to sector as it moves through the ships requiring instruction.
This is a common problem with most if not all games.
It happens in the Civ games and GC I-III as well it just is not as irritating.
Many people complain that the jump from unit to unit is random, I believe that it is mostly by the order of build also.

Sounds like GalCiv4's Sector system would make this an easier fix compared to other games. No need for an algorithm to run determining which ship is closest to the current one when you finish your orders for that ship, instead each ship already has a sector designator in its code to limit immense pathfinding so this could be used to cycle through all idle ships in the current sector before jumping to the next while utilizing whatever method they already have such as build order.
Sounds like a ten minute coding fix if you know where the relevant code is.
I don't know if it's a ten minute fix, but it is a change that I would also like to see.
