: The Spread :
Race Description
The Spread is a sentient fungus that originated in the swamp-like lagoons of their home world, The Source Spore. They exist through various stages of a metamorphic life cycle. Meaning like some Earth creatures, say the butterfly, they have a transformative life cycle where their physical body undergoes radical changes.
They spend much of their time as an interconnected subterranean web of fibres which can grow in size to envelope entire worlds, this state is known as The Web. Technically the Spread is a single organism no matter what world you find it, but the evolution of consciousness brought with it the development of individuality, where each Web is a separate entity and a unique individual.
The Filament Web grows protrusions regularly through a seasonal cycle. During which Spore develop above ground and then detach themselves to live completely autonomous lives. At the time of Spawning, each Spore has an identical genetic memory to the Web from which it came. This effectively makes each batch of Spore identical clones of body and mind. Once they are detached and they are no longer connected in any way to The Web life experiences allow them to develop unique personalities as they explore the universe.
Most Alien races to the Spore have no idea the Webs even exist and believe the Spore is the Race itself. As in all meaningful ways the Spore act and exists like most carbon-based civilisations. It is only their birth and death that are unique.
Individual Spore are obsessed with gaining experiences and developing into something unique for the final act in their life cycle is to be reintegrated into the Web itself. Adding all the knowledge and unique personality traits they have developed into the Web's collective conscious. This act in many ways changes the web into what some races might call a new generation, for the Web is no longer the same individual it was before the return of the Spore. This same integration happens between Webs when Webs connect under the planet's surface during the Envelopment.
Spore can also form new Webs. This is how they travel the galaxy, landing on a planet and growing a new Web of The Spread. Some Spore spawn with the life goal of simple travelling to other Webs to integrate and share knowledge.
Race Strengths and Weaknesses
The Spread, once full grown, are effectively living planets. The entity known as the Web will eventually cover the entire surface of the globe just above the rock layers of the continents and float across seas. The entire ecosystem of the planet becomes dependent and symbiotic with the Spread. This means that Pollution is particularly harmful to The Spread and all Spore are deeply concerned with environmental issues.
Also, as a semi-Hivemind race, many concepts of social interactions are Alien to Spore. They have no reference for Intimidation, Persuasiveness or Deceptiveness. This means that they have limited choices during decision making and lack tools required to be able to easily interact with other aliens in a diplomatic or social setting.
The Spread is often considered to be likeable creatures by other Aliens. They are not overly interested in diplomatic manoeuvring, or intrigue. They also have no intrinsic understanding of technology beyond the practicality of its use. This means that The Spread are honest traders, who are easy to fool and quick to offer things beyond their value, for The Spread's only real motivation is to grow its form and nurture The Webs.
They are often considered quaint and good natured by others and the Spore's lust for new experiences makes them fun and exciting to be around. Also, The Spread flows like water, always in the direction of least resistance. The only times it is ever really aggressive is when it is prevented from growing. The Spread's philosophy here is that it is simply easier to move away from others than fight with them. So many races do not even perceive them as a threat until The Spreads true size is finally realised.

[OOC]
Hi guys... this is going to be my first AAR in a few years (since Stellaris Launch). I ma not sure how fast I will be updating it but I intend to try and keep this live. I will be trying something new here by doing a classic AAR but also adding in small video sections that I hope will read like "Galaxy New Broadcasts". As you can tell I get into the RP side of 4X games.. so with luck this thread will read well over time. Hope you guys like it and please drop a comment for any reason you may have. Comments even criticism is crack for content creators!
Have fun and ROLL HIGH

I am already excited to see where this is going. Hopefully our new friends will all be fun guys.
The Bureau of Realtime Historic Consentience
Chronicler : Data Integration Thought Entity 3⭡⭡3⭡⭡3
My observations have concluded on the growth of the species locally known as The Spread which originates from Dimension Khass, Galactic Cluster Slaxit. As requested I have witnessed the entire growth of this species from its genesis, using Crikanious's Model of Significant Event Recognition; to The Spreads final extinction as defined by X'tiac's Almanac of Biological Forms : Evolution.
The packets your currently integrating represent the real-time progression of The Spread during its age of Galactic Expansion. All data is attainted directly form a ZeroPoint Cube recently retrieved from The Curve which has absorbed the dimensional bubble known as Khass during the moments of its collapse. Filters have been put in place to focus the data so you may enjoy the real-time experience of this report without the need to install barrier guides of any kind.
As discussed we will skip right to the moment of The Spread's first Colony Launch and then proceed from there. As usual we are using basic sentience simulation of key individuals to host the information in a mind case to make things easier to relate to and understand. Due to a quirk derived from The Spread being a transitional galactic hivemind we are, again, in the enviable position of needing to simulate only a single mind to achieve a parallel for this entire species.
For the most part I will allow the Sentience Simulation to speak for itself and frame events. If it is called for I'll will of course step in to offer more detail when it is required or requested.
Sentience Simulation : The Spread
Preparations have been completed. Today marks a new growth. I've worked for an age to get to this point and it is with a weight that I consider entire generations of Spore may well be separated from me for such a unknown period of time. Not since the first growth have I ever been so fragmented. Much has been completed during the preparations. The launches has been successful, the shipyards constructed and the final scans of what surrounds me have been completed and analysed. Time weighs on me as I haven't much time to enact the many changes which will ensure the long term supply of Spore to support the formation of this new Web. A Galactic Web. One that will span me across the space between the stars themselves.
[DITE] - The first growth was the exploration of The Spreads Homeworld itself. This lead to the development of many separate Webs that were not finally unified for 123,456.79 years (local frame) after the first Spore chose to explore beyond the ancestral swamps.
My home has a good source of material in the form of a 6 Hex Asteroid Belt. I'll have to look for an early opportunity to develop Asteroid Mining to exploit it. The two local planets to me are planned as my first colonisation targets. Spore 1 is a dead planet but by propelling a large quantity of Web from myself to this planet I should be able to turn such lifeless worlds into fledgling planets ready for life and eventual terraforming.
It seems that I am in a favourable position in my Cluster. My research tells me that being on the edge of a Cluster would ensure a more defensible and stable growth point than being closer to the centre. It does appear that we are low in nearby resources, judging by the prolific yellow suns about me. This is unexpected and while it could mean I'll have good choices for Growth, I am worried about contact with possibly hostile Aliens and the unpredictability they could bring. Without resources to fuel technology and innovation I'll be open to exploitation by others.
With my new observational telescopes built far into space upon my shipyards I have found a potentially fantastic opportunity at Inness II. My Original plan was to Spore the dead world at home and then colonise both my home planets, but Inness II is by far the better choice. I'll send my planned Colony Ship to Inness II. The Spore on this ship were spawned for this task, but I'll need to call Spore from their chosen lives to fill a 2nd Colony Ship. This is sure to effect them negatively.
Also I can see that the Blue Star near me seems to be rich in Thulium, a material that if abundant will guide my choices of technical achievement. Probably the most intriguing close quarter object to me is a Precursor Relic, one that appears to contain information on biological growth. Growth is a taxing effort and anyway to lessen my burden and increase my growth is a first choice priority.
: Decisions :
While Spore 1 could be reached, (now called Acorn), Inness II will take an extra day before the draft colonists arrive. I also chose to send my one probe out in the same direction to see if there are any more supporting planets in this area. A level 35 Planet is unlikely to be alone as the forces needed to form it in the first place would surly protect the formation of other systems.
My one qualm here is that I am not sure it is worth developing a connected Web on Inness II. It is so close in the Galactic Cluster to my Source that it could restrict materials coming from The Growth to other planets that could be more efficiently used by me here. My original plan is to to only connect myself to other Webs in distant corners of the Cluster. Allowing a more even distribution of resources between worlds. For now Innes II is destined to just be a very good colony.
The Spawning has produced great candidate's for the coming tasks. To my joy Socotra Coin has chosen to apply for while he is not as famous as his sibling, his dedication to me and my Spread has manifested in a deep cultural connection with other Spore who also share the excitement of my great spread. This cultural boost from Coin and all who follow him will be greatly useful in controlling my Spore, who's very nature makes them so unpredictable due to their obsession for individuality. I expected to have to wait years before galvanising so many Spore to a single group task. As an added bonus greed has not shown its head among the Spore Candidates. I am able to use the funds available to retain the focus of all three Spore without the need to to wait for more funds to accumulate.
Assigning Coin as my Minister of Technology ensures that the Spores efforts at innovation will provide more choice and be achieved faster. Marcel will be a fine Minister of Colonization ensureing the needs of the Spore are met during this trying time. Though I will be looking for better suited ministers when I have the chance. I really wanted to assign at least one to The Nature League, a faction of Spore that promotes growth, as forming new Webs on as many worlds as possible is my one true desire, and this will require a spread beyond anything I have ever known.
I assigned Kel to the lonely task of captaining Pollen. A ship I designed to rain down spore upon the World Webs of the planets it stands sentry to. This constant fall of Spore should allow more Spawns to form in the Webs, increasing growth, as well as nourishing the planets ecosystem, providing sustenance and balance for the Web.
Coin's unexpected but welcome cultural galvanisation of the Spore upon me allowed enactment of the Sustainability Project sooner than planned. This project will ensure lower Pollution levels across my Spread. The benefits of which are to numerous to calculate, but not least of all is that the Spore will be much happier considering the awful blight that manufacturing causes. A necessary evil to cross stela-space lessened due to a single Spore and its convictions.
Coin's presented options for technical development is a hard decision. Space Elevators and Hyperwave Radio are particularly intriguing at this time. Still with the close Growth Precursor Artefact and the close Thumium deposits, I think early Star Bases is the correct choice.
Even with Coerced Colonization and medium taxes I am still only getting 26% of Spore feeling dissatisfied. I am sure this is Coin's doing. Nothing keeps Spore happy more than low pollution levels.
This view of myself is disorientating, but it dose allow me to consider the relationships between the structures that Spore seem to require. My first point of interest is to improve the lives of my Spore. Reintegration can be... resentful if they have not lead fulfilling and happy lives.
I believe I may gain a lot of resources during my spread as Webs form on other worlds feed me their resources, this includes the materials I require to do manufacturing. While it is temping to plan out huge project lines, I think for now I will keep it simple and make a small entertainment district, that will feed into a financial district latter on.
Finally I choose to construct another colony ship and then another set of probes. This should allow time for my 1st probe to travel and possibly find better targets for spread than Spore 1. With the creation of two ships per construction slot I should be able to quickly explore the cluster near to me and not loose any relative time in colonisation.
Excuse the verbose nature of this initial imprint. Please take some time to make sure your connections are stable before continuing. The Bureau considers the formative actions of a race as it beings it movement into the stars to be of upmost importance. I will of course be reducing the resolution of the cube flow for future sensory induction, unless particularly interesting events unfold that require a similar detailed bandwidth.
Lets reconvene at the hour of scampering.
Well, first post is down. It is hard to work out what to say and what not to.. but I do not plan to make them so detailed every time. This took a lot more time than I expected! I realise this was long and all for a single turn, but turn 0 is so important and really sets up so many turns down the line. I plan to put a much more truncated description of things with turn count jump. So next post my be turn 10, depending on if interesting things happen.
Hope you liked it.
Have Fun and ROLL HIGH
Great post, loved the immersion ! Yea, there's definitely a lot of odds and ends to figure out on the first turn, it definitely didn't seem excessively long to me or anything.
Looking fwd to seeing where it all goes. Hopefully you do not find yourself having a "next to Festron" start!
hah

Very interesting, thanks for posting!
Now that I have made the preparations, there is little to do but wait. I worry so about my Spore going so far, with no way to reintegrate. Death is now a final end to all they have known. Now they travel to a distant worlds on which to form new Webs. A new voice. A new Spread. One which I will one day integrate with and together we will form a new whole. Not for millennia have I been so excited and tantalised by the unknown.
My spore have arrived at Innes II, deciding to called it Gia. While this is an amazing Level 35 planet, I am not sure it is wise to form a new Web so close to me. Not when my probe has revealed such a offering of other large habitable planets so close by.
Gia and her sibling Inness III will be fine feeder worlds. Sending to the Source large quantities of resources and wealth. Brendor I is also rich in minerals. Once I have spread to these planets, I'll be able to produce large quantities of manufacturing with little to no infrastructure built upon me. This should mean I will not have to absorb the poisons produced by the destructive manufacturing methods required to build fast enough to fuel my spread.
Once I was done thinking about how Star Bases would function, I decided to focus on Asteroid Mining. I have a decently sized asteroid field just near me that would be a huge boost to my mineral inputs.
The Spores research on Star Base Design has left with two prototypes. The first one I position near the Precursor Life Relic, and use a Xeno Archaeology Lab. Making sure the Star Base's radius encompasses me and Acorn, so the communications from our worlds penetrate deeper into the void, growing our influence in this part of the Sector.
The other prototype I send to the Thulium orbiting the Blue sun just next to me. After much manoeuvring it seems impossible to have all 3 deposits in range of the one Mining Base. I'll need to look at extending my Star Base's range to take advantage of the other deposit in the future. I'm certain this situation will pop up more often than not as I explorer.
Now that I am bringing in Thulium I can look at uses for it, and one use is to be used in sensor equipment to create near absolute zero temperatures on equipment while at the same time shielding infrared light completely. This allows my Spore to create a telescopic sensor, which I can mount onto a ship that will peer far further into space than anything before. The equipment is bulky though. I'll need to find a way to make larger ships more viable. For now I have to make my new Probe slower by removing the booster drive to allow room for sensor. I am now calling the original ships design "Planet Probes" and the new ones "Sentry Probes".
As my Planet Probes head to world after world, much of space is left unexplored. These new slower Sentry Probes can follow in their wake revealing all that the surrounding areas have to offer. They will also make great Sentry Drones. Ships I can just park on the edge of my boarders to be alerted if anything is coming close, and possibly be a threat.
I update my build ques at the shipyard from Planet Probes to Sentry Probs. There is no lost time, or increases build time for the new designs. I'm pleased with what feels like a efficient sequence of events.
The Spore and I feel that, for now, we are doing pretty well with infrastructure. Now is the time to focus on two things. With the back bone of the manufacturing complete by having Star Bases, Asteroid Mining, as well as feeder colonisation, now is the time to improve our research systems and speed up the acquisition of new technologies. As always I am particularly interested in Planetary Technologies to aid in early colonisation and improvements, for I need new worlds to spread to and I am the world. For now a way to communicate with the fledgling Webs being formed close to me is a priority and Hyperwave Radio may only be a theory, but it shows great promise and huge practical application.
My Planet Probe has found a new world. This one is a Precursor World. The Precursors once a ancient and powerful race that have left their mark across the Galaxy, but their worlds are often barren wastelands for their love of steel and circuit pushed the core of the green from their homes. The lure of powerful artefacts and technology pulls me to this world, but I do not believe my Spore will want to live there. They will have harsh lives living among the cracked and dried remnants of a race that never valued the glory of nature.
On the way it also found a antimatter deposit. Like Thulium there are many uses for this, not just its awesome explosive properties. Though I'm sure if I need to fight that will come in handy. The only thing is that there is a single node around this black hole, and I am not convinced that it is a efficient use of resources to build a mining base here at this time. The population needed to run the Space Station would be more useful to me in colony ships driving my spread.
... and the Spread is moving at its own pace. My shipyard has produced the next two Colony Ships and I have sent them out to the largest of the near planets.
I finally decide to send a ship to the Precursor World. Unfortunately few Spore wish to make the journey to such a inhospitable place, so I have to enact the draft, as I did once before. This will not make the Spore happy. There is little they dislike more than having their personal paths interfered with, but I feel a great need to spread. A feeling that I have not felt since I became whole upon the Source Spore. The need consumes me. It drives me.
To aid them in their plight I will focus my efforts on Planetary Improvements and try and save this world. I think I will even form a web on it and develop this world into a manufacturing powerhouse. Using the improvements to slowly bring the green back to this world for the Web that will form there.
The finalization of Hyper-Wave Radio allows me to institute more bureaucratic system to oversee the unprecedented events I am living through. I thought Shoddy Construction would have been a great choice for me, allowing me to build cheaper but the 300% increase in maintenances costs seems excessive, at least until I find a way to keep them down. I may change this, but for now I am going to go with Heart of the Empire.
My Colony ships have arrived on Innes III and Brendor 1... but on Brendor 1 gets ravaged by storms, damaging the fledgling colony domes. My Spore, are me. I can no more see them suffer than I myself suffer. Compassion is my only choice.
Following the lead of Gia the Spore choose to name their new webs Jörð and Zemyna.
At this time I would like to bring to your attention The Spread's current known understanding of the geography of their creation sector. If you look at your imprint's data flow you may notice that the Cube's resolution has been greatly reduced for the incoming packets. This is for The Spread is now entering the bulk period of it's first Age of Galactic Expansion. As noted through the study of "Time Arrows and Form Predictive Flows", a data block accumulated from a filter run on every cube collected so far, forms like The Spread tend to progress in irregular patterns. With sudden explosive changes and periods of little activity. We are entering a low activity period, so the Cube Stream has been adjusted. Allowing the lack of meaningful events to be experienced at an accelerated pace.
The Spread will be devoting all its attention on growing Spore and building Colonisation Fleets. These fleets will be following the many probes sent on ahead to scout the surrounding Sector. Using a system of planet evaluation based on colonisable land mass these probes are looking for large scale planets with as much continent space as possible. This is to facilitate construction on these land masses allowing The Spread to provide for the needs of it's Spore, the fledgling Webs they will form, and the infrastructure they all require.
The Source Spore is currently on around a five month cycle for spawning new Spore with the desire to found new worlds. Due to The Spores prolific nature and shorter individual life spans they tend to construct less durable and long lasting equipment, but this in turn means that for the same production effort as many other life forms in their plane they often produce more. This means that each Colony Ship project will be producing two Ships, not one. It is vital for efficacy to never have a colony ship project complete if there is less then 3 populations on The Source Spore, as 2 will be required for those projects to complete successfully without waste.
To slow down these projects and allow the seasonal spawning of Spore to be completed before the Colony Ship Projects complete, The Spore will be building probes, until a fleet large enough to map the Sector has been formed and then using field Missions into the void with the express purpose of bringing in funding for these projects to continue. By delaying the main Colony Projects with these smaller less important ones and juggling them around as Spore spawn, The Spread can ensure that the colony ships are being produced as fast as possible with no waste, for there are always two free population to be utilised on the colony transorts.
These additional funds made during this time, along with other financial systems the Spore introduce, will be used to secure notable Spore dedicated to the promotion of the Web's growth. This growth will speed the spawning cycle of The Spore and allow quicker construction of Colony Ship Projects and Space Base Projects.
By Data Point 35 The Spread has completed it's exploration and expansion into all the major systems in the Sector. In opposition to my predictions based on previous Cube Times, The Spread ran into no other sentient races of any kind. I would have expected at least one other race in their home Sector itself, and one or more of the more natural Spacefairing races to have explored into this part of the Galaxy and made contact.
While there are still colony ships in transit to some planets. The Spread is now thinking more about infrastructure. Particularly Star Bases to claim territory and expand the Spreads influence and retrieve the valuable resources discovered.
The Spreads focus in technology was also completely focused on Colonisation, with the aim of having the tech needed to Spore any type of world that they may come across. This means technologies to facilitate life on extreme, as well as oceanic worlds. This also includes moving the Star Base module system from the prototype stage, used in the initial Star Bases, into a full production ready technology.
After developing Oceanic Worlds the Spread shift to technological research to improve infrastructure but Military systems becomes a growing priority. This is caused by the discovery of two hostile groups within their sector. A set of well funded and equipped pirates and a nest which spawns very territorial space creatures. Both these groups will attack any ship in their range and even siege vulnerable colonies in some cases.
The Spread has been gathering Thulium from the early days of the expansion and due to the pressures of colonising as fast as possible has had no spare population to build more Star Bases. With Thulium as the only exotic material in their possession The Spread is forced into a standard Kinetic Weapons path for its military at this point, but with out the ability to construct larger and more durable ships, these weapons will do little to improve their chances of a serious encounter with a hostile group.
The Spread seems more and more worried about being un prepared for hostile contact. Not running into any local to the sector, Alien races has increased The Spread's paranoia. To help in this regard The Spread chose to reassigns research teams from their current paths of discovery and forced their focus on Engineering. This was to find a way to construct larger ships to hold more powerful weapons before the very first military fleets start construction.
It seems clear that the age of expansion is coming to an end and now it is time for the Spore to look at securing this sector. This will require the formation of a fleet to wipe out the hostiles and also the creation of more colony ships. It would seem the best way for them to go forward would be to grow a significant web on one other maybe even two or three other planets and turn them into Core Worlds Then dedicate The Source Spore to producing colonists and have this new or new Web focus on manufacturing fleets.
G'Day... I tried to sit down and make the videos last night.. but it was just so much footage and really hard to do... particularly as I was alt-tabbing out all the time to make the screen shots and stuff. I have removed the Video Tag form this post and abandoned this part of the project. I still want to make the "video AAR"... but I think I will do it as a project on its own rather than combining the two. The problem is that to get dynamic shots in game, I need to shoot them as I am playing, in the same way I take the screen shots.. having the raw footage just didn't work I think.
EDIT : Just accidently closed my browser and lost almost an entire new AAR post! Form now on I will add a W.I.P (Work in Progresso) message to the top of the post and save edits as I go so the information can not be lost like this again. Probably best to read the thread one the W.I.P tag has been removed!.. or not... it usually means I am playing at the time the sign is up, so feel free to drop into Discord and say hi or offer advise!
My Spore have flung themselves into the corners of my Sector and found little. While there is an abundance of planets on which to make new Webs, they found no other Space Fairing Civilisations. I was sure we would have a direct neighbour and possible have multiple Alien contacts by now from other explores. We have only found a kind of space born creature and a den of Spore who have formed a web with no intention of reintegrating. These "Pirates" and the Space Creatures are hostile, but nothing to worrying.
I am worried about this lack of Alien contact. I can only come to two conclusion. We are in a isolated part of the galaxy and truly alone, or we are in a isolated part of the Galaxy and a Alien Civilisation encloses or blocks us from the greater galactic community. I think it is the latter, and for that to be true, this Alien Race must be a hostile or Xenophobic one. For if they were like me, surly they would allow other civilisations to travel through their space and reach out to me. I need to think of my closest galactic neighbour as hostile, for it is the safest conclusion.
My Spread has been consuming all my thoughts but now I need to focus on building a fleet to protect myself from this possibly aggressive race bottlings me in, secure my sector form the hostile factions that have formed and ramp up my ability to produce machinery before I push deeper into the Galaxy.
To that end it is time to form Webs on distant worlds. I have a number of Worlds I feel are large enough to utilise for the growth of a web, but I do not want to simply form a web on every large world I find. I think two or three other Webs in this sector, each as far as possible from each other would be the correct ammount. This way each world will be surrounded by smaller colonies feeding them resources, instead of standing alone.
I'm also looking for something specific. I want a Forge World. One dedicated to manufacturing and with it start building a fleet to ease my paranoia. A Probe World that explores the depths of reality and then distils that knowledge into new technologies also feels like something I should be focusing on.
I am short of funds so am limited to my current crop of Spore that are busily involved in the Natures League. Azarar Vertar seems like a strong candidate. Not only is he loyal, but he is also a expert in Thrive Science. His mere presence will allow the population of the planet to grow larger with no infrastructure needed. His methods are not always appreciated, so he will have to keep an eye on contentment of his Spore. The Weakest candidate is Rafflesia Schnell. He makes a excellent administrator of projects like the Nature's League, but as a governor his skills are lacking.
No Spore, practically those that ar not spawned with the thought to do something, want to be directed to do something else. Sending any of these Spore to a new world as governor will angry them and the very independence of distance will lower their loyalty to me. While I am eager to meet these new webs not for millennia have I existed with a competing Spread that has no intention of returning to the source. Loyalty is something I greatly prize.
So I will ask Schnell to scout all the planet candidates. Each assignment and reassignment will damage his relationship with me, but once done I can put him back to work at home in the Nature's League, were his discontentment will do little to phase me.
Rafflesia Schnell's inspection of the available plants proves t be extremely informative, but the personal cost was great. The lone wandering of the Sector, mapping the worlds, being apart form friends and colleagues. It has affected it mentally and I fear he is no longer able to even integrate. It's entire life will be lost in time, his personality and experiences gone in a instant never to be part of my future. There is nothing more devastating to a Spore than becoming incompatible with integration. It will forever resent me and this task it completed. I'll have to watch it closely, it he may try to form a new Spread.
For now its place is back in the Nature's League. The scaring of its mind will do little or no damage here, and it can still add to the Spreads Whole. I will create a monument to Schnell. A great wall and on it I'll record all the lost Spore during this Spread so their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Vertrar is now ready to take up his role as Governor. I've narrowed down the choices to three planets. Each chosen for the colonisable land mass the plants contain, as well as the nature resources of those continents. The other major factor in narrowing them down was to consider the great cluster. Each of these planet are far from each other and supported by a close group of colonies. They should make strong Webs among the spore in their areas.
The old Precursor World, Diploria is obviously the best choice as a Forge World, yet they very nature of this world being so harsh and inhospitable means that Spore growth will be at a shocking low.
Aster is a strong candidate for a world that will eventually be a sister planet to me. The web there will be a Source Spore in its own right. There is ample room for food, housing and all other needs.
I wish to set up a Forge World though. One polluted with the waste of such endeavours. I do not want to squander a world like Aster. So it is to Soil that I look to for a world to set up my Galactic Forge, and form there I will start the construction of a fleet to protect and secure this sector. I will send someone to Aster, but I will get this Forge World up and running first so as not to starve it of colonies to aid it's growth.
While this is not the most impressive planet it's location in the Sector is perfect, and the continental land available is particularly suited for manufacturing and little else. It is tightly clumped with each area able to stand adjacent to the next allowing for large industrial complexes to be built.
Now Azara's work can begin.
Super creative civilization and a great playthrough to boot! I enjoyed reading, thanks for sharing.
Feeling a little burned out on this at the moment. Went to do another page but found it really hard to find the motivation.. I need a short break... bbs.
Please be aware that the resolution of the Reality Feed will be reduced significantly for the coming period starting from Data Point 035 until ??. This is due to the fact that The Spread is entering a period of little activity. It's growing paranoia is driving the Spread to focus greatly on military development, and to fuel this comes large scale planetary industrialisation. So while there are some points of note, like the containment, and latter eradication of the Pirates and other Space Born threats, this time cublet consists almost exclusively of researching military and ecological planetary technologies and the construction of a defensive fleet.
The development of Soil as a Forge World is planned and set into motion. At the same time work begins on turning Aster into a Planetary Research Lab.
The Spore is expecting criminal activity on these new worlds as it will take a while for happiness to rise enough to ensure a crime free, and high production lifestyle of the Spore that live here. To aid in this The Spread invokes a Galactic Wide Program to try and reduce crime, while at the same time putting more resources into the creation of the new defensive fleet.
It wasn't soon until a newly spawned Spore became popular among the people. Like Coin before him Isoda had a deep cultural connection to the Web. A unity radiated form his influence across The Spread fostering a deep need for Charity as a basic tenant of life. Leading to many and varied effect, not least of which is a vastly lowered crime rate. Allowing The Spread to Remove Security Lights and reimplement Coerced Colonisation.
So after the crack down on crime Soil was able to put a stop of a large smuggling ring. Further stamping out crime across the Sector.
I've reached my image upload count? How do I continue?
Well I can not get any help on this.. so I guess the aar is over : (
That's a real shame, I was really enjoying your AAR.
Nooooooooooo.
Aww, was really enjoying it too. Please help forum admin.
I'll investigate this and get back to you. There shouldn't be a limit on the AAR boards.
Edit (27/05/2022): I've spoken with some of our people. Still being discussed. Hopefully we can get a higher limit, my hope is something specific for the AARs so it still limits spam.
Okay I've had some discussion and it turns out this might be a bug. The 30 image limit is related to "abandoned images" to prevent spam. This comes from a user refreshing the page when creating a post or moving images around in the draft stage.I assume in the process you do one or both of the two Tragic?
Edit: Spoke more with one of our web gurus. There is now a check running that should ensure images are not being falsely labelled as abandoned. This is done daily.Apologies for the delay in getting this resolve but it should all work fine now.
great news... I still have the save and will try and get this up and running again soon!
Great news!!!
There was much rejoicing.
