Will the game support Linux?
There are no plans at this time for a Linux version.
why not? people should have a choice on which operating system to play. and there will be steam deck support right away. teak deck runs on linux.
Because the cost of creating Linux ports is prohibitively expensive for studios compared to the people who buy games solely on Linux.
The Deck is cheifly designed to run games that support Windows in a compatability layer called Proton so there is even less reason to create native linux ports ironically.
If there wasn't this bug I bet would have been able to run it on my laptop which is running Linux, like all other Epic games via Heroic Launcher. (atm playing the game on Windows only on my PC)
Trying to run the game without the launcher executes game twice. » Forum Post by Panos4860 (galciv4.com)
When the game is moved to Steam it will work via the Steam - Proton like the majority of the Steam games tbh.
Imho no Linux ports αρε needed since Proton and DXVK existed.
