Tell us what you'd like to see us work on for Object Desktop this year.
New apps? Update existing apps? You let us know.
Would really like to see some updates for Deskscapes. I use that more than any of the other pieces of skinning software (except Start 10).
Deskscape 10 is on it's way and you will see some new features " Stay-Tuned "
Thanks for the info and thanks for the beautiful Dreams you post. You are a real artist in that area and I and my Computer's background would like to tell you how much we appreciate your work.
Thank You Larry
I've been an Object Desktop subscriber for more than 10 years. My favorite program is WindowBlinds and I continue to change themes often. My next favorite is Iconpackager, you can't change your WindowBlinds theme without changing the icons!! My next favorite is DeskScapes, although when I'm using it my monitor periodically flashes on and off despite having 9 gigs of RAM and a discrete graphics card (usually drives me nuts and I have to uninstall DeskScapes). My next two favorites are Fences and Start10. I used to use SoundPackager and am excited that it is being developed for Windows 10!!
PLEASE CONTINUE DEVELOPING WINDOWBLINDS AND ICONPACKAGER!!!!!! If these two programs go away, then I will quit my support of Stardock too.
BTW Larry ,
In the past there was a lot of lower Quality video on line but now that has changed
and Higher Quality video is more available , due to copyright issues length of time
we are allowed to use is the main reason for a slow down on the video Dreams ,
but just for you I'll see if I can stay within those limits
and get a few new video dreams headed your way .... again " Stay-Tuned ".
For the record. If WindowBlinds goes then so do I. I'll quit this place in a heart beat!
It does seem like WindowBlinds is the core of it all, at least it is for me. I really hope I don't have to look at the default Win10 interface for the rest of my life, that's a pretty depressing thought.
I am probably the exception over the common, but I have 4 monitors, 2x4k and 2x2k monitors and 2 video cards to make them all work and still be able to play a game.
While I do miss the prettier look of windows 7, I do get how much of a resource effort that can put on a system.
I love fences, greatest program ever. But never had much luck with winblinds or winfx...and never much cared about the icons since they change so often anyways, so I wouldn't miss them.
What I very dearly miss (and yes I know I can download an app to put them back, which I did for a year or two) is the gadgets, or something like them. There was an app a few years ago that you made that was similar but I don't remember what it was. I liked having the current weather and cpu temp/load, as well as network activity.
For me I keep renewing my subscription because I love fences and sometimes use the start 10...but partially because not many are doing any form of desktop customization, and I hope you can keep doing so in the future.
-I MUST PRESS this issue EVEN MORE. WindowBlinds is the reason I am her first and foremost...I read the replies and people Need it, wants it, Loves it. -It should be even more improved. So what if people with HD screens bla bla... Improve WB so it meets the demand instead of hinting it's gonna go. -I am sure no matter what has been said in the past about WB VS Win 10 is a struggle... Then Fight !! Make it the best goddamn Desktop designer piece of software ever and that's it. "If you build it they will come"
I use Start10, Fence and Groupy and use them all the time at home. If I could use Groupy or Fence at work I would be in heaven.
I would like to use DeskScapes more since their are some really awesome Dreams on Wincustomize but since I use a 4K monitor it get very blurry and breake the awesomeness of animated background.
As for WindowBlinds, I do not know how far you can hack into windows for modding all aspect the Win10 UI. Again, on Wincustomize their are very nice themes that I would like to use but not every part of windows get modded. And sadly, not every applications likes to be themed. But would be sad to see this application disappear.
Mr. Wardell, I've been a massive fan of windowblinds for almost 2 decades, long before one of my favorite games of all time was released. You may know this one, Demigod. I'm beyond stoked that Demigod 2 is under development. I run (2) 38" high res monitors, i mention this because i will be able to run DG2 next to HL3 at the same time. Bad jokes aside, owning a design firm leaves little time for gaming. In our industry, the proper gear and tools directly relates to productivity.
Our workstations, servers, field tablets / pcs are simply put: Sick as Fuck sir. Don't take my word for it, see below for a screen of my desktop. I do a lot of screenshare meetings with clients, and they would be far less impressed if the screen was covered in Hugh Hefners finest work and Hugh has done some fine work and im sure we can all agree. However the clients are more impressed with Adni, lightstar, Neone, redneck bro, Dave, Vamp, Az's daily dreams, Vstyler, Aroche, AVbro, tree and so many more. Most people have no idea that windows can look this good.
At our company, all of us work many hours, enough that if i mentioned the number no one here would believe me. Customizing our workstations, from key switches, to dock icons and being able to regularly swap out our windowblinds skin is important to us. We all run windowblinds, cursorfx, fences, windowfx and deskscapes. We all run a dock program, most run stardocks (bad pun), but for now im using winstep xtreme. Groupy is hit or miss with some things so qttabar does what i need it to do. Having an updated icon packager, is more important now more than ever. I know this may sound goofy, but of course our phones are just as customized. Being able to use icon packs between android / ico / png for windows etc would be great however the current workflow process is tedious. Having granular control of batch processing / recoloring and other customization would be awesome (i know batch processing is available, just limited). Think iconpack studio for android.
And sure, DX got wrecked by our friends at Microsoft, but there is rainmeter for a solid replacement. Im not aware of a good replacement for windowblinds. Sure we can do window themes but thats a bigger PITA than i have time for.
So here's my wishlist:
1. Demigod 2.
2. Offer package purchases on wincustomize (only because its so hard to just buy a couple of skins) and maybe offer a higher tiered subscription to wincustomize or something.
3. Let me know how i can help make sure my grandkids have windowblinds in the future.
4. Easier customization and a noob friendly skin editor.
5. Cross platform - android development
Anyways, thanks and i hope Windowblinds keeps on keepin on. I'll go back to lurking now.

Thanks for the kind mention Jason (Father Jon).
Hey, lets see that desktop screenshot you mentioned!
I still use ObjectDock on Windows 10. I would love for there to be an updated ObjectDock that is officially supported in Windows 10. I'd pay $20 for it easily if a new version was released.
Please don't kill Windowblinds. I can't imagine using an OS without it.
I truly do understand market (customer demand). I also appreciate your most recent e-mail and this opportunity to share these thoughts. I was sad when WindowBlinds basically became obsolete. I really enjoyed it. I am still using IconPackager because I still like the traditional desktop with its icons. Which means I will miss ObjectDock when it also fades away. I am still using CursorFX Plus, Start10 and now Groupy. I like the idea of making my computer “personal” with customizing. I am still “peeved” with Firefox for “taking away” my ability to personalize my browser. Yes, browsers are terribly boring. Thanks for the many years of computer fun. Thanks for this opportunity to share. By the way I am 65 years old and I still like my mouse (touch screens drive me nuts).
Thanks again Borikk (turning into an old geezer hating change)
I want ObjectDock!
I utilize WindowsBlinds and IconPackager. For me, they are the reason I have Object Desktop; them and Fences. Obviously it's important to see development and creation of things that will help us have even more customizable desktops, but let's not lose the plot here. Some of these programs might not be as strongly utilized as they were in the past due to reasons like have been listed in other people's comments. Some of these enhancements, and others might be the thing that brings people back into heavier participation in the community. I'm all for seeing development of new products, but please don't start to ignore the programs I mentioned.
I wouldn't support anything TSF does in any shape or form. EVER!
Anymore the only Stardock items I use are Groupy and Start 10.
For Docking I use Winstep. I always felt that it was superior to Object Dock.
Icon Packager has been an absolute nightmare to me in the past and caused far too much damage when uninstalling it. I gave up.
Windowblinds, honestly has not been enjoyable at all since Win7 left. I've used it many times and always revert back to the default Windows theme due to some parts just seeming out of place since they can't be skinned anymore.
Well, I don't buy from them, I did over a decade ago, but nothing since. I just don't wan't to see Windowblinds disappear and am trying any way to keep it alive.
Fences and Groupy are my favorites.
I would like to see Fences be able to overlap pre-existing windows.
Maybe a few White backgrounds. for the most part things are skinned. Just need to add oldnewexplorer. Take away Windowblinds and this place would get very little traffic. Anyone just take a look and see what downloads are keeping it going.
Here is a SS of my Win10. Looks great to me and I can live with a White background here and there. Lot better then that ugly Win10 crap.
Hear hear!
Negative... I'm not going to install an app that I have zero desire for. I like the way my explorer functions just fine.
If Windowblinds can't keep up with MS Changes (regardless of fault) and hardware advancements then, it makes no sense to keep it up. DesktopX became more of a burden to keep working than it was worth too.
