Hi,
a quick search hasn't turned up something like this. So I am curious, what are your favorite tech trees and why? I'll go ahead and give a few assessments of my own:
Favorite:
The Thalan techtree just kind of has everything I want. A very convenient tech branch (early hyperion->cloisters), production improvements that boost newly founded colonies where it matters, and the various techs that boost the Thalan ships. (Though I have to admit, I love the Iconian fleet techs, too)
Interesting:
I think the Torian and Arcean tech trees are very interesting, with very bold components such as singularity pp in age of war for the arceans or the bad tech branch (no capital, late cloisters) of the Torians which seems designed to to be played with a population focus (better farms and moral buildings that give adjacency to everything).
Interesting but lacking:
The Snathi tech tree is even more bold then the Arcean and Torian ones, but the lack of targetting scanners leaves it too wide open to jamming stacks. This is fine against the AI which neither reacts with jamming or targetting, but for multiplayer the Snathi would be a no go for me because of this.
Thalan is a perfect fit for my develop quickly and powerfully style that I much prefer for 4x games.
Are we sure the torians not having a capital is not a bug. A nice tech tree fix to equal the thslans for the others is to give power plants a bonus to raw production not total manufacturing to the power plants. Except maybe the drengins. The iconians need no help. I think the power matrix is broken with the yor by not giving adjancency bonuses both ways it hinders not help specialization. Making it only effective if built on a island because of the one way hinderance on specialization. The yor does need a equivalent boost to social production to make up for its loss of population growth so the assembling yor is not a hinderance.
I am currently giving the synthetic play style a second chance and them having no capitals at all i spuzzling me more, because the way I read that style, it is supposed to be centered around one or a few colonies at the start and then invasions instead of big colony rush. But at this point I had little exposure, so don't read too much into it
I used to only play the Terran Balanced.
Now I only play with the Thalan Tree.
I want a return of Ideology based tech branches that start HALFWAY in the Age of WAR and go through to Ascension.

Oddly though the neutral line didnt really have great offensive or defensive techs...(from GCII).
