its been awhile and many of us us would really like to hear the agenda and how things are going
When Stellaris drops, will GalCiv 3 still be relevant?
I am only sort of kidding.
Not sure what Stellaris is, Ill take a look. But seriously are there <any> 4x games that are native 64 bit? Any? Gal Civ III has the benefit of its custom engine which will only get better with time.
As for a Stream it would be nice but I'd love to hear Paul talk about whats coming up in 6 to 9 months.....(hint).
Stellaris looks pretty cool, but I'll wait for the reviews...and then a Steam sale.
I was going to pre order Stellaris, but I found out it's only 32 bit and still DirectX 9.0c. Big mistake by the devs. I will wait for a sale. One thing that annoys me is pre orders get exclusive races.
Paradox seems to love DLC. I certainly hope Stellaris isn't plague by $200 DLCs. I'm looking at Europa Universalis IV on Steam now for $39.99 and 41 of the DLC are $220.60! Total of $260.59 for a game. This must be the most expensive game with the most DLCs. And people complained about a Japanese/Chinese import game ROT3K 13 costing $89.99 on Steam.
All 32 bit games I've played suffers a big performance hit or crashes once it uses around 1.5 GB of memory. I believe Stellaris will be no different.
Gal Civ 3 Roadmap: The roadmap hasn't been updated in a long time.
Europa Universalis IV - Used to suffer with mega slowdowns late game, even on high spec machines. I have not played it since republic DLC an thats a few years ago now.
Stellaris looks pretty decent, sad to here its only 32 bit thou....in this day and age..
I posted on reddit if it was 32 or 64 bit and this is the answer I got over there. .....

Just curious. I am interested in Stellaris but Ill never buy another 32 bit 4x game again. Is there a specs page or hardware req page somewhere?
Thanks much!

The Clausewitz Engine (which it uses) supports 64 bit now. The recommended specs on the Steam page also suggest a 64 bit OS.

wait it didn't support it before?
That's great news!
I'll have to see if there's any plans for upcoming streams.
Thx for the warning about Stellaris. I almost bought it but realized that it is real time. OK pausable realtime but that is still RTS to me. With your 32 bit and DX 9 warnings I think I will wait for a big sale if ever.
So your telling me that if I go to Steam today and want the complete EU IV game it will cost me $260 bucks to get all the DLC's included?!? OMG and thank God that Stardock has their founders program so I get everything for ever for $100 down.

Larsenex posted above that Stellaris "supports 64 bit now". Key word here is "supports" maybe the game has two different two exe files? 32 bit exe and 64 bit exe. Lack of foresight by the devs to go native 64 bit only and DirectX 10/11.
I will wait till release and ask around if people have performance issues. I read in the Steam forums someone posted a picture of a 5000? big star system map.
