Getting bug reports from the community is a HUGE help to development. With that in mind, here’s a list of some of the big ones we know about, things we could use help tracking down, and features that are just yet-to-be-implemented.The most useful thing for us (and often the hardest part) is getting clear, simple steps to reproduce a bug. Screenshots and video are great helps too.Let us know what you find!

MGPU Issues
If you are having issues with crashing when using MGPU and can't get back into the game, delete the settings.ini file located in your Ashes of the Singularity folder under your My Games directory.

I think the game needs more endgame stuff. It feels like there's supposed to be one more level above dreadnoughts, or at least some alternative strategies besides adjusting the stream of armies. At the moment a bombing run is about the only card people can play.
Had a similar problem. Turns out, the northbridge was overheating from not receiving air from the stock fan now that i'm Watercooled... Rigged a small 60mm Fan with tie-wraps aimed at it and the crash problem is since long gone! Didn't knew chipsets were overheating that much... Mine is a X58 BTW!
This is a great suggestion. The core gameplay needs something compelling to keep the endings exciting. It becomes a 'chore' to clean up.
Coming to a dlc near you!
Yep, VR & northbridge need cooling on many X58s. I'm running an i7-920 at 3.6Ghz with a monolithically huge air cooler, a 20mm top-vent case fan, a 40mm fan on the northbridge and a slot-mounted case fan (used an old networking adapter LOL) to blow air across the VR. Been running solid since 2009. I've just upgraded memory and GPU over the years - and cleaned the case & fans a few times!
Hi. I am running ashes on a laptop with a GTX 970M, 8GB RAM and a i7-4720HQ cpu @ 2.6GHz. When playing the ascendancy wars mission "Deneb - a new enemy", I notice that as soon as I encounter the first objective the game's frame rate drops significantly to the point of un-playability. It appears to be somehow related to a change in the way that the objective and selection circles are displayed, where they are sometimes displaying as pixelated rather than smooth. I also noticed that when I moved the camera back to the bottom right of the map (away from the pixelated objective circles) that the frame rate picked back up. I can't see how to attach an image unfortunately.
I have never encountered this error in any of the other games of Ashes that I have played.
Cheers
I'm guessing here, but it's an educated guess, that you're overheating. When your laptop overheats it pulls the CPU and GPU processing way down to protect them. I would do some search engine work looking for threads on your laptop model and overheating and find some suggestions. And make sure all your drivers and software is up to date for your laptop and your GPU.
First, find some instructions for cleaning your cooling fans, etc. These will involve compressed air and removing a panel or two, I'd imagine.
Second, and more important, look into temperature-based or processor usage-based fan control. That may be tied to power control options, found in Control Panel. Otherwise, it could be in the BIOS. For gaming, set your laptop up for heavy-duty use. That means that the CPU won't throttle down (unless it gets critically hot) and the fans are on top speed. Hopefully it can be controlled (in BIOS or Control Panel or such) so that it's not at 100% CPU and fan all the time in that mode.
I've fought this problem on an older "gaming" laptop and these kinds of settings were readily discussed in forums. We also eventually used a dock that had a fan on it for best results. The dock was a minor hassle so, many months later, it's not being used anymore. Just the fan settings and regular cleaning.
Good luck!
I loaded the same map again with no issues this time - after running ashes for 45 min I'm only running a temperature of ~60 degrees so I don't really think it was due to overheating. Anyway, its working now and I'll keep an eye on the temps - especially if it happens again.
Odd. Good luck!
