So we all think that Sins is an amazing game. We'd like Sins 2. Post here if you want it.
All of you saying "Give me Sins 2" without any ideas of what would be included in that is fairly useless. I don't want a Sins 2 for the sake of a Sins 2, I want a SIns 2 becuase I want new options and features not in Sins today.
Some ideas:
* different jump schemes (not just jump lanes between certain systems)
* Ship designers (a small scale ver of GalCiv III's)
* Massive new factions, with completely different abailties, research, etc
Question is:
Is the new DLC and Patch a by-product of the work on Sins 2 or not? [e digicons]:grin:[/e]

Because of you i whas more thinking lately of why not create you'r own faction like more and more games (example "Space empire V"}
I know its a old game but i mean you create a own specie by choices you get.
Also create you'r own tech tree, where you can choose before the game starts with way you wanna go and then you play the second tech buttons free till you create another new factory number 3 (you get the same question), and you get all other tech's under line 3.
With this you can create you'r own path, i think its more massive and a great idea.
These organic self replicating ships mostly get their energy literally from energy -mostly from the sun - so efficient is the absorption of energy that all energy scans are absorbed and not reflected back , rendering them invisible- Later in the game however there is one type of energy that is deadly to them and from it weapons and scans will be developed by the surviving allies--But out in the blackness of space where light energy is scarce they will need to replenish lost energy after a battle so they will act like T lymphocyte white blood cells-enveloping the half broken ship and absorb the organic units and energy within it's derelict carcass-when enough "LARGE" organic super juggernaut death ships are made they will form an organic Dyson sphere around the nearest star-WHEN THAT HAPPENS ALL LIGHT IS EXTINGUISHED WITHIN THAT SOLAR SYSTEM- THESE ORGANIC UNITS FORMING A DYSON SPHERE THEN TRANSMITS THE ENERGY THROUGH A SORT OF QUANTUUM ENTANGLEMENT CONNECTION ENERGISING ALL OTHER SHIPS THAT ARE NOT LINKED AS A DYSON SPHERE - BACK IN VASARI SPACE THE DYSON SPHERES CREATED CREATES EMPTY BLACK SPACE , NO LIGHT-NOTHING THAT REPRESENTS LIFE EXISTS THERE -ANYTHING THAT ENTERS THAT REGION OF SPACE DOES NOT COME BACK OUT AND ON THE VERGES OF VASARI SPACE ONE BY ONE THE EACH SUN'S RESPECTIVE LIGHT WINKS OUT , EXTINGUISHING ANY BEACON LIGHT OF HOPE WITH IT

it should start with a cinematic image of vasari space as a great black stain silhouetted against the light of other galaxies-as the camera zooms in closer you can see other star's light on the periphery of vasari space winking out one by one-the narrator briefly mentions that no one knows for now why all the star's lights blinks out one by one because anything that goes in does not come back out to tell the tale-The camera then pans in closer to one of the stars extinguishing and as it does so a huge black swarm can be seen silhouetted against the dying light as it leaves that galaxy for another-the camera then pans a full 180 degrees towards our galaxy and races close to the outer edges of our space-close enough to see another star-here the narrator explains that we are more fortunate than other galaxies because only a small force have arrived here-the huge capitol ships following the smaller scout ships as they get nearer to what's clearly a planet with huge megalopolises populating it's surface-the picture fades to reveal the aftermath and the narrator explains that the huge capitol ships have linked together to partly form a dyson sphere-until it's complete it will remain inert -the other small scout ships start replicating-dividing like cell mitosis---A small vessel with telepaths on a ship far away are able to see what's happening , they can hear the alien's organic communal hypnotic song of communications and quickly realises that if the dyson sphere is completed all life in the galaxy will be lost because the energies that will permeate out to others through a sort of quantum entanglement connection will enable the "instantaneous cell mitosis replication -geometrically reproducing until the various enemies they have will become over run by sheer weight of numbers-the telepaths sends this message to their kind who then decides to come out of hiding to warn the other races of their almost certain doom!!

the smaller ships( organic scout ships i mentioned) can replicate but in order to produce an higher tier ship it has to replicate enough ships so the hive mind is able to "calculate" the structural re-organising of the cells -when the hive mind has enough numbered scout ships the neural connections through quantum entanglement connections increases (making it smart enough-equivalent to a quantum computer for necessary DNA reorganised calculations) ,allowing for 4 ships to mould together-during this phase it's vulnerable and the other scout ships form a protective barrier of ships around these coalescing ships -When the 4 ships have coalesced together it forms a sort of protective cocoon as the ships rearrange it's cells to metamorphoses into a larger tier ship-For these organic ships to reach an higher tiered ship it will need that "EXCLUSIVE" higher tiered ship of 4 or whatever set number to coalesce into the next higher tire ship for the game to progress for the organic faction -The scout ships and some of the higher (mid level) tier ships do not have the ability to create "seeds" for invasion since they are a "kind of juvenile phased organic unit" and so it will only be the bigger "adult" tier ships that have the right "mutation gene addon" to have this ability of firing "seeds" on to a planet surface as described in earlier posts
also have the ability to capture live organic ships for study in an alien containment-For instance if you capture the biggest ship that has the ability to fire "seeds" for invasion you could retro that discovery to create 100% earth DNA seeds of flora to instantly repopulate a world made barren by the organic ships-ALSO adding their DNA ability to absorb sun's energy or any energy and store it would allow the bio luminescent flora (covering the new colony for lighting) would solve the energy problem for colonies and ships--However due to the pressures of bureaucracy the scientists makes a mistake and the DNA for harnessing energy and storing it gets passed through the food chain to create a new variant of human colonists -some with frightening abilities-This creates a sort racist reaction by many other humans who fear or don 't understand them causing a rift and a new faction to be born in the next game
you see "UNLIKE THE NORMAL FOOD CHAIN" in which "DNA IS NOT PASSED ON TO THE PERSON WHOSE EATING IT"-This version contains hidden in that DNA ability to store energy the ability to pass it on to another organic( a sort of fail safe "IF" 99.999999% of alien ship is destroyed with only the DNA of storing energy from another completely different smaller class ship available to harvest that ability which has remnants of THAT DNA floating in space that the other ship can detect and harvest)

Figure with the Nitrous engine they used to make Star Control, an engine DESIGNED for modern and massive RTSes, the barebones are already in place. It's just a matter of adapting the SINS universe's gameplay and mechanics to what the engine is capable of.
I'd love to see selective planetary bombardment and surface to orbit weapons on planets, like in Imperium Galactica 2. Some screenshots of what I mean.

Now that Avengers: Endgame has reached us, Sins2 is the next big thing I'm looking forward to.
I don't think Sins needs to be topped. I agree that bloating your team isn't the answer. I hope you're going more with slow build development when you have the time and have put enough concentrated thought and creativity into the design. There seems to be a MMO creativity cold war of sorts as many largely anticipated titles are coordinating a huge hype cycle yet not fully delivering. I see a lot of companies holding back and not wanting to release their prized works into this immediate market, looking to ride it out and into what's forecasted next.
Any insight into this forecast would be great conversation, especially on this thread.
the success of the game does depend on risk-the greater the risk , the greater the reward-or failure . if your team hasn't changed from your last significant success and your confident in it's making ,then by all means go for it . surprise the player like you would a reader with surprise plot lines mentioned above. good luck!!!!

try advertising the product with the emphasis of "X-COM LIKE ELEMENTS" by not mentioning x-com but rather showing the mechanics of research in the spoils(booty) of a battle OR MANAGING TO CAPTURE OR SALVAGE ARTIFACTS "DURING THE BATTLE" BEFORE RETREAT!!
