Jim and I are working hard on the new UI. You can try out the new version in single player by going to options->game and clicking the new UI checkbox. You can only use it in single player.
Please let us know what you like and don't like and what you'd like to see in the future. Our plan is to make the new UI the default in Beta 7 and remove the old version in Beta 8, so please let us know your "we have to have X" as soon as possible.

You still cannot buy back your own shares on the new UI, as far as I can tell.
Beta 7 feedback:When shift clicking to auto send launches it's very glitchy Tried multiple times to cancel launches that were shift clicked by right clicking. Sometimes it would cancel it and it would just randomly reappear again. Sometimes it would suddenly disappear and then queue a launch in a resource I didn't ask it to. Sometimes it would queue 2 in a resource i didn't ask it to. I could never cancel all launches if i wanted to stop shipping offworld. One would always reappear no matter what i did.
Also i've never had any performance issues before but beta 7 was incredibly laggy every time i built a new building or someone expanded. Almost unplayably laggy.
If majority buyout is the default in beta 7 (which i think it is but i'm not sure) then i owned 6 shares in a company and it did not award me possession. I had to completely buy them out. At one point I saw the red button to buy the 6th share and it just made me buy a regular share when i clicked it. After that i never got control until I bought out everyone else's shares.I like the new pointer for placing black market items with one exception. It's incredibly useful for everything except for placing pirates. Please bring back the old "shadow ring" or something like that for pirates so you can see where they are going to be placed. Since this map is somewhat 3D it's difficult to see if you placed pirates in the path of the right resource. It's particularly difficult if someone is shipping 2 resources side by side and you want to try and pick off only one of them.
Also it can be a little harder to short or surplus power because the special buildings tabs at the top can overlap it. Something I mentioned earlier but figured I'd repeat again. It would be nice to have a little countdown timer at the top to see how long it is until your offworld launches. That way you can make critical decisions as to whether to scrap the launch or not if you're in danger of being bought out.
In B7 when an offworld is destroyed it only gives you a button that says "repair offworld." It no longer tells you what/how many resources are required or how much it will cost to repair it. Sometimes it's not advantageous to repair an offworld immediately based on prices or imminent buyout. Would be nice to see this get fixed quickly as it is important information to know.
Also there's still a persistent bug which won't let you cancel offworld shipments. When you cancel the shipment it respawns automatically.

Please go through and give your feedback on things that are broken and things that are bugging the crud out of you. We're looking to release in the next few weeks, so our ability to fix things will be limited, but I want to make sure that we catch any major things before we make this the next version.

Thanks for your encouragement, feel free whenever to point out when my feedback is going off-topic. Here are some additional things that might be of interest. While on 0.7.9223 I found:Missing popup for "spawnprotected" resources while in claim-modeWhen you hover over a resource that is "spawn-protected" by a player recently dropping his HQ next to it, while in "build-mode" (trying to place a structure on it), a popup appears that shows the remaining time of the spawnprotection, if you enter "claim-mode" however the popup does not appear and requires you to exit claim-mode again to check how much time is remaining before you can claim it.
BUG: Slide-notifications get stuck when you enter the ingame-menu while they are shownThis took me a while to figure out but every slide-notification gets stuck when you (at least via ESC) enter the ingame menu while they are shown, when you resume from it, the notification will do a small slide-in animation again and then remain there forever. - New notifications will not appear and replace it. I'm well aware that there are downsides to this (e.g. requiring a bigger text-length), but I wanted to make sure the consideration is out there. Maybe it would even be worth an ingame option.
I've edited my last post repeatedly and found the reason for why the slide-notifications are getting stuck, please take note of that if you haven't already.Further let me add these two points just to make sure:

This was a great find. Got the fix in beta 7. (Not a great fix, but it won't be stuck.)
