It’s so good they skipped Windows 9 altogether!
Windows 10 Preview will be available tomorrow.

I have a feeling that for many/most of those who feel MS 'needs to restore their image' even that wouldn't have any effect on same. Some people just love to hate.....and who better to hate in the world of OS and productivity software than MS? [e digicons]O:)[/e]
<reminds self to uncheck that fucking SUBSCRIBE TO THIS POST check box>
Annoying isn't it...
I think I would have to agree that Windows 10 won't be free but I also feel that just like when Windows 8 was released that there will be a short amount of time (window) that the user will be able to upgrade for a very reasonable rate.
Although, just like everyone else here, I could be wrong. [e digicons]:-"[/e]

As targets go they're fun....
Apple is just too easy...
the number of consumers that buy an os is insignificant. most people just stick to whatever came with their computer.
so they could easily release it for free to have at least a little adoption. releasing it for free would also create more hype in the press.

Yeah, and the new iPhone ad on TV prompts immediate aversion to Apple products. Every time it comes on I immediately think of Kevin Bloody Wilson's song: "Hey Operator".... and its famous line, which [for non-Aussies] goes something like this: "Stick that f**king iPhone up yer f**king arse...."
Okay, so I added the i bit to phone, but no wucking furries, it don't miss a beat. Also: warning, link leads to song with frequent use of the f-word, so if you're easily offended don't go there.

Anyhow, back to Windows 10 and why I've not had a dabble with it yet. Being that my current accommodation is just temporary I figured it's probably not worth setting up my desktop rigs here. I'm currently using Shaunna's laptop because I can't find the charger for my little 11" touch screen one, which is flat as a tack but has ample space on a second partition for Win 10 when I find the adapter [in one of the many boxes].
Oh, and as for the haters, they'd be the first ones to bitch about them no longer being there if MS suddenly shut up shop and called it a day.
It's like how the old saying goes, you just can't please some people... and if they read/hear something is crap there's no turning them around.
Installed win 8.1, got all of the updates then installed classicshell...
Now I have Win 7 turbo+. Boots much faster, runs much faster, and although I don't know if games run faster, they certainly look much better. The graphics in games now seem more HD and crisper.
I might not end up with win 10 for free, but I'm sure they will give out free upgrades, otherwise there would be riots in the streets.
Windows 10: David Tennant Edition.
I have a hair appointment today. I am going to have a Joe Belfiore in pink.
Windows 10 starkers Edition: a fully featured OS that can be naked when you need it to be.
Okay, just be sure you cover it with a tatty hat to prevent serious injuries/illnesses.
Pink hair in public is not only tasteless but downright dangerous... tatty hat coverage should be legally required/mandatory....
... for females AND males.

But I have only known hats from being a wee Tatty. The other stuff scratch's.
I've changed my mind I am going to have it in racing car red.
Do the do in charcoal grey with red pin stripes. [e digicons]XD[/e]
Does it suit me? It took a whole six and a half minutes to dry.
Ha! I do look a bit like Joe.
Hehe, I have a grey hair or two I might recolour.. think I might go with a light blue or purple. [e digicons]O:)[/e]
Before you decide to download the preview you might want to check this out------ http://www.techworm.net/2014/10/microsofts-windows-10-permission-watch-every-move.html

Makes for an interesting read methinks.
Of course, what would a discussion surrounding the release another/new potential OS be without a few tinfoil hats? [e digicons]O:)[/e]
In any case, we are talking about data that always was/is available for most anyone to access including but not limited to one's ISP, makers of any/all third-party software/apps etc. As far as our data is concerned; If it has been digitized it is available and having access to such information can help software engineers better their products.
Since they all do it, all MS seems to be 'guilty of' is being a tad more obvious about their 'data collection/inspection' methods/intentions than some others......
they did warn you not to use it as your every day machine....
Not on mine. I still run 7.
The video suggests it is touch enabled. Yep ! Sounds good to me. [e digicons][/e]
windows 10 bluedxca93 : getted somehow from somewhere without using the internet, two years too after its publishedm, with virtualbox and newest version of abby fine reader. Shell dropped. CMD.exe and dosbox reinstalled.
Can see it already today .....
A tip: if you want to buy windows, buy a new pc and you`ll get weindows for nearly nothing with it installed withoput that you can do anything against it.
Hope that w10 will have a stable kernel and will be fast with good hardware driver supportt and that it will be stable and fast ( unlike win 7 ( but 7 was already the best system from ms ive seen and its not bad but also not really good. Not good but also not bad like linux too ))
regards bluedxca93
Nothing 'tinfoil' about being informed, the_Monk. After all, you've been the champion of just that the whole time I've been around here.
And don't stop, as I for one am grateful for your contributions. [e digicons][/e]
You are correct. I may have been a bit misintentioned in my response post! [e digicons][/e]
