EDIT: I've now made these so anyone can download them and look at them locally. The files are here. Just unzip the folder and run index.html.
I FINALLY finished the research trees image maps with tooltips. I really don't want to say how many hours I spent on it...
Anyway, it's a bit rough right now, but wanted to get it up to start with. I tested it on my Android tablet and it looked good, but am unsure about an iPad (should work).
It's on a decent host and on a CDN, so should be pretty fast. However, once you look at a tooltip once and cache it, it should be instantaneous.
More to come!
hey, that's pretty cool.
May I suggest a bit of a border on the left. Most sites now a days stick to a 1024 wide center element.
Indeed the research trees are cool. Do you know what look and feel you're going for the finished site? I made a website for my mod as part of a class (though I don't really use it), if you want to borrow my style sheets or background textures go for it.
Awesome job!
Did you consider working for the Wiki?
Woa!!! That is awesome!
I would also suggest a 'Current Version X.XXX' value stated somewhere on the main page to correspond with which version of the game.
I love the way the tool-tips work. That's phenomenal!
It's only got a handful of CSS right now that isn't default. I will make it a lot better over time and add other things to the site as well.
@ARESIV - Actually, I was considering implementing a better wiki on my site. Wikia is OK, but I'm not a fan of mass advertising.
@boshimi336 - Yes, a representative version would be good, although I only plan on having the latest version displayed.

I also eventually want to move it to being database driven. Right now it's created by cropping lots of images from the game, which is why it was so painful to make... I must have edited around 500 images or more.
Thanks for the compliments.
This website is amazing. I simply love it. The thought that it will only get better makes me so happy that I had to give you some karma.
Keep up the good work, slowreflex. And you have my thanks for your awesomeness.
Due to some personal reasons, I've decided to give up web development for now (on all projects). I will provide the website files to anyone that wants them (I would attach them, but they are 30MB zipped). Also, if there is someone who is serious about taking the site over and evolving it then PM me. Failing that, I will donate soase.com to Stardock or Ironclad.
um ya...
how much space and what's the cost? http://soase.x90x.net is free with some limitations. Is it worth the move?
I already have a small group of 3 people that can moderate
I have it on the Basic plan here. It's only $12/qtr. I've already paid for three months up-front. It's a very good host, but you could always move it if you wanted. The key is to have the domain name, because in terms of SEO, it is very good as you can imagine.
ugg, to much for a site that's not for my product. I will deal with the x90x.net. Only the very odd person I know of is blocked from accessing, last one was in a hotel. But the school and library had no problem.
But if you want I will host your work so it don't ever get lost. That's some nice work for the researches.
FYI- I've put this back online and will be fixing any changes in the very near future (and adding more useful resources). It's here temporarily until I finish setting up the proper site for it.
EDIT: Removed link as it's now downloadable (see OP) so no need to host it.
Awesome!

Please let me know if there are any issues with the files.
Enjoy!
P.S. - It's 20MB, that's as small as I could get it since it involves hundreds of images.
P.S.2. - Feel free to use this on your own websites, guides, etc. It's all for the good of the community.
