So, the game has been out for almost a year now, and no one has publicly said exactly what's chasing the Vasari.
Supposedly, we were to figure it out the same day the game came out, according to an interview long long ago.
So my question is, why the hell haven't we hard anything?
IT IS ME.
Dylan Hunt and Tear Anasazi.
What if it was just one pursuer? A lab experiment gone awry? An ultimately powerful physic being, able to destroy planets and control trillions of people with ease? A nearly immortal vengeful creation, bent on destroying all Vasari, and freeing their slaves, traveling with the mind-controlled Dark Fleet? The living embodiment of dominance, a billion times more powerful than all the Advent combined? Coming this way?
Phase Demons sound fairly explainable. I mean all the races have been tearing the fabric of space and invading another dimension all in the name of progress...
That's my favorite explanation too, sadly most people want it to me nanobots for some reason.
Not me, would be very lame, almost any sci-fi series have them as bad guys.. But true they could be very different from the original 3 races..
phase demons? lol what kind of ships would they have lol a flying skull??
- how about more classic: an antient race older and more powerful then the vasari
They (Vasari) are already an ancient and more powerful race than the youth of the galaxy.. (TEC and Advent), it would be funny to have another one even more ancient
I think it would be more along the lines of organic spacecraft. Such as massive whale esque ships.
I would rather they have a few giant, imposing ships than swarms of teeny tiny ones. Just my opinion here.
I nominate this bad boy, alas, IskatuMesk will have a fit. This is truly a nightmare ship that comes out of a gas cloud and vaporizes everything in it's path before disappearing again...
Shivans. Gotta be.Makes sense, if you follow the canon on Blue Planet: Age of Aquarius and the cut scenes in Freespace. The Shivans are the great destroyers/preservers. They bring balance. Vasari are war like, aggressive (look what they did to Terran space).
Totally Shivans. >.>;
There is also the culture thing. The Vasari experiment might have been about exposing dissidents to phase space and phase space interruptors technology. The result was a phase spacing hyper variant of Justin Bieber. He/it made the crews insane and the hyper rabid fans that he made possible gnawed on the ships until the point where they were so damaged that they fell apart.
More seriously. I think it would be interesting if the great pursuer isn't a physical menace and instead a culture based one. A bit strange there haven't been any theories about this because culture is an important part of Sins.
Culture is only really important when using the Advent from what I have found out. But that's somewhat unrelated.
Maybe phase-space inversions? It may be possible that some strange experiment tore the very fabric of reality...
But this is all just speculation.
You need something that has ships.. Or big "living" creaturesacting like ships to be able to put them into the 4th race.
Why does it have to be a race?
I think developers want this misterious thing to be the 4th race in Sins of a Solar Empire 2.. So it must have ship-like things.
advanced Orky Drones
Clearly the borg! They would make great use of all those slaves!
Orky Planets, Advanced Orky drones, Mini Orky drones and nano orky bots.
^ easy there champ
Whatever is chasing the Vasari, I'm sure it does some form of chaining damage....
It's obviously the Muse.
Well I reckon from the fact that the Vasari are running from whatever enemy destroyed their empire, and forced the remainder of their species to up and flee for however many hundreds or thousands of years they have been running for now. I also reckon that war isn't over at all, that we play as the vanguard/main fleet of the Vasari, and the dark fleet that gets mentioned so often, supposedly the remnants of their old war fleet, isn't as scattered as the game makes out. What I like to think is that the dark fleet is their rear guard, and still fighting/delaying their ancient enemy to give the main fleet time to gather supplies before resuming the flight. Anyways, that is more just based on my own thoughts on the back story.
I think that whatever is chasing the Vasari, is the fourth faction of the game (ignoring pirates) and that if/when Sins gets a proper sequel, or maybe even the next expansion pack, from how the start cut scene of Rebellion so directly mentions the impending arrival of their enemy, that this will be the main theme. That the threat has arrived. Why I think it'll be a fourth faction? Just a feeling. And if it is a fourth faction, I think it will be robots. Either that, or some spiritual sort of entity. Lol we have techno aliens, trady humans and magical meta humans, so robots feels like it would fit
Though all of that is speculation and opinion. I do believe it will be explained in the next game/expansion though, so you'll have a solid answer in a year or two. maybe three. Lol
Its the TAV. TEC Advent Vasari kingdom from the future coming to make sure events happen as planned.
