Miyaqueen who's steam id is HelloMiya refused to leave a game after his whole team left. It was me and one other player and i literally tried hunting him down but could not find the one damn ship he hid anywhere. Players like this ruin the fun in the game for me.
Feel free to post other people who do the same and form a sort of blacklist of players.
Cheers
If only there were some.... societal standards post stickied somewhere. That would be super.
Miya had only one ship (im guessing could be more with it) and no planets left it was obvious that she should have left. She was just hiding the ship(s) hoping we would leave or something. we weren't able to find it after searching the whole system. We were playing on huge single comp so it was really annoying because we figured it had been hidden with an ai that was continuing for the enemy team. For those of you that disagree the societal standards for mp pinned at the top recommend you leave after your last "grand stand" when you use the last of your ships.
I'm actually quite concerned with Miya for a different reason. Do you say her name "Maya" or "Meeya"? I can't sleep until I figure this out.
I don't run away and try to drag things out, on the contrary I group my remaining few ships and fight to the last one. I like to put up one final fight, not send my opponents on a merry chase around the galaxy. I'm not going to quit just because the odds are against me, I'll make my last stand and BRING the end faster by scuttling all but one planet, and mass the fleet at that one planet for my last stand.
This last final big battle is OK, but you should hurry to do that if there is really no chance for you to win, like not to prepare for this for an hour or so after all your teammates left. The problem is when the player sits there without answering messages, or isn't even there and hiding ships in random places prolonging the game for too long time.
turtleundefeated , always goes afk on losing game. This is the 4th time i've seen it myself and i'll post replay if needed for proof.
Is that the troll who scout spams?
Yeah, he tried that scout spam on me this weekend. My fighters decimated them. But Seleuceia, this time he led with a Radiance not a Rapture, and he quit when he was beat.
We also had a game with Cbloom where he refused to quit, and was blatant about it. Said we wouldn't remember him, like he does it all the time. I never forget.
That's the dude...rapture lead with scout spam...
Radiance ain't a bad change for him....I prefer radiance lead over prog, MB is just too damn common now...
Wait a second, you trying to form a blacklist of people who won't quit. F*&k You buddy. You want that win, you have to earn it.
What the hell is wrong with this generation, I'm supposed to quit because you feel like your time is being wasted. Well I'm sorry, I'm keeping you from your important tasks, let me just lay down my army in front of you, Why bother playing.
Screw that, this just goes to show that this generation is EXACTLY the negative terms that people accuse you of being, Entitled, Complacent, lazy.
In Starcraft, you would get black listed if you DIDN'T fight to the last man. As far as I'm concerned if I still have one ship, one planet, one Iota of anything, you haven't defeated me. It isn't about coming close, it's about finishing the job.
And by the way, if my team quits and I stay, you should black list THEM for quitting, it's unsportsmanlike, but of course those people quit, WHY, because they don't want to fight and uphill battle and make a come back, it's just easier to quit.
Always ever ready to quit, and I can't stand it, There have been some games, that I was told over chat "Just quit, you've lost, Just quit already." and what happened, i made a come back and kicked their complacent butts, all because I didn't quit and kept right on going. So how dare you come on these forums and try to "start a blacklist" and try to create a modern day shunning of players, just because you can't hunt correctly.
So because you can't hunt correctly, you decide it should just be given to you, and failing that, create a blacklist.
Your a coward.

Post above this one is so ridiculous and offbase that I'll call a spade black when I see it: NICE TROLL, BUDDY, but you didn't catch me on it. I'm too smart to be sucked in to it. You'll have to troll better than that to catch me.
He might actually think that way. In most games it doesn't matter, because the games are short. In this one, wasting 2 hours n bombing every planet when they have nothing to possibly win with is a long time, and boring as hell just watching numbers dwindle.
So let me get this right, people who quit games with over 400 minerals (300 for zerg) and a worker get blacklisted in starcraft?
So says the "not from this generation" man who has nothing better to do other than troll around with a video game...
I mean, you could be screwing your wife....or raising kids to not be like the generation you hate...or building a god damn spaceship...or finding the cure to cancer....
BUT INSTEAD YOU ARE TROLLING ON ICO AND TREATING A VIDEO GAME LIKE IT'S REAL LIFE....
Meanwhile, the "entitled, complacent, lazy" people are quitting to go off and do better things....probably to like, you know, found multi-billion dollar companies such as facebook....
Vies for Troll King have really gotten pathetic lately.....
I suspect that AgentExieder is either very new or just hasn't played any Sins online multiplayer at all.
The OP is talking about blacklisting people who don't quit when he feels it's time to. Which is a selfish way of thinking, it makes me want to ask "Exactly how much time must I play before allowing you to win finally?"
Why are you not bombing them as you move? as you sweep through a system, you should be taking over the gravity well, setting up shop and moving on.
By the end game, the opponent should have no where TO run to, even if he's flying a scout, you should still be able to corner him.
Usually people scout the map properly and corner to prevent you from getting away, occasionally you can set up shop somewhere else and make a comeback but that's very rare.
Eh, I'll give that one to you, I didn't mean to sound as angry as I did, it's just that posts like the OPs ring of whininess(Sp?) and it just got me the wrong way.
I have played ALOT of Sins in the hey day, Entrenchment and Diplomacy, not so much in rebellion, because my buddies can't seem to get their copies to work because of steam. Which don't get me started on that.
My point is, here you have an OP who is complaining about having to hunt down someone, and then trying to create a blacklist because the guy in question won't "let" him win. Does this make any sense?
Yes...
A huge map is huge...especially considering that MDs are quite frequent, it's not uncommon for your team of 5 to end up as only 2 or 3 human players....even if the odds are overwhelmingly in your favor, it can take hours to wipe every planet on the map....that time could have been far more enjoyably spent in another 5s game that isn't lame clean up and doesn't already have a decided outcome...late game lag makes this stage of the game more frustrating and take even longer (a half hour of "game time" can take one hour of "real time")...
When you consider the size of the community, and that there may only be 11 or 12 people on at a given time who are even interested in a 5s game, it is actually quite selfish of the troll who drags the game out as they are preventing the one and only next 5s game from starting...and often these trolls are even playing, they just leave the game running to go do something else because they know even if they do nothing it can still take the other team quite awhile to finish the game....
The constant fear of desyncing or MDing also has to be considered...if a game is clearly decided, the winning team is going to want to get their win right then and there before they desync or MD while trolling around doing clean up...
I made a similar thread a while ago...there are a handful of people who tend to frequently be the hosts for 5s games, and my goal was to get most of them to temporarily boot certain people from games for a few days...and guess what? It worked....many of those trolls stopped dragging games out and the ICO community was for the better because of it....
In a starcraft game that lasts 20-30 minutes, sure, stay in till the bitter end...but Sins is a totally different game -- a 5s game normally lasts 1-2 hours if the losing team quits....it can easily last 4 or 5 if the losing team doesn't quit and key players on the winning team MD while simply doing clean up...
This all being said, sometimes I'm willing to give the Chinese players some grace....they are mostly new, and not all of them speak good English so they may not necessarily understand when the other team asks them to quit...
Some of the Chinese players are also uber trolls, and thus I've become less lenient with them over time...
It's different when you're playing against your buddies (than against strangers). Your buddies probably aren't going to be dicks and probably won't drag a dead game out for an additional two hours, etc.
He doesn't sound like a troll to me, more like a ignorant person. Anyway, I LOL.
Turtleundefeated (aka Chose from Vanilla sins) again held up a game by around 40-50 mins before I finally decided to leave. I've seen him do it on at least 2-3 other occasions.
I seriously hope players ban turtleundefeated from all games and do not join games he host.
I'm personally not going to play in any games with turtle again...whether others decide to as well, that's their choice.
If Turtle is really Chose, then he has a record of dragging games out going all the way back to Entrenchment.
