We have had a really nice influx of new players since Sins has expanded to Steam. Member Sinperium suggested we have an "introduce yourself" thread and I thought it was a great idea.

Hi all, DarthMelkor here.New to the game. Love RTS and am currently playing against AI to earn achievements. (Some seem stupid like the research ones). I want to play soon in multiplayer games. What should I do for that? I am tired of seeing epic proportions of AI fleet spinning and dying in the same place over and over again as meteors ram into them!Is there some fixed time for online gameplay? The games I play take a long time to complete but that is something i like about this game!
Hey there I'm wopwopwop and Have been playings Sins on and off for the last five years. I have to say this game can be truly addicting as I have had myself on more than one occasion do over 18hrs solid gameplay just to get everything researched and to build a mega fleet. As always I play on the easy setting so I can wop the computer's butt. Also played Space Empires V, Star Wars Empire at Wars, HomeWorlds, Supreme Commanders, Dawn of Wars and many many more. I love space games. Playing World of Tanks as well. Rise of Nations:Rise of Legends is also a fav of mine and I'll never tire of it just like Sins.

Hello everyone, I got Sins: Rebellion 1 to 2 years ago. I originally purchased it because of the Stargate mod for it but I started playing the base game a few months ago and been having a blast ever since. Such a great game i'm just waiting for a remaster on a better engine or better yet, a sequel.
I also finally unlocked all the achievements for Rebellion, last one was Pirate Exterminator
Howdy there, I bought this game about a year ago from steam, and I am happy to say I think it was a great purchase. I have mostly been doing comp stompers, but I am slowly beginning to get into multiplayer, I won my first two matches. The community seems to be really nice, except one person who scolded me for picking a competitive map when I tried to host myself...
So I do hope there are a few friendly people here who are willing to teach me the ropes of multyplayer for this really unique and fun game.

Hi, i'm new to playing Sins of a Solar Empire! The game is great and i love building a nice fleet and expanding my empire in the galaxy.
I need help understanding even against one normal AI, he can have every capital ship at rank 9 and a Titan at 9 as well. Its ridiculous and I dont stand a chance and my ships will still be at about 3 - 5 rank.
Is there a mod or way to restrict the ranking levelling? So all units stay at rank 0 or start at 9 on build?
This would make the game more enjoyable and less bull-dozery...

Hi guys. Returning player here after a cupla years. My 1st Sims was Rebellion back then & I'm now play'n Entrenchment. All the while I was away checking out other space sims & rpgs it seemed like a ghost of the Sins of Solar haunted the gameplay, calling me back to the wars of the TEC, their brethren Advent & the pirates. Glad to be home.

I've bought this game (trinity) with the "Xmas surplus" last week and i'm really impressed. The level of zoom and detail is really amazing. Only, single-star galaxies wtf! but ok i can get away with it (lies, i can't. I'll fix this sooner or later).
I'm in full learning mode. Crushing medium ai currently. I'll never forget the first time the attacking enemy fleet escaped from my marza and gardas. Made a "haha you flee COWARD" save. (Btw, i'm discovering carrier cruisers are op in large numbers). In life i'm a law student; i rarely play online, more often lan with friends.
