We have had a really nice influx of new players since Sins has expanded to Steam. Member Sinperium suggested we have an "introduce yourself" thread and I thought it was a great idea.
So if you are new to Sins, come introduce yourself to the community and maybe even setup some matches!
hi
Well hi there!

Hey all,
I used to play the original and the expansions as Citizen and just picked up Rebellion. I hope there are more than 40-100 on at a given time now.
We had 300-500 at launch and during steam sales. I fear you are already too late to see similar numbers without a new patch or another sale.
Hi everyone.
This is my first ever SOASE I have ever played. Pretty awesome for an RTS game.
I have played CPU's for a fair amount of time and I thought it would be interesting to go and play online.
So here I am.
Hi all!
I discovered Sins of Solar Empire when it was release but didn't played so much, despite of the perfection of that game.
I am a big fan of this kind of perfect game and if I prefer turn by turn based games, sometime I can appreciate real time based games. Consequently, with SoSE, I find the bast of these two worlds!
The other games I love are numerous but the short list should be : Homeworld (of course !), Space Empire 4, Sid Meier's Alpha Centaury, CiV 3 and 4, Tzar the burden Crown (an old one !), Imperialism, Heroes of Might and Magic (3, 4 and 5), Diablo, The Campaign Serie (West Front) and at list The Operational Art of War by Norm Koger.
I have to mention also the Ageod's games that I did the artistic direction for the early games (check Birth of America if you didn't know them).
Recently, I bought Trinity and more recently, Rebellion. Wow! What a game...
I can't stop playing and thinking to it.
By the way, I made a chart to help "non-pro" players like me (!) and modded some music by replacing battle music with those from of Homeworld soundtrack (A slightly modification, quite different with the Homeworld mod ).
Furthermore, I d like to create another mod since I am not really satisfy with the current maps as I find them not enough realistic. My main goal would be to change the "solar system" logic (too many planets orbiting around a star) of the map by a "galactic" logic : replacement of all the planets by stars, replacement of the central stars by black holes and replacement of all the asteroids by... Planets
Since I am not sure if it is possible or easy to midify this, help would be very welcome!
I don't want to end my presentation without say thank you to the Ironclad and Stardock teams that made such a great game! Without forgeting the player communities, here and on wikia...
Longue vie à Sins of Solar Empire !
CITIZEN!!!! OMG ITS YOU!! Its -
I'm sorry, I can't tell you who it is.
If anyone finds out, i'm blaming you.
I will PM you.
Hello, I'm not completely new to Sins, but I've never actually been on the forums before.
I'm Iashar, the Spiral Prince.
I've been trying to find solutions to an issue I've been having in galaxy forge(for rebellion.)
I built a map I named "The Starlight Project" in GalaxyForge, and it works in rebellion.
So the problems are that I've no clue which area to ask for help in and
my phase lanes keep disappearing for no reason,
making the map unplayable even though they are there in GalaxyForge.
Could someone please point me in the right direction to have these issues resolved?
I rebuilt the map based on the one I had made (in the previous GalaxyForge version) for a friend for SoaSE trinity,
which he screen shared for me and showed me ingame, all the lanes were there in that version.
Galaxy forge threads are usually put under modding.
Are you sure the phase lanes are actually gone, and not just hidden? If your game is in cinematic mode or you disabled showing them in the options they will be invisible but you should be able to jump to nearby planets.
Your Majesty...
I'd say, "welcome" but I am confused now.
hello I am Burtakal
I have been here before.i came on board when Galactic Civilizations came out. that was a great game.i have not played any of the Sins games but I am going to buy Rebellion. I am glad to met you all.

Hi, Dave The Red here, I just got this game, and so far it looks like a lot of fun, I enjoy Civ, Defence Grid, and mostly strategy and RPG games. nice to meet you all.
Why hello there!
I'm happy to inform that...
YOU'RE GETTIN MUGGED, KID
Lawl, just kidding. Welcome to SoaSE. If you have any questions, feel free to ask GoaFan, Seleuceia, or PM me at my steam name Konigsberger.
Hi this is finemw and i am a fan of this and age of empires 3
Greetings, Earthling. I play age of empires 3 as well, but not bought from steam.
Hello, the name is Todd. I had picked this game up 4 years ago but stopped playing because it was just too hard compared to Civilizations . I just bought the most recent xpac and am willing to learn this game since the videoes off of YouTube and other reviews got me interested again. I hardly play video games anymore but I would liken to give this game another shot.

Yo, New player, already had a thread involved with Modding the game. Average player, access to ventrillo, and some other folks who also have the game.Social smoker and drinker, frequent flyer...
I am fairly new to this game playing casually and avoiding hard matches although I do not play multiplayer.
I've been here a few weeks now but anyways, I'm WOEaintME.
I plan on making a mod (how many newbs have said this and gone silent haha) with a campaign like add-on. I currently have two missions where you start with a prebuilt fleet as a pedefined, and new race. I plan on trying to work my race into the sins story through the release of the DLC (The worlds are forbidden for a reason and my new race is a big, ok THE, reason for that).
I've got 3 capital ships and 4 frigates modelled and coded into game with a few researches (no textures yet) but now I'm straying off topic and I'll shutup.
Again, I'm WOEaintME, been here for a few weeks (since the 66% off sale on steam a few weeks back), glad to meet you all.
Hi,
rank newbie to sins of a solar empire, just got the game, recommended by word of mouth. Slightly intimidated by scale. just created stardock account and got it via steam. any pointers?
I'm rmccorki btw
Just be patient and don't be afraid to look stuff up. You can find some good explanations on the strategy forum of this site, the steam guides, maybe even on Youtube for more of the tactics stuff.
