Hello All
I have just picked up a another copy of FreeLancer (lost my old one) and was wondering what mods I should use that doesn't impact the main story line.
I am downloading the Rebalance 3.56 mod. I am also thinking of downloading the CrossFire mod as well but it probably changes the main story line quite a bit.
Anyone have any suggestions for mods for single player?
There is one server out there but I am not remembering the name. I think it was Freelancer Universe. Was vanilla with the option of buying a mining ship, transport and armored transport.
That was the only difference. They had a shakeup a few years back and not sure where they ended.
Freelancer Discvoery si heavy (and emphasis on the heavy) role play server that does have expanded content but it is high quality. Original ship models with detail and original textures designed to stay in the theme of Freelancer. The role play is a bit obsessive there and the forums are a steaming cesspool of player bile and complaints against other players but it is actually a great server with good numbers of players.

Just been playing the mod "Shattered Worlds" and it is great. Better combat with new weapons, trade good, ships ,planets and enemies. Makes it much better.

Not a big fan of Sins myself. Not a big fan of RTS besides DofW2.
Is the Rebalance mod good now? I kinda gave up on it halfway through its development cause it made everything so hard, but I liked the new features.
Freelancer may always be among my top ten games of all time. We shall see.
Couldn't get the Re-Balance mod to download. Kept crashing on me. You can one of the files in your games directory to change the strength of NPC's.
Shattered Worlds is alright with new ships and things to do but no one is online at the moment.
Definitely Crossfire ! I think it is by far the best mod for Freelancer !
I love that game so much ! I don't have it anymore thoug is it on impulse or smth? I think nobody ever made a greatest space opera
I picked it up at Wally World for 8 dollars the other day.

If you search for Freelancer, then go in mod section, you'll find all you need, there's a lot of mods out there, either total conversion or just as you search expending the universe. Crossfire is the only one I pretty much liked and they retouched the graphics which is really nice [e digicons]:')[/e]
There's another new one out called "Underverse" which is very difernt and another along that line is "Tekagi's Treasure"--very different takes on FL and pretty fun to try.
But they both TC, aren't they?
I think Crossfire and the Starwars mod are the only mods which ever really got my attention and also the only mods I really ever tested. I think FL universe is cool enough not to want any TC.
But I admit, Star Wars is a TC but nothing beats flying a Tie Interceptor or a X-Wing ! So, just for the pleasure of it ! lol
Yeah--they are pretty much TC--but nicely done and interesting.
what does the rebalance mod do? does it fix the annoying way that all the factions have the same three ships, only slightly more powerful all round than the previous faction?
I don't think so... It just fix damages, prices, and those stuff !
Don't think it does much to the enemy ships but it adds tons of player ships, adds recharging shields for the enemies, and a whole bunch of stuff I don't remember. It was pretty impressive.
