Hello Ladies and Gentlemen
It has been awhile since the last Community Skinning Project.
To start off, all community skinners are eligible and encouraged to submit a WindowBlinds entry for a contest. Yes you read that correctly, a contest with the winner's WindowBlinds being used as the theme for the community project as the prize.
A few rules, only one entry per skinner and it must meet the established guidelines for uploading of a WindowBlinds. Since this is for a Community Project and we know the community still uses XP, Vista and now Windows 7 you know what we are looking for. The entries on a minimum will be skinned for Windows 7.
Volunteers are needed to judge the entries. One simple rule, if you volunteer to judge you can not submit a WB. You can however sign up to make themed skins. We need a minimum of five but no more than ten judges. I'm expecting a lot of entries.
When does the contest end, Friday the 18th of March. All entries for the contest will be uploaded to the WinCustomize WindowBlinds Gallery Library no earlier then Monday, 14 March (you really don't want to show your entry to the other skinners early now do you?) and no later than Friday, 18 March. All entries should include 'For Community Skinning Project' in it's description. Winner will be selected on Friday, 25 March.
Once a winning theme is selected community skinners will be able to sign up for skins they wish to make and get the graphics and start skinning.
What can you make a themed skin for you ask, if it has a WinCustomize Library you can make a skin for it.
Can there be multiple skins as in two or three Wallpapers or Logons, yes, but only one per skinner.
Can a skinner sign up to do several different skins, yes.
Only one rule for themed skins, they will use the theme graphics. The only exceptions will be for Screensavers, Dreams and Wallpapers. These will though have a tie in to the theme of the project.

with no one else showing any interest in this, there is no point for me to bother entering....sorry philly its a shame, but no one seems to be interested
Where is all the community spirit? There's got to be somebody out there. Don't give up yet Kitty, someone's bound to poke his or her head up. I hope.
It seems that the skinners for the blind may not be interested. Some of the rest of us are. We don't have to base it on a blind. Or what if someone picks an existing blind, with the skinner's consent, and we go from there?

OK - I was holding off entering because I'm intimidated competing against Kitty, but if the contest ends due to lack of support, I'll humiliate myself and put in an entry. I'm almost done with Curse of the Full Moon anyway, so I'm going to need to start a new project.
Honestly? I don't look at your skins and Vamps' at all the same way....I love each of your blinds on their own. You have distinctive styles, but so what? That's what makes this all wonderful. As for judging? I'd rather see it without that.
I'd love seeing two or more skinners given one theme and see where each goes with it. It's all good, and valid.

Okay Doc, you have me wondering.
I know -- it wouldn't be a contest without judging, and I'm way past the age where every game played is geared to be cooperative. Hopefully others will enter and it won't turn into the contest of the Master Apprentice skinner competing against the Master skinner - "my Schwinn bicycle is prettier than your Ferrari"
BUT, the whole point of this is to have fun, so I'm IN!

Karen...I gotta parrot everyone else here and say you should never hold back. Kitty is good but so are you...everyone as individuals brings their own perspective to the table and it would be a dull world if we all skinned the same way. And you've done great skins! So don't ever feel intimidated.

The Lady of Lunacy and the Lady of 10w's team up to do justice to a WB and drive us lunatics to distraction. Cool.
Why don't you two team up? After all, you do both have a similar style and you both create quality work....plus, isn't it a "community" blind.
Nice try but that was not the intent here. The intent was to have many WBs presented so that one could be selected. Granted only two skinners have stepped up and took the challenge. Oh, and both are women. Hmmmm. Just saying.
My mind is in the gutter...I'm imaging us wrestling in the mud.
Is it possible for a male to join in with a blind? I have been going through a bit of a bad patch recently & not concentrating on the forums like I normally do, I saw this thread when it was started & forgot about it, it's a favourite trick of my memory, but it was one of the threads on the home page tonight, & here I am. It would be be one more entry for all the volunteering judges to judge!
Damn it, why didn't I think of that, now that would be a way to choose which skin to use.

I am no good at wrestling, but I am good with mud, I was a livestock farmer in one of the wetter areas of the UK, so every winter mud was the norm, come to think about it, I was quite often wrestling cattle & sheep in the mud, but I am too much of a gentlleman to wrestle the glamorous ladies at Wincustomize!!
